"Oh, would you please be quiet?" the boy squeaks, red-faced and tucking his chin in at her giggling. "It's not funny anyway and if it is, your sense of humor is appalling."

"Come on, I have something to show you," she says, grinning. He sighs and halfheartedly tries to jerk his hand out of her grip, which never works and isn't supposed to.

"Whatever you're going to show me isn't going to fix--Ooh," he murmurs, dizzy at the sight of so many books.

She laughed again, and all was forgiven.

"Well, no, of course where you kiss someone makes a difference!" Autor babbles, face already drenched in scarlet. "The knuckles mean etiquette and the forehead is affectionate, not to mention the cheeks. And then there's, um, the lips, which mean a great number of things."

"Thou knowest much more than a monklet should," Poins says, grinning. "But what of the neck, or jaw, or other sweet places?"

"The neck," the boy scoffs, curling his fingers around his hip. "Truly, Poins, you are ridiculous. Why would anyone put their mouth on a ne--"

Really, he should have seen it coming. A gentle suckle, a scrape of teeth, and the boy is shocked to find that the object lesson is not entirely unpleasant.

"Hm, a long life line," Autor says, tracing his finger along the crease. "Color me surprised."

Punie smiles as he tickles her palm with his feather-light touch, but then blinks when he starts kneading the heel of her hand with his thumbs. "What are you doing?"

"I have thought about your hands," he murmurs, walking his nails up her palm, pressing down, "ever since you plucked that grenade from my pocket. You use them for everything." He meets her gaze, closing his fingers around hers. "Should I stop?"

"No," she says, and scoots just that much closer on the bench.
