And even though I've never played with him but because he's one of my favourite characters of G&S: The Pirate King - pants!

(The Pirate King hasn't been around for a while, he's sort of a guest star headvoice. When he's there he's loud but when he's not, he's not and he hasn't been for a time. Sorry for all the edits, been ages and don't remember his icons.)

Ruth always tuts when she works on his pants and tells him that they're tight enough already. She never understands that he has a reputation to maintain and he has the finest calves in the Atlantic.

Charm

His charm is what got him through junior high and high school and parties full of adults when he was a little boy. He found if he smile just right and be kind in the right way then no one would care that he had said something aloud he shouldn't have.

Though he knew charm wasn't reality, he heard the thoughts of men who wanted to charm his mother, their honeyed words that hid lies. His charm was based on truth as much as it could be. It was easier to be charming with people he liked but that wasn't always possible. His charm came into play with those he didn't like and when he couldn't rely too much science, then he had to nudge them along.

I like it. I love that Charles uses charm as a weapon as much as a tool. Very nice.

Its never easy to wake up before the sun's out but when the first light breaks as he's feeding the horses, William feels hopeful.

He can look out over their land and hear the cattle waking up and behind him, hear his mother making breakfast.

Sometimes he imagines he hears the steady knock of his father's false leg before a bird sings and reminds him that no, Pa's not coming back.
