... look, all the other quotes I'm finding that sound right for Stacker on the surface ultimately come down to 'being a single unmovable individual is the most important thing in the world', and while he is deeply important to his world's canon, when the central message of the canon is that you have to be able to bond with another person in order to save the world, I kind of think you have to take that into account.

And I am not going to reuse Nick Fury's line to the Ominous Council of Ominousness, because that doesn't feel right either.

This is about patriotism, from Steve in the comics, but it is what popped into my head for Stacker: When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world — "No, you move."

I agree with you on your talk-y think-y bits :). If there was a quote that established that it was perfectly viable & honorable to be the steady foundation on which other people build to change the world, that'd be different, but yeah.

And the quote you used made me choke on my pop, so... A+?

That's actually the first one I considered, the 'no, you move' line. The only part about it that made me go elsewhere was the emphasis on the solitary individual, and even then given his role vs. the role of an active duty ranger I wasn't entirely sure. So, yeah, that was the biggest candidate.

And I'm glad the other one went over well!

As someone who loves that line and loves Steve for that line....yes. Yes and yes.
