DE: May the candles on your cake burn like the cities in your wake
How does your pup feel about their birthday? Or birthdays in general? Is the whole thing pointless or one of the highlights of their year? Does their culture even celebrate birthdays? Do they appreciate all the mortals who celebrate it for them? (I think I covered all the bases there.)

Charlie the orphan doesn't know when his birthday was. And has no desire to create a fake birthday based on when he was found. Birthdays are simply for other people.
Kirk obviously celebrates his birthday (March 22, based on Shatner's birthday), since we had that memorable scene from Wrath of Khan where Jim felt old. Some years he still likes to celebrate, others he doesn't. I should probably give him a cake this year as time runs out on him.
Knox is private about his. He passed 40 without a word to anyone but Rapunzel in 2011, and is maybe a little touchy about age since his girlfriend is virtually immortal. But he's never made a big deal of the day. Seems silly to him.
Gibbs comes from a time when birthdays were not a big deal, and people didn't always know the date. Or their ages.
Howard usually lets someone throw a small party for him, but this is more a social obligation kind of thing.
And Cy tries not to let the team know when his birthday since their parties are likely to go all wrong.

Giovanni shares it with his sister, and they have a party.
Sharpe doesn't know exactly when it is and doesn't really care. As a child, special things weren't happening and now he considers himself too old to make a fuss.
Harry probably would have enforced celebrations whether he wanted them or not, courtesy of Nita and Dairine, but he enjoys them.
Nancy cares more about making Jamie's birthdays special for him than doing anything for her own.
Jonathan probably goes for a drink with Andrew, if he remembers it's his own birthday.
Michael Carpenter is a father of seven, at least three of those still young children, with a wife who likes big family events. Yeah, there's a party.
Roshaun is royalty. His birthday is probably a public holiday, or something, and he hates every minute of it except what he gets to spend quietly with his mother.
Norrington doesn't care any more.
Gavroche doesn't have a clue what day he was actually born. Or the precise year, come to that, it could have been anywhere from 1821 to 1824. I think he's taken the day Asandir brought him back to life as his official birthday.

Bruce Wayne - doesn't really care, but has to throw a social bash anyway.
Bruce Banner - never used to care either way, but the more time he spends on his own, the more he wishes he had anyone who even cares when it is.
Valjean and Javert - I'm putting them together because my initial assessment of whether they even know when their birthdays are is probably backwards, if I think about it logically. Valjean had a family and parents; Javert was born in a jail. So while I first thought that Javert wouldn't know when his birthday was - there's actually more likely to be record of it. Valjean's the one who doesn't really know, though he (I) suspect it's sometime in the summer. Neither of them care about it, other than as a record of years finished.

Hank secretly likes birthdays but never tries to put much into it as he worries about being disappointed.
Brimstone was shocked at the idea of it, a celebration simply because a person exists and not for anything they did? He still doesn't quite get it but he tries to celebrate them for Karou's sake. His servants do a better job with the whole thing.
Quinlan is more into his children's birthdays now.
Andrea tends to get morose about her birthday because her mom isn't around for them anymore and she's pretty much friendless.
Anton...I'm not sure. I'm afraid I have no idea how the typical Muscovite thinks of birthdays.
Mulan, again not sure what the cultural expectation is. I can see her not wanting to make a big deal but Aurora making one anyway. Mulan wouldn't really show it but she would be pleased.

Regan similarly likes excuses for parties, although these days she's more likely to prefer an excuse to not have a party or social obligations, and instead to insist on some quiet family time with Gabriel (and ideally one or both children). She's kind of of two minds about counting the years, these days, but oh well.
Thor... to be honest, I'm not totally sure if Asgard celebrates birthdays, and either way I'm not sure if Asgard's years are anything like the same length as Earth ones. But whatever kind of regular celebration-of-one's-birth/continued-life/etc thing Asgard has, Thor is ALL IN FAVOR OF IT. Giant party! And he's one of the princes of the realm, so I'm pretty sure it is, in fact, a giant party, and not just a family one.
Trowa's birthday was arbitrarily picked when he was 15 or 16, when he needed to have something on his official ID and his sister said TROWA YOU NEED TO HAVE A DATE FOR PARTIES TOO, EVERYBODY NEEDS A BIRTHDAY. He let her pick it. (I don't remember what it is, though, oops. August 20-something, I think? I know it's a Leo birthday, because that amused me.) His sister enthusiastically celebrates it (there are truly terrible cupcakes and/or cake), and a couple of his friends join in, and he lets them do so, but it doesn't inherently mean much to him.
Clare has no idea when her birthday is, and no interest in celebrating it. I'm not sure if it's even a thing in her world's culture, but it definitely isn't for Claymores. There are a couple of significant dates she might commemorate privately instead if she knows what they are, but I'm not sure she does.
Enjolras knows when his birthday is, but I haven't picked one for him. (Although I did name him for a saint, so possibly he was born on the saint's day in question.) To be honest, I have no idea how much birthday celebrations were a thing in early 19th century France, so I'm not sure what his cultural expectations would be. I found a blog post at one point saying that at least in modern France, you host friends or take them out to dinner on your birthday instead of the other way round, and he'd certainly have been happy to do that (and have the funds to do so). Other than that I don't think it crosses his radar much, though. He's definitely the kind of person who would blink at the calendar and go "Oh, I guess it's my birthday today; I hadn't noticed."

Eriond: ...Doesn't really have a birthday, honestly... if he did, he might share with Garion. He doesn't care, though.
Lois Lane: Will loudly comment about not caring, generally doesn't want a party, but will naggingly remind her loved ones when it's coming up and honestly mope a lot if she's forgotten, because she probably did have more missed birthdays than she would have liked as a kid. Doesn't want a Big Public Fuss, but a good night of dinner and drinks and company and laughing with friends, and a pile of presents? Definitely.
Tavi: You know, we're never given reason to think that Alerans stress birthdays much, and in Tavi's case his family certainly didn't; Alia died that day and he'd been told all his life that she was his mother and died in labor. That said, his uncle--and therefore, I think, Tavi as well--knew that he was born during First Calderon, AKA 'giant battle of gloom and Alera-will-be-doomed.' Certainly in the future, when he know it went beyond that into 'his father was murdered' Tavi will never celebrate the day particularly.
