Guys! I just remember that I put the idea of IMDb flu out there at the beginning of December, and even went so far as to get mod approval for it. And then completely forgot about it. But now I have remembered!

So, are we still up for it? I'm away at uni from next Thursday, for most of the following week - I could get it kicked off when I get back? Let it run through the first half of February, or so? Alternatively, if we're feeling keen and have icons available, we could just dive in this weekend.

Thoughts? Just a jump to the left? A step to the right? We should all move to Antigua? I'm up for that; good plan.

I'm still on the fence about if I will be joining but I have been waiting for word to run the DE suggestion tied to it. = ]

Sweet! I'm basically going to find the original post and see who first said 'I can be Patient Zero', and they get to go. I have no criteria for which pup would be more qualified. I think it might have been you actually, but let me check and get back to you.

Oooh yay IMDb flu is always fun! Am totally going to be on board with Hannibal. I'm game whenever you do it, even though I personally would prefer February, for reasons.

I'm entirely willing and quite enthusiastic to throw Thurlow in, but no more certain about my actual ability to keep up with posting during the plot than I was when you first floated it. (It could, however, be the kick in the pants I need to start posting regularly again.)

It doesn't matter to me when we do it. My posting issues aren't a schedule thing, it's a "oh no I forgot to post for three weeks"/"oh crap I have only been awake and in a decent state of mind between 2 AM and 8 AM PST when no one is in the bar and if I did a thread it'd take a week to get through 5 tags so why bother" thing. I mean, I've been trying harder to stick to a semi-diurnal schedule since late December, which should help with the second one, but I make no guarantees that I won't fall off the wagon.

Okay, this is where I concede my pathetic noobdom and ask; what's IMDb flu?

It's a bar-wide plot thing where your character can get flu-like sick and then act like another character your pup's PB has played. (e.g., I play Elle whose PB is Kristen Bell, and I'm thinking of having her "catch" the imdb flu and start acting like Anna from Frozen.)

IMDB flu is a plot during which you pup may become infected with an illness of some indeterminate nature. (Biological? Magical? Technological? Memetic? I dunno, it must mutate every year; no one has developed a permanent immunity to it!) But the symptoms are always that your pup thinks they are somebody else, most importantly some other character played by your pup's actor, voice actor, or even the person you use for icons.

It doesn't strictly have to be from the canon source/media you play the pup from. Otherwise, comic book pups would miss out on the fun.

We do/did have a Dean Winchester (bloody cast list is down, sorry), but if his mun is all right with it, it would be hilarious!! **enables**

Now here's an odd thought. What about if someone else in-bar uses that person for icons for a character from a non-visual canon. Because in that case, Jensen Ackles is also Apollo.

Since IMDB Flu is basically a Rule 87* plot, I don't see why not.

heck, the first time it happened, I brought in the cartoon version of Ray Stantz because his voice actor was Frank Welker. Every time Ray sneezed, his perception of which Frank Welker-voiced character he was shifted.

*Rule 87 of the List of Things Skippy Is No Longer Allowed To Do In the U.S. Army states that 'if the thought of something makes me giggle for longer than fifteen seconds, I am to assume that I am not allowed to do it'. Generally, if something M'ways-related meets the Rule 87 criterion of making one giggle for fifteen seconds or longer, it is to be assumed that this would make for fun RP/plot.
