Wednesday Shout-Outs!

Helloooooooooooooo, Milliways! I'm here to pinch-hit for the Wednesday Shout-Outs and, whew, it has been quite the week, hasn't it? There has been so much awesome going on.

  • Twilight Sparkle and Trixie Lullamoon kick off our mass de-aging, complete with pink and magenta lightsplosions. If you haven't read their thread, go do it! The antics and arguments are amazing.

  • Jessica Drew's OOM was so heartbreaking and so well-written, and I cried a little. No lie.

  • And last but certainly not least, Grantaire's latest post wherein he is A) hungover, B) up in the rafters, and C) I'm sure very confused. I have loved all the threads in that, but especially Enjolras'. There is all the aggrieved tolerance and I love it.

So what've youuuu been reading? Link them for us so that we may share in the awesome, and following Maru's lead, what quotes did you giggle at in threads?

Aw shucks...I swear I had no plans for that either.

Anyway, I cannot lie, I love the foul mouthed Joshua, both threads worth.

I also love wee Charles, especially the Noriko thread but then I'm biased to X-men.

I told Quinn, who is mostly asleep, that she's all over the shout-outs post, and she said 'fuckin' A.' And that I was free to quote her on that. :D
(Claudia isn't enjoying this very much, but IT'LL GET BETTER.)

Jean Valjean's latest OOM and I adored his newest EP. His thread with little Charles is one of my favorites of this plot.

Joshua trying to get a joint. Little Joshua is a hoot and one of my favorite kid pups for how different he is.

Stacker's EP, his reaction is hilarious.

Thank you, Don for the shout out, I'm loving playing little Charles.

Seconding the Valjean post (am now on my third thread there because Valjean is wonderful), and drawing special attention to the thread with little Noriko. That fellow is so wonderful with kids! He'd have made a very good teacher, if his canon hadn't been so horrible to him.

Everything about Grantaire, omg. I want to cry with laugh.

Seconded! Grantaire's entire post and all the threads in it - especially Enjolras - had me either smiling or cracking up.

Seconding the Grantaire EP, too. The thread with Enjolras deserves being milliquoted, even:

Enjolras briefly considers whether the ladder is a poor plan, and rejects the notion. It may be, but to leave Grantaire hung over and dangling from a rafter seems a worse one. He would inevitably come to grief.

That whole thread is just full of "See, Enjolras does have a heart". Even if it's a slightly irritated and practical one.

ETA: Not that it seems he doesn't if you're paying attention! But his relationship with Grantaire tends towards the exasperation more than that.

In further defense of his heart, Grantaire is slightly irritating like that, and definitely needs practical help.

Also, extra kudos to Grantaire for calling Hannibal 'Worst at helping', just more 1832 in the wording, in his very first tag.-

Oh, and as it's online now: Ganymede. Javert. Snark. 3000 years old immortal takes no shit, and that Frenchman who professes 'he does not care' over and over finally does care and gets angry.-

I've been avidly reading these and should speak up more often about them, as they are brilliant. So much growth!

Inner!Teja has been doubting whether he should ever offer the man sanctuary in Gotland again; he wouldn't want Javert to insult Adalgoth in some way. On the other hand, Wachis would be just the man to out-gruff Javert for good.

He's always welcome to take sanctuary in hard work in the Capital Wasteland instead! Assuming he didn't drop dead of an aneurysm or something from the sheer wrongness of the place, the only people for miles who speak any French at all are the ones who were kidnapped by aliens and frozen for hundreds of years, so it'd be pretty hard for him to insult anybody. And there's plenty of hard work to be done!

I guess we can keep batting him from world to world if necessary, and in each world he learns something...
road_to_calvary: (Oh Well)

[personal profile] road_to_calvary 2013-10-17 05:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Lol, yes guys! Keep him busy! He'll need respite from the stuff coming up with Valjean, and nothing clears his head like putting some work in.

Plus, his reactions to the Wasteland will be hilarious. :D

Thanks for the shout-out(s)! <333

We'll have to figure out some kind of way around the language barrier, unless you want him to mostly just do a lot of indignant flailing. I'm sure something can be done, though.

Javert has a, canonically, very expressive face. Even when he doesn't mean to. :D

...it would probably be a bad idea for him to come help out in Alyx's world, wouldn't it.

My other option would be to send him to Equestria for some pony-based reeducation (possibly involving cheery musical numbers about the Power Of Friendship!), but that miiiiiight be a bit much. ^^;

[personal profile] road_to_calvary 2013-10-18 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
*falls over* Oh man, I just....I mean, I want it! But it breaks my head; I cannot imagine what it would do to him. Can we please put it on the backburner for a later date, when he's (please, God) unbent a little bit, and more open to crack!plot? Because that would be gold.

Just not at the moment, because he'd freak the hell out. :D?

(Valjean, on the other hand, is being a troll and begging me to let this happen. His convict soul wants to see J subjected to it. :D!)

I suggested it as a joke, really, but I'm sure something can be arranged. My fellow ponymuns and I have some plotting of our own to get through in the next couple of months, anyway.

Well, there are many many Learning Experiments that can be had in the Warehouse, if you wish.

And whenever it happens, there is always Helena.

*grin* Hmmmm. We shall plot.

If you have any ideas, let me know, but I'm sure [personal profile] minkhollow and I can come up with something. :D :D :D

[personal profile] road_to_calvary 2013-10-18 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
Sweeeeet. I'll give it a think. I'm keeping him in-bar for at least the next month, to deal with Valjean, and start some stuff with Ellen. But beyond that, I must keep him occupied. So, yes! We shall definitely Plot. \o/
minkhollow: (end *all* the worlds?)

[personal profile] minkhollow 2013-10-18 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
That's more than fine - it'll give us time to work on canon stuff so it's not a giant smoosh. And then we can still pencil him in before shit hits fans! :D

HOW DID I MISS TINY!CAP.

(And to toot my own horn for a moment, I'm insanely proud of how this OOM turned out. There's a lot in a very little space there. :D)

[personal profile] herr_bookman 2013-10-18 07:28 am (UTC)(link)
Seconding the quality OOM and its follow up thread. Poor Claudia.
