Daily Entertainment: Travel Edition!

Good Morning, Milliways!

It's a terrible day here in the wilds of Connecticut, so I give you today's DE:

Travel! Is your character well-travelled? If so, where have they been? If not, would they like to be? What's preventing them, or do they just not care?

Thor: given that he's frequently been to multiple worlds, I think we can safely say yes! He enjoys it. I don't think he has wanderlust per se, but he likes meeting new people and experiencing new things and being useful, and he likes excitement. He also likes fights, which policy frowns on him having at home. At the moment, of course, he's prevented from going anywhere offworld except via Milliways, because he kind of broke the Bifrost. (Loki started it!)

Clare is technically well-traveled, in that she's wandered all over most of the known-to-her world, which is a world where most people don't travel far. This is a Claymore's job: wander around as directed, kill monsters. Mostly they stick to their own particular region (there are 47) but they'll wander further afield for particular missions (team-ups, black cards, etc) as directed. She doesn't actually care. It's not as if she's getting to see much interesting tourist stuff. Milliways-wise, she's not, because she's never visited anyone's world. It hasn't really occurred to her. She'd need a reason.

Trowa is well-traveled, yes! He grew up with a mercenary troop who moved around to follow the fight; then they all died, and he went into space; then he came back to Earth as a guerilla fighter; now he lives with a traveling circus, and has friends in most of the space colonies. So he's been pretty much all over his world. He likes it. Trowa's a nomad at heart -- well, no. Trowa's an adrenaline junkie at heart, and he'd need to seek out more to keep him interested if he were living in one place all the time. Anyway, he has essentially no roots put down, and he likes it that way. Milliways-wise, he has to trust you to go to your world, or else have a goal and a secure exit strategy, which is why he's really only been to X's and Cass Cain's worlds.

Enjolras is not. I mean, he's moved from the south of France (the Alpine southeast) to Paris, and maybe done a bit more traveling within France, but that's it. He was certainly of a social class that supported travel, and he had the financial resources, but he has zero interest in leaving France.

River is! She's another nomad these days, who's been all over her 'verse. And she's my one most inclined to either visit Milliways folk, or get thrown into plots that (say) dump her in the middle of 21st century NYC. She likes it, for much the same reasons as Thor except without the brawling part. (Well, without the looking for brawls part.)

Regan is fairly well-traveled within the Core, between family vacations and business trips and campaign touring. She would really rather like to take another actual vacation, though. Touring with a packed schedule is not at all the same thing. She hasn't done a lot of Rim travel -- just whatever campaign-related stuff they've done -- and she hasn't done a lot of Milliways travel, not because she's opposed to it but because it hasn't come up. (In large part because she's not around Milliways all that much, so she hasn't gotten close to many people in an invitation-to-my-home-world way.) When she was younger she really liked travel, but now it's so routine that it's kind of boring and she would on balance rather sleep in her own bed if given the choice.
