I sent my apps in a few minutes after 9:00 PM PDT on March 31st which works out to a few minutes into April 1st EDT. Did I send them in too soon? Should I resend?

No, they arrived after midnight EDT. You're fine. We'll start processing apps when the app period closes, or possibly earlier if one of us gets the time to do it.
