I finished my project management class and can now go back to my normal scheduled life! Hurrah!
In RP, I actually did some! I moved Hannibal one episode forwards in canon -- the one with the cello now happened. Thanks again to Wingy for her lovely and spot-on Will Graham in that one.
And then, after talking to Javert and/or Sunshine, some of my characters went to give Dracula a little Talk, and these things did not entirely go as planned, but were enormous fun:
Hannibal allows him a few looks at his memory palace, feeds him metaphysical ravenstag, completely flies under Drac's radar with calling 'Les Misérables' a brick in one tag, and establishes some boundaries that (he hopes) might lead to a helpful alliance.
Teja comes to officiously tell him off about Guppy and the broken door, then stays to deal one nasty blow to Dracula's feels and afterwards plays music and gets stoned. Yep, he did. Teja got stoned with Dracula. So what?
Margolotta comes to tell Vlad Draculea, also known as Vlad Tepesh, Voivode of Wallachia, about the Überwald League of Temperance. Why not? She has talked about it to vampires with much longer names, and many more titles.- She baffles him, makes him laugh, gets through to him at times, tells him a long story she never ever talks about as a rule (because most of the Disc does already), makes him very angry at the end, but remains ultimately, utterly undeterred.-
First and foremost: FANTINE IS BACK. I'll be working on picking up tags throughout the day, and the post, as massive as it is, is still open until she has another.
Then, Joshua had some canon. We're halfway through the s3 opener now, and should be done with it by Monday or so.
In a greatly slowtimed thread, Shephard returns from a trip to the Amazon where he underwent the first level of the Satere-Mawe people's adulthood rite. Grace Augustine, who was with him for the trip, comes by to offer some aftercare and conversation, some of it welcome, some of it of the 'you're too smart to be a Marine' kind; she eventually gets him angry enough that he starts using nothing but completely civilized language.
I did not tag much this week (sorry anyone I owe tags to, I'll get to them, I swear!) for it was the week of ALL THE JOB INTERVIEWS! (I will shortly go return to prepping for tomorrow's, which is number four.) *fingers crossed for actually getting hired*
Semi-related though, for the first time ever I posted a fic on AO3, and Milliways was a HUGE part of giving me the confidence to do that. Writing Stiles in particular, since that's who it's about :)
I did a surprising amount this week! (Well, surprising for me. Er.) In chronological order:
- Gaeta talked with Sameth, Gavroche, and Simon Tam. (That post is from a little while back, but I wrapped up some of the slowtimes this week.) Partly due to the conversation with Gavroche...
- He drunkenly confessed a pretty gd major thing to Louis, which nudged them a few steps closer toward reconciliation. HURRAH. Even if everything is still kind of terrible. :( And due to that conversation...
tl;dr: PROGRESS IN GAETA'S MENTAL STATE/RELATIONSHIPS. YAY.
IRL, I saved up enough money to go to a fancypants salon and get a bunch of my hair chopped off, Deva-style. I have been dreaming about this for YEARS and it looks SO GOOD and aaaah I am so glad I found people who know how to handle my out of control Merida hair. *____*
Edited (typos. I'LL STOP EDITING NOW SORRY) 2013-09-15 16:11 (UTC)
Well, I was sick for the first half of the week but I discovered a new canon and pup (RWBY and Yang Xiao Long, respectively) which came in and sat on all of my other pups while I devoured her canon. I finally felt well enough to put her up in Dear Muse (where she's chatting with other canon mates and herself, which is totally weird), Mixed_Muses (where she's talking with a dead boy) and PFSB (where she's found another canon mate), not to mention her sneaking into a thread the day before with an AU Gavroche, which has her feeling completely helpless, which is a very strange feeling for her.
As per my norm, all of these are still active and threading. I also have a couple of threads which started last night but they're even lighter than the Yang ones so I won't bother listing them. Now to get back to tags. = ]
Not much RP this week, but I navigated through a pretty hectic work week, and made it through Yom Kippur and did stuff to get ready for the next holiday, Sukkot.
In a thread Millitimed to hell and back, Autor got himself blitzed on opiates--again--while trying to play a chess game with a telepath--again--only to end up with Sunshine pulling him away from a 'great monster'. Again. (A wild Pattern appears!)
Shout out-wise, the Master of Ceremonies coming out to play with the surprise!Fantine is absolutely fabulous, Sunshine and Margolotta discuss vampire reform, and I am following the trolls' situation with gritted teeth.
Also: the love meme! That was a pleasant shock after a long day. This comm is beautiful, and I'll be running through and posting into that today.
Life has been kicking my butt all over the map (literally, my current job requires lots of driving), so I've been out of commission on the writing end of things for a few weeks. Fortunately, that'll change in about 10 days, when my newer new job starts. (Making my current job the second-shortest job I've ever held at about six weeks.) Mark should return to the Bar somewhere near to the end of the month.
Holy mother of Bob, I have written more in the last three weeks than I have in the last three YEARS. Not only did the vampire eat my brain (some threads still ongoing, but I loved them ALL. Thank you for coming out to play with him!), but the angel came out to play, too, and for the first time ever, I wrote two of my pups into one oom.
See, I have studiously avoided these two meeting in my headspace. And now I find out they have backstory? And they didn't tell me? How is that even remotely fair?
Headcanon has also significantly progressed/adapted/warped to fit canon in a logical fashion that will allow for further character development. Which makes me inordinately happy, because there's only so much vamping a vamp can do before it gets OLD.
In short, I love this comm, I love the pups in it, and I love the players that have made my return to RP more wildly successful than I could have ever imagined. BOOM DE AHDA, YO.
The Milliways Homestuck contigent reached Cascade!
This didn't involve a lot of writing, just reactions, but I'm still pretty pleased, and I'll tell you why--when Karkat first came into the bar about three years ago, he was coming from less than an hour away from this pivotal canon moment.
The other trolls (plus Rose) came from around the same time, as they joined. And we inched forward, and inched forward, until for the last six months or so we've been about ten minutes away.
And now we've finally crossed that Rubicon, blown up two universes, summoned the Big Bad and launched everyone into trackless space for three years.
I actually EPed! Grantaire and Enjolras have a joint EP, in which they're talking to Jane Austen, Ganymede, 1952!Natasha, Gavroche, Teja, and Gaeta. All threads still in progress, and all threads enormous fun.
Enjolras is also talking again with Javert, still in slowtime. IT'S GOING GREAT. Well, it's going better than their prior thread, but that's not hard.
Also, Becca and I finally finished the Grantaire-Enjolras thread from Enjolras's EP. It continues through to the end just as fraught as it started, and makes me want to reach through the screen to hug Grantaire.
In non-RP news, I actually posted a fic! And I have been surviving the start of the semester and the busy workdays it brings. I'll take it.

Not install them, but actually write my own!
As for actual RP stuff, Gary going from zero to completely inappropriate in three tags was ridiculously fun.

- He's doing his damndest to get out of his room a little more and try to find a hobby. So far, that involves cooking zucchini pancakes with Nataliya and trying not to (a) laugh or (b) bury his face in his hands at The World's Tiniest Grumpiest Alien (aka Karkat). That post is still open until it scrolls.
- Bonus round: saying hi to Enjolras and Grantaire again! We have no idea if this is going to be awesome or end terribly. Possibly both. At the same time.
