Let's make this official:
Tell us your thoughts and feelings about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Are you considering it canon? Are you writing an app for one of the characters as we speak? Did you hate it?
THERE WILL BE SPOILERS IN THE COMMENTS, PEOPLE. DON'T LOOK IF YOU DON'T WANT DETAILS.

But I doubt I will have to worry about its effect on Howard Stark. Though if Joss and Co. read Hickman's short-lived SHIELD series, they could do some interesting flashbacks. More likely, I will be unaffected in the bar unless there really is an Agent Carter series.
It is clearly MCU canon, though. How often can a TV show boast the director of the movie it's spun off from as its director?

I think you're right about the big question, though, because the ones I saw could well be handled by reference in film alone, removing the need to watch the show to be up to speed on the MCU/movie-only. Time will tell.

It is meant to be canon, though. But I think it's canon the way the prequel comics are canon. Ignore it at will. I know I certainly ignore some of the prequels.

My previous comment re: it actually all being canon as far as Natasha and Milliways is concerned, still applies. That said, I found it FUN, and LIKE THE SHIELD IN MY HEAD, WITH PEOPLE AND GEEKRY AND WHEEEE, and I'm totally stealing what tech I like.
Also Fitz and Simmons are the best team of scientists ever, and I love their interdependent-ness. And Maaaaaaaay, May is great :D
Natasha, if I include the figurines, is going to freak out over hers. But that'll be fun.
(I am also, no lie, tempted to make her allergic to various truth-serums)

ON THE OTHER HAND I really enjoyed it and only having 2 MCU pups already is keeping me from figuring out how to lure someone in to play Fitz to my Simmons. Instead, there will be FIC.
... Eventually.

Welllll, officially Coulson was dead in Avengers...
There's wriggle room *g*

On the other hand it does look a little like Coulson put the team together using the SHIELD equivalent of going through the sofa cushions. Which is a nice Watsonian explanation for everyone's quirkiness and issues.

House shopping, rebuilding himself... You know, little things.

The show: had me kicking my heels in delight. COULSON. BADASS LADIES. FITZ AND SIMMONS. But I think what I like best is that we're seeing something similar to Iron Man 3: the human side of living in a superhero world. I love that.
Probably won't be apping anyone since my roster is pretty full, but I am so happy this show exists.

And man, Coulson actually got a bit scary there toward the end. I always knew the guy was capable of a mean bite, but yeesh, there's that lurking PTSD we all knew would be there somewhere.
Not apping anyone, because my Marvel headspace is pretty full with the stuff I'm doing with AU!Loki's canon.
Also, EEEE Thor 2 trailer! I cannot wait. Who's going to the midnight showing?
