HO HO HO!

It's that time of year again, except this time, we have a bit of a twist. (Modly approved :) )

So on the 25th December, Father Christmas will be making his usual trip to Milliways to deliver presents to the naughty and nice (see below). And if your pup wouldn't IC be asking for them, as before, feel free to have the Christmas they asked for in the past/might have had theoretically, etc.

This year, for the naughty pups, we have a twist (courtesy of Maru and Cass). Shortly after Christmas, the pups on the naughty list will be visited by Krampus, the arch enemy of Father Christmas, to be carried off to the labyrinth out back to escape via their own oom-style method.

Once they get to the exit, they will be able to pass Krampus once he's finished his showdown with Father Christmas, who will be very dischuffed.

And then there will be a party to celebrate everyone getting out (January 6th).

FAQ for Father Christmas

Q: How does my pup get a present from Father Christmas:

A: 1. Have your pup write him a letter and give it to the bar THEN sign up below.
2. Sign up below for them to get the present by other strange/magical ways.

Q: Can anyone get a present from FC?

A: Yes! Everyone who joins in will get a present. See next FAQs.

Q: Is my pup naughty or nice?

A: Please decide for yourself (honestly!) and state with your letter or sign-up comment whether you want your pup on the naughty list or nice list. For example, if your pup is, say, a career criminal, but does it for the good of mankind, then they can go on the nice list. It's up to you how you feel they've been.
For this year - if you want abducting but your charrie is nice, sign up on the Ministry of Elf Error list

Q: What can my pup get from Father Christmas?

A: If they are on the nice list, they will get what they want, within reason. Basic parameters are - under £30/$40 or so, not dangerous (no weapons/drugs etc), not magical, not living. Common Sense will be applied. If your pup asks for something that isn't possible, they will get something else.

If they are on the naughty list, they will receive something unexciting or unwanted: e.g. a book of Crime and Punishment or an orange. Abductions will happen on December 30th (you need to liaise with Maru if you aren't free)

Q: Can I join in if my pup is an adult, doesn't celebrate Christmas, or isn't human?

A: Yes, anyone can join in, if you want them to.

Q: My pup doesn't believe in Father Christmas, does it matter?

A: Get him or her to look over there. See that guy with the beard collecting letters? Believe now? Great, now you can join in.

This world ain't even what it seems at all

All right, who's excited for this? Despite being soundly on the naughty list, Autor will be staying behind for plot reasons. Namely, he knows what the Krampus is, having grown up in Germany, so he'll be the one explaining to those members of Security who haven't been abducted where all their patrons are going.

Also, we've made some changes, which we'll be reposting about in about a week, most notably:
1. Pups will be abducted in randomized teams of two.
2. You'll have to write their way out of four--you want more? take it! you need less? by all means!--rooms of the labyrinth on a set of keywords up for loose intepretation. For example: Vampires, Green, Masks, Cyber Bees.

Makes sense? Comments? Questions? Bueller?

Ha, that's bizarre. I literally just told Char I'd chuck Valjean and Javert into this, because it'd force them to buddy-cop their way out of it together. But if it's going to be randomised teams, that might complicate matters a bit.

The rooms idea is brilliant! Love that.

We were going to do randomised so nobody gets left out, but if people have a specific team in mind I have no problem with that either.

Or singly, if people don't have time over the season to do it in teams. Whatever people fancy is cool!

Qualita! I'd love to have them do it together, because forcing them to interact is easier when outside influences make it happen. And they'll even have to co-operate in this, which will be great. :D

And there are qualifiedly evil monsters!

Would you like to team up Enzo with Shufti, given protecting pregnant ladies is likely to come under his protocol, we operate at similar times of day and they have a similar skills level for fighting monsters at? That way we can also pre-arrange how to get him abducted.

Re: a Javert-Valjean oom, I hope Char's suggestion of randomizing a team unless one has a specific set in mind makes sense. I know we're sort of having two separate conversations here on the topic, and I appreciate your patience--and for looking into the plot!

No worries! All sorted. If you guys have no objection to them doing it together, I'll stick them in. I just need to decide if Javert goes on the Error list, or is a genuine candidate for Naughty. Tricky - though ultimately unimportant, because he'll end up in the same place regardless.

I'd say error. 'Naughty' implies some sort of bad intention.
