Happy Sunday, everybody! I know a lot of you are out partying it up, but we want to hear about ALL your awesome. What have you been up to, Milliways? ♥
Well, Swanky and I are giving the Tommy/Voodoo shippers oodles of material in an ongoing thread.
And I came across a bunch of entries for Connor on Be A Game Character. Beholdthefourentries!
(I couldn't do any of the workouts, not the way my shoulder is right now. I would die. And despite using a totally bogus "Cherokee legend", the dichotomy entry isn't half-bad.)
I was mostly busy with my project management class; by now, I have reached the status of resident Hermione Granger, together with another lady who is a former naval officer. If the teacher asks the class a question, he tries to call on some third person if at all feasible. We both handed in our assignments two days early and are already working on our sample projects.
So you know that moment when your characters aren't really talking to you? We figured out why and acted accordingly.
Also, to mark the last day of Warehouse 13 filming (OH MY GOD YOU GUYS I THINK WE GET A MUSICAL EPISODE THIS IS ALL I HAVE EVER WANTED), the Warehouse is in PFSB.
Coming later today: Something for the fact that I've been playing Imp, on and off, in one form or another, for ten goddamn years as of today, and Quinn's drunk tweets of the end of W13 season 4.
Other than a slowtimed thread with Tommy [is it a fade or no?], not much happened RP-wise.
I did, however, go to the air show that was put on last Wednesday. Got to see the Snowbirds [nine jet engines in full roar has to be the loudest thing I've ever heard], but my favourite by far was the CF-18 Hornet [the one in my icon], which very nearly did not get off the ground because the radar wasn't working, and if something isn't working, then there's no flying.
They got it fixed just in time, and closed the show, and quite nicely too.
I'm hoping there's another one next year, and that they bring the Hornet, too.
And that I'll have figured out how to take pictures of moving and/or distant objects with the camera I got back in July.
Speaking of pictures, here's a few of them. The picture of the Snowbirds in formation is sadly the only good one I got of them in flight. Next year though.
First order of business: I just want to apologize to everyone I've been threading with for my slowness and sometimes complete absence over the last couple of weeks. I've been working through some Real Life stuff that's been kicking my butt, but all the amazing threads I have going with you guys have been a solitary bright spot and total joy for me. I know I owe some outstanding backtags, particularly with Porthos, Hill, and Grace, but I have every intention of getting to them all. Today was the plan, in fact. Except my laptop refuses to load the OS, and the screen blacks out before I can open a DOS(?) session to reformat the hard drive. SO it is currently in pieces in the floor while I try to drain the motherboard. Frustrating, needless to say. Anyhow, I won't blame anyone if you'd prefer to just drop our threads, but I wanted to let you know how much I've appreciated and adored all of them, and that you will be getting tagbacks as soon as I can manage them. *awkward toe shuffle*
BUT, I have accomplished a few things this week, including a pair of Warehouse 13 fics that are in desperate need of polishing and posting, and I started on an OoM I've been looking forward to for a month (still in progress). The rest has been exploring the NC Apple Festival Friday, making some contacts with the art world, and rocking out to good music and good eats at Asheville Bacon Fest yesterday. Tomorrow is another special event, and then it will be all the sleeps for me. I also scored a kickass jewelers soldering torch for $3.99 yesterday. I am pleased.
Although, I did just book my room for Dragon*Con 2014 at the Sheraton, so I'm pretty pleased about that. It's nice being squared away this far in advance. :D
Not much to report, RP-wise. I've been trying to tag some slows for Stiles, and Mary has an EP up today. (It's time to both get that chica moving through canon—and start getting her the support system she's lacking in canon.) Links are for people less lazy than I am right now XD
In real life, I haven't been feeling great, but I did finally motivate myself to go to a yoga class this week. And I scheduled two job interviews!
