DE: How's the weather down/up there?
Quoth the Flynn:
+ How tall is your pup? What's the first thing people will notice about your pup when they walk into the bar?
I think someone is trying to size us up. ; p
Also, a reminder, the DEs for Thursday, Friday and Saturday are up for grabs this week.
Edit: Saturday's DE is still up for grabs.

As for height:
Joshua is taller than his screen counterpart, that I know. He's around six foot. The first thing people would likely notice about him, well, it depends on what he's doing/wearing. If he's on Regent Business, he does tend to look a bit regal, but if he's just farting around in he lab, he definitely has the mad-scientist thing going on. It all just depends.
Helena is middling-height, and slight build. People would likely notice that she's very fluid in her movements, and that she is quite confident in herself.
Valentine doesn't really have much to make her stand out. She's a middling-height twelve-year-old with blonde hair and an ubiquitous notebook.

John Marston is canonically 5' 10". Again, what would be noticed first would depend on the pup, but any pups from late 18th century Earth onward would likely be able to recognize him off the bat as a cowboy.
A lot of people peg Mako as above 6 foot. I put him at no more than 5' 11". Again, what any given pup would notice first is not up for me to say, but the red scarf of his is pretty obvious.
Adult!Connor has been pegged at above 6 foot and around 200 pounds. Again, what any given pup would notice first depends on the pup, but once he gets his capital-A Assassin robes, he'll be pretty hard to mistake.

River is around 5'4", or 163 cm. (This is actually about four inches shorter than Summer Glau, but a) River was generally framed in the show to emphasize how small and slight she was on this ship of tall people, for general waifish appearance, and b) at the time I picked her height, I couldn't find Summer's height anywhere online.)
Regan is around her daughter's height, although she often wears heels that give her another inch or two.
Clare is 5'6", or 167 cm.
Enjolras's height isn't clearly described; Gavroche calls him a "big blond fellow" once, but Gavroche is a street kid, and Enjolras is elsewhere described as willowy. So I tend to think of him as slimly built but taller than average for his time (in part because he's rich enough to have been well fed as a child), which is more like average for Milliways and modern folk. Maybe 5'9" or 5'10", or 175-178cm? (Aaron Tveit is 6', for the record.)
Trowa is 176cm, or a bit under 5'9".
I'll come back to do the second half of the question after I've earned it with some more work!

Thor is attention-getting even by Asgardian standards (because... prince) and decidedly larger-than-life by human standards. He's tall and broad and muscular, he's got a mane of blond hair, he's probably carrying a hammer the size of your head as if it doesn't weigh much, and odds are decent he's wearing a shiny breastplate and possibly a long red cape. And, as an Asgardian, he looks a little more color-saturated than most people around, as if the light hits him a little differently
because why not make Asgard's cinematography literal.Besides that, there's the general air of aggressive cheer, unless he's in a bad mood, or the air of gravitas and palpable authority, if he's involved in serious business. But I'm pretty sure his physicality is going to strike most people first.
River: probably her eye contact, which doesn't track normally on people or objects (but not in the same way as someone blind); often, also the fact that she's perched on top of a table or booth back or rafter or something. Just generally her body language, I think. After that possibly her clothing, if the person is someone who would find loose hair and/or fluttering hippie layers weird.
Regan: is one of a small number of middle-aged and older folk around Milliways. Maybe that first; maybe the fact that her clothing and general appearance shouts of money to the world. Not that she's ostentatious, but everything is well-made and well-tailored and carefully chosen for an ensemble appearance, even her more casual clothes for hanging out at home.
Clare is bleach-pale head to toe, with metallic silver eyes. Most people don't instantly interpret that as CLAYMORE DANGEROUS PART-DEMON NOT HUMAN the way humans of her world do, but it's probably still eye-catching! Besides that, she has a huge sword on her back. Her clothing is weird too: white and silver armor that's designed to be eye-catching more than really protective, or if she's in civvies they're still weirdly styled (and full of extraneous straps and belts and asymmetry) to most eyes.
Enjolras... aheh. Well, to listen to Victor Hugo talk, what will strike you first is that he's gorgeous, no seriously, golden hair like a shining halo and sweet blue eyes and a girlish face like a Greek statue's, full of dawn and beauty and where are you going, Hugo has another page about his facial features--
Uh. So there's that, if your character is the sort to be struck by that kind of thing! (And if your character's standards of male beauty are sufficiently in accord with those of 19th century France, which of course is not guaranteed.) Also, he's dressed in 1830s menswear, jacket and waistcoat and cravat and so forth, which is moderately unusual in the bar. (He will also always have a tricolor cockade on his lapel, which is a blatantly in-your-face signal of political sympathies to someone of his era, but a lot of characters around Milliways will have no idea what it means.) And he'll probably be scowling at a newspaper or staring with intense thought into the middle distance a lot of the time. He has a lot of charisma when he's actually holding forth about something he feels strongly about (revolution, France, human rights, etc), but he's pretty reserved the rest of the time.
Trowa: the hair. He's from an anime. His hair flops forward in a way that completely defies gravity, especially since he uses no product in it. (And, because he's from an anime, he has no idea why so many people from other worlds find a perfectly normal hairstyle worth immediately commenting on.) Beyond that, his body language is mostly calibrated towards not attracting attention, in a low-key kind of way. Habit.

Lou is 5'9" and heavyset. Unless he's wearing any part of his lieutenant's uniform or bunker gear, there's not much to notice as he's quite the average joe. Maybe his mustache. Or if he's eating a doughnut.
no subject
Karkat is not tall. He's an adolescent, to begin with, and not a particularly tall one on top of that. He's probably bumping around the neighborhood of five feet, plus the hair.

Gordon is canonically 6'2" and 180 pounds as of the start of the first Half-Life game. I figure he's put on some muscle since then since you don't carry that many guns and swing that many crowbars around without bulking up a bit- the HEV suit isn't Marauder-class power armor. As for what people will notice first, it's probably the eyepatch and heavy scarring on the right side of his face; the fact that he's wearing a crowbar on his belt the way medieval types would wear a sword is probably thing #2.
Shephard does not have his dimensions stated at the start of the game; I generally assume he's about 6'1". Visually people are most likely to notice that he's either wearing his camo or something civilian that still looks like he bought it on a military base, although the black elbow length glove he wears on his right arm might also catch the eye. People who've walked into the Bar while he's talking will probably notice the West Virginia holler country accent and the copious amounts of profanity.
Ellen is 5'2". The Lone Wanderer's height is never given in-game, and since Bethesda uses the same sized model for all adult human characters, canon is no help. I'd originally pictured her as pretty tall but when I mentioned this in a post, multiple people responded with a great deal of surprise. Apparently everyone had pictured her as really short. So I went with that and made her the same height as Jet Li. As for what people will notice about her first off, she's a short Asian-looking woman with short grey hair and a bunch of facial scars, most particularly a recently acquired one that looks like somebody tried to cut open the left side of her forehead. That kind of thing tends to stand out a little more than clothing.
Mordin is a six-foot-tall extremely slender ruddy skinned space amphibian with one and a half horns and a forehead tattoo. Since he is not on the Citadel or otherwise in Council space I'm pretty sure the fact that he's a six foot tall extremely slender ruddy skinned space amphibian is probably going to hit new arrivals all at once.
Varric is about... eh, Dragon Age dwarves are depicted as coming up to around the sternum of a standard human character model in-game. I tend to go with an even five feet for his height, and broader shoulders than one would expect for a human his height. Generally the fact that he's an adult with stubble and chest hair despite being five feet high is the first thing humans from worlds that don't have the dwarven race notice. Humans from worlds with dwarves are more likely to notice the ginormous crossbow he carries, or possibly the chest hair, as he's rather proud of that. Dragon Age dwarves will probably spot the crossbow first, since he's nothing all that unusual appearance-wise to them. Tolkienesque or Pratchettonian dwarves are more likely to notice "Hey, it's a dwarf... um... dude, where is your beard, seriously, what is wrong with you."
Medic is pretty tall compared to the rest of his teammates. I'm going with 6'3". People are most likely to notice the German accent, I think, as he's got kind of a penetrating voice. Appearance-wise the gray he's got going on at the temples probably marks him out a bit; also there's a good chance he's come in from work, so, lab coat and blue gloves are a big thing.
Santo is 5'10" and built like a wall. People will notice the fact that he's wearing a sparkly silver lucha mask first unless they're blind, in which case they're going to pick up on the Mexican accent (he's translated as having excellent English, he just sounds like a man from Hidalgo).
Stacker Pentecost is 6'3" and as much as I'd love to wax rhapsodic about his appearance and/or mention his PPDC uniform, I'm reasonably sure that the first thing people would notice about him is that he's the only black man in the Bar. It kind of stands out. ETA: The only black man other than our Niccolo Machiavelli, anyway.

Carol is also 5'11". If she's in uniform, that's probably the first thing folks will notice. Ditto if she's wearing her lucky hat. Otherwise, she's a tall, attractive woman with long blonde hair in peak physical shape. People tend to notice such things.
Lady Mary is the shortest of the bunch at 5'8". People are likely to notice her clothes, all of which are the height of fashion for the 1910s. She's probably the most likely person to turn up at the bar in an evening dress, and even her "casual" clothes are of the finest quality and require her maid's help in outfitting herself.

Gene - is around six foot, with charisma and personality that extends about a mile around his body, and makes him seem taller. It's probably the first thing people would notice about him too (and the fact that he'll probably be shouting about something). He's one of those people that stands out in any room, and fills any gaps with sheer force of presence.
Bruce Banner - is around 5'10. The first thing people would probably notice about him is how unprepossessing he is, and that he actively looks like he's trying to take up less space than he needs.
Bruce Wayne - about 6' even. The most obvious thing about him would be (if coming in from the office) how obviously well-tailored his clothes are, and how he reeks of money. If he's coming in from just a regular day, his physical fitness will probably show, as he'll be in sweats.

Ace - 5'3"ish, more if she's wearing Doc Martins. She'll be the one that comes in either a) smoking, b)actually on fire, c) yelling insults at someone, d) full of more energy than she has any right to possess or e) all of the above.
Katya - Right now somewhere in the 5'4" = 5'5"ish range - she doesn't tend to get much taller, as she prefers to save her intimidation gig for when she's a tiger. The first thing people would notice (most likely) is the multitude of thin silver bracelets around both wrists, and if she's feeling fancy, her silver rings and earrings. But the bracelets are always on, and chime when she moves.
Haymitch - He's 5'10"ish, the captiol wanted him to be taller at final height and gave him all kinds of growth supplements after winning the games, but he was enormously pleased they didn't work at all. He was the short boy for his games, and it served him well. First impressions? He's drunk. He's always some level of drunk. If Haymitch Abernathy comes into the bar sober, y'all will know about it.
Bones - He's also 5'10"ish, and just fine with that, thanks. People'd probably notice the uniform first - he's either in bright medical service blues or blue scrubs 99.9% of the time he's on board ship.
Balthazar - He's 6'0", and slightly disappointed by that because evidently his newest apprentice is a tree, and it's hard to be properly intimidating when looking up. Ace and Katya are telling him to suck it up, buttercup. The first thing anyone would probably notice is probably his hobo-chic getup he wears, though really the layers reflect the armor he used to wear in the time he came from originally. People also may notice he wears more rings than he has fingers, though only one truly counts.
Glorfindel - somewhere around 7'0" (and secretly a tree), and the first thing notable about him is just the sense of power. He is an ancient elf lord who is at his prime physically and carries the light of Valinor, and he doesn't do a dang thing to hide it.

If she wants to show off, she can be as tall as a two or three story building. I think. How tall a god can get in canon is a function of their power, and the two that are brawling right now are three tiers above her and look maybe, 5 stories tall? I don't know, it is hard to tell. Then again there is the Ozymandias-like statue of Amascut out at Lion's Mouth temple ruins, and that looks like it was maybe 8 stories tall or higher. It would be embarrassing for Amascut to be shorter than her statue, but then again maybe that is part of the reason she tore it down. Besides being crazy.
[point being, she can change her height and might do so for vanity or glowering purposes]
What should be noticeable about her is her red hair, primarily, then its contrast with her middle-eastern/Mediterranean skin tone, then her build. For those with an enhanced sense of smell, she smells faintly of a dead cat. Also, up close it will seem COMPLETELY NORMAL if not a bit alluring (the Somebody Else's Problem field working it's magic) but from further away the contrasts may be jarring unless such things are COMPLETELY NORMAL on your pup's world.
**addendum: while she is playing at being young Keli Raven/Sarah Black, she is considerably lighter skinned and BLONDER than she is as the adult versions of those aliases.
Fairy Fixit is 1'8" or 51 cm tall. What is most immediately noticeable about her is that at any time, she is likely to be hovering in the air on fast beating beetle wings. She also has a large head and very large eyes, so she is not just a tiny woman with wings. If her hat is off her antennae are obvious and also plumose and moth-like. From afar she might look like a very large insect. The buzzing of her wings should be very noticeable as well.
Evil Chicken is about the size of a turkey. So, big chicken.

Yrael is
whatever height he wants to be at the momentusually 5'10" when male and human. Usually 5'5" when appearing female and human. 9" in height when appearing as a cat. The first thing people will notice about him is his stark lack of pigmentation. Only his eyes have color, and those are startlingly bright leaf-green.Zelgadiss is about 5'10" in height. The first thing people notice about him is his stone, pebble-flecked skin and his wire-like hair. The second thing people notice is that he pointedly doesn't like to be stared at. >_>

Val is of average height, 5'7". Blond haired and blue eyed, I would guess her good cheer is what is noticed first if not her beauty.
Jessica is 5'10" and aside from that beauty thing, I would say her grace is what you'd notice. Every move seems the most efficient to get the job done.
Hank seems shorter than his actor, I would guess maybe 6' rather than 6'2". I could be wrong though as I can see Hank slouching a lot to try and not stand out. Aside from large feet, I would say his awkwardness is his stand out feature.
Thalia is probably around 5'5" or so. Her spiky black hair and electric blue eyes mark her as does her habit of seeming to challenge the world with everything she does.
Quinlan is tall, likely pushing 5'10" as a padawan and 6'1" once fully grown. If his padawan/jedi robes don't mark him, his yellow clan tattoos on his face will.
Anton stand 5'8", like his actor and his general ill at ease is likely his first impression; that or seeming worn down by fate.
And finally Andrea, my shortest pup. If she is quiet, she can catch 5'2" on a good day. As to first impressions, I would say her professional and quasi-military air mark her. She also has a face that will encourage you to tell her your life story if you aren't careful.
no subject
Max is 6'2", being described as 'tall' but sufficiently small that moving in confined spaces isn't ever an issue in canon. The first thing people will probably notice, is the large white beard and hair. Dumbledore like, but not quite so long (yet (or ever)).
Erik is 6'3", like Thor, though he tends to slouch where Thor stands tall, so he often appears to be shorter than he actually is. Just means it's that much more impressive when he does pull himself to his full height.
Alfred is 6'2" like Michael Caine. Nominally, he is impeccably dressed. If he's not, it will be explicitly noted.
Bean is tiny. Growing fast, but I haven't really pushed him through much canon yet. (gah, time, where does it go?) So, probably, the first thing people will notice, is his eyes, large as they are on his small head, and alive with more than most.
no subject
First thing people will notice about him? Probably the red United Forces coat, if he's wearing it. Second would be his hair. The poor man is cursed with an abundance of cowlicks.
Raph is six foot even, and kind of bland to look at...so he's kind of easy to overlook at first glance. That is, of course, unless you're up to something and are keeping an eye out for someone who'd be in a position to stop you. Then you can't miss him.
Mike is five foot six, though the thing most noticeable from afar is the sheer brightness of the shirts he wears. That and he has a tendency to talk to someone who's not there.
Splinter is the same height as Mike. What's probably his most striking feature is that he wears a traditional kimono when everyone else is in jeans and a t-shirt. Unless he's a rat at the time, in which case that'll be the thing people notice most.
Aang is little, and will remain so until his first growth spurt which is well over a year away. Maybe he's four foot five? Maybe?
People tend to notice his robes first, and his tattoos second.

Going by the heights of their actors, Merlin and Steve are both six feet tall and Jack is 5'11. The first thing people tend to notice about Steve is the shield or the uniform, if he has them with him or on; otherwise he's just a tall blond guy who likes to draw. People tend to notice the Big Book of Magic when they see Merlin, and with Jack, I would imagine at home, anyway, the first thing people notice is that hey! It's the Crown Prince!
Lydia is 5'3, which explains the heels, I feel. I think most people first notice the hair.
The Ice King seems to be roughly the same height as Finn, so maybe 5'6? He's lost some height over the years, I think, because when he was Simon he appeared much taller than a young teenager. I would say most people first ntoice the big crown, the blue skin, and the bushy beard.
Cecil is neither tall nor short.
People first notice the squirming tattoos and third eye.I would think most people pay most attention to his voice rather than his appearance. (A friend linked to a fic that described Cecil as perfectly described by negative space, which I like very much.)no subject
Alex is 5'10" with a propensity for wearing 3" heels. (She likes being able to look Gene in the eye.)
Bryan Mills is 6'4" tall. It makes it very difficult to blend.
Earl is as tall as he needs to be. (Typically 6'2".)
Fiona is 5'3", but she likes wearing ridiculous platform heels.
John Silver is 5'7". The leg makes his height variable, as he can hunch or stand tall as suits his mood.
Olga is 5'4". A dangerous 5'4".
River Song is 5'7", also with a propensity for heels. Or combat boots. Either one.
Sherlock is an even six feet, but he's a skinny fellow. Who practices his looming in a mirror.
Vlad is 5'10", but his very nature makes him difficult to pin down. Also, as tall as is required of him.
no subject
Raven is 6'1" when he is Adam Beach, 5'0" when she is Irene Bedard, and 4'0" when he is a kid. Or shorter. It depends. His most recognizable features are the inhuman and stilted way he moves, his changeless wardrobe, and the smell of blood and smoke he carries with him because of his coat. Also glitter and cookies.
Nynaeve is 5'3" and in the absence of her braid her most recognizable features are her scowl and the red dot of the ki'sain on her brow.
Michael is 5'10" and her most recognizable features are probably her T-shirt slogans and her androgynous look.
Galadan is 5'6". His most recognizable features are the red scar on the right side of his face that has left a slash of silver in his hair, a personal magnetism that makes it hard to remember that he is only 5'6", and the sharp ice-grey color of his eyes.
Wonder Woman is 6'2" barefoot. Her most recognizable initial impression/appearance includes her costume, her immense personal warmth, and the sheer breadth of her shoulders. Woman can lift mountains, yo. It shows.
Dean Winchester is 6'1", and his most recognizable features are his leather jacket, his boots, and the smirk he is probably wearing. He does not really have scars. It's weird. Also he's bowlegged.
Sam Tyler is 5'9" (or maybe 5'10" in heels, shut up it's 1973). His most recognizable first impression/look is his leather jacket. Oh yeah. Also his overwhelming air of frustration and occasional WTF.
