Daily Entertainment: When was that, now? Edition!

This morning, for some reason, I was thinking about Milliways in the shower. So, here's a historical question for you all:

Milliways! Where everything's made up and spacetime doesn't matter! What has been your most egregious use or misuse of Millitime? If you don't have a good one, what is one that you've seen?

Probably Elizabeth's two year pregnancy while I was dealing with RL stuff. Whoops.

Also I think Bing and I have said Raph and Alanna were locked out of the bar anywhere from five to nine years. It's kind of a joke now. I have NO idea what age the triplets are! :)

Aren't they in their 30s?

Oh, gosh, um. Let me think.

Well, quite often, I've used Millitime to have multiple contradictory events occur simultaneously - more than once, Atton has come in injured and been separately treated by about five different people. I think that's a pretty usual use of Millitime, though.

Steve's big sleep was about a week in bar time.

At the end of the original Half-Life, the G-Man turns out the lights on Gordon and we have no idea of Gordon's status. At the start of Half-Life 2 the game comes up with what looks like a dream sequence or a direct mental contact with the G-Man and Gordon then finds himself on a train in a strange place twenty years later. No specific explanation is ever given.

Instead of having Gordon go unconscious, I had him walk into Milliways at the end of the first Half-Life game, where he spent several months dealing with PTSD, getting by on three hours of sleep a night, and learning as much about combat, infiltration, etc. as he could from Sir Nicholas Fury and Rojhaz of the original Marvel 1602 miniseries. After a few months of Bar time had passed he went to bed upstairs and woke up on that train at the start of Half-Life 2 canon.

(This did not happen with Adrian Shephard. Shep was put into suspended animation at the end of his canon by the G-Man, and only brought back online when the Vortigaunts interfered with the G-Man's contact with Gordon at the start of HL 2 Episode 1. Millitime never entered into it for him.)

I think my only abuse of millitime is around the holidays. But given that holidays on Runescape usually run for two weeks at a time, I am abusing that too. Unfortunately I don't have the attention span to slowtime threads that much anymore.

Oh! For Quinn, New Statesman has republished an article from That time H.G. Wells interviewed Joseph Stalin. Millicanon/canon is that Helena's brother was the public face that got all the credit, though, right?

Helena was statuary in the '30s, so that would definitely have been her brother, yes. XD

I'm still pretty chuffed with staging Steph Brown's re-alive-ification after having her dead in-bar from pre-her-return-in-canon. The team went out with another canonmate into Steph's timeline from just before she died, and rescued her, and it was glorious. And then there were two conflicting sets of memories, one from how she was dead and lived in-Bar for six years and one because in a concurrently-existing timeline she was rescued by her BFFs from the timeline in which she was dead, and man, I should really do something with that, if I ever again find myself living a life that allows time for RP in it.

Things that come to mind:
Taking way too long to finish OOMs with other Muns.
Running too many threads with the same two pups in different EPs. (That can get so confusing, so quickly.)
Fixing timing of EPs and OOMs during Crossovers/Summer events (at least with my comic pups).

Everything I've done with Will and his canon, there's been so much bending of time. Also true of Sameth, Charles and Jane, basically if Bar time and canon time line up in any small way I'm happy.

Every thread is its own timeline is one of my favorite ways to play with time as is bringing in younger Will. I don't do it very often but I enjoy it.

Oh and ages, some of my pups have aged and some haven't due to me forgetting how long its been.

The Avatar is never late, or early, he arrives exactly when he means to.
And when he means to is usually every time he's in the Spirit World in canon, or if he just so happens to go somewhere when his friends aren't.

I'm taking forever to get Eponine out of Bar to finish canon; I've gotta do that. It's only going to be about a month or so for her in bartime.

And I just did a birthday post for Pinkie set two days earlier than today. IDEK, I abuse it quite a bit.
