If your pup were to conjure a Patronus, what form would it take and why? And also,  What happy memory would they focus on to conjure said Patronus?

Ace: It would be a cheetah, and the memory would be of when the Doctor offered her a place on the TARDIS.

Oswin/Clara: I was going to do separate ones for them, but given the reason there is an Oswin and a Clara, they'd probably have the same patronus, if different trigger memories, and the patronus would be based off of Clara, not Oswin. So... a dolphin - clever, with a tendency to get creative about solutions, playful, with a hidden viciously stubborn streak. Clara's memory would be one with her mum. Oswin's would be the day she was accepted on to the Alaska.

Jemma: I'd say hedgehog, due to being rather adorable with a tendency to curl up in a little defensible ball when threatened, but help me out here, 'cause that doesn't sound quite right. Anyway, her memory is the day she met Fitz.

Sam: Would be a river otter - almost unfailingly cheerful, clever, and prone to getting into things. Her memory would be that moment she and Mr Foyle were staring at each other over the bad guy she'd just dropped with a trash can lid, and he didn't send her back to the MTC.

Katya: It would be a Harris hawk (hunts in packs, very social, easy to train, tends to take on prey bigger than itself), and her memory... probably the first time Gesar let her patrol as a full member of the Night Watch.

Bones: It would be a mule - hard-working, enduring, ornery as the day is long. His memory would be the day his daughter was born.

William: It would be an Akita - unflinchingly loyal, sweet to those close to him, but with a reputation for going for the jugular when attacked/threatened. His memory would be the first time Aubrey praised him for a job well done.

Balthazar: Is scowling in the corner because this is the wrong sort of magic. *pats his head*

Possibly Jemma would work better with a pufferfish? Also adorable, but when threatened it goes FOOMP and there are spikes? And it could swim along through the air and pester a Dementor into running away.

But what would Balthazar's memory be?

Addendum: Hank's would be a raccoon for his quick mind and tinkering hands. His happy thought is Raven's kiss of course.
kd7sov: (Felix)

[personal profile] kd7sov 2014-05-08 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
For Felix, the moment would be the start of his trip home. Alchemy was restored, the world was saved, and his family was alive and together. As for the shape... I kind of want to say an owl, but I'm not certain that's right.

Fluttershy's would be a bunny, no question. Possibly Angel himself, if he doesn't otherwise exist in this particular reality. Currently the memory would be the end of "Hurricane Fluttershy"; previously she probably would have picked sort of a medley of Winter Wrap-Ups.

Kain would cast a dragon. If he could manage it at all; I'm not immediately coming up with any suitable memories. Kain's not exactly a happy person.

Amascut, before the Kharidian-Zarosian wars, would have had a lion. But in her current state, I think all she'd be able to conjure up with that charm are a bunch of confused maggots (still might be frightening for the Dementors, since said maggots couldn't really turn on her). But yeah, she's mostly with Balthazar up above on this one: Wrong kind of magic. She has crumble undead spells and her own kind of Devourer Beasts to use against such threats. Either that or she would offer them employment. As for a happy memory? She was the Goddess of Rebirth once; I am sure there was a mortal that was especially deserving of resurrection. Even though she now thinks that resurrection is a horrible thing, it would still be a happy memory.

Fairy Fixit would probably end up with a squid if she cast such a charm. Seriously intelligent, flexible, and adaptable. A happy memory would be the day she received her degree in teleportation systems engineering.

I'm prone to say that Mark's would be some alien beast, with spikes and fangs and more than the generally accepted number of limbs and/or eyes. But as he was born on Earth rather than among the Viltrumites (who don't actually live on Viltrum for plot reasons), he's likely to have some sort of hound, like a Wiermaraner. Loyal, brave, and surprisingly fierce when it comes to protecting its people. His happy memory would be playing catch with Nolan.

Ellen's, to her utter shock, would be a deathclaw; on a subconscious level she figures one of those would rip through just about anything. (It would not be a blue heeler. She considers Dogmeat a wonderful companion, but she's seen him futilely try to bite through metal one too many times.) The memory would be the day her signal project reached the alien ship in orbit.

Gordon's would be a bull orca. He has several candidate memories now, but I think the primary one would be Hope pulling on his beard after he got back from the Combine Overworld.

Shephard's would be a painter. It would be mean of me to say the happy memory was being told he didn't have to fly a helicopter any more (because he'd lost his right hand) but I gotta say, that's kinda up there...

Stacker's would be an osprey. The happy memory is of a Japanese bureaucrat bowing and congratulating him on the completion of the adoption process.

Edward's would probably be the bird he named his ship for, a jackdaw, and I believe the happy memory would be Caroline agreeing to marry him.

Santo's... not sure. Possibly a spider monkey. The happy memory is probably the first time he took a championship belt.

I don't know about Medic and I don't think I want to know.

Varric is opting out on the grounds that Dragon Age dwarves can't cast magic.

Will's would be a fox, quick, clever and careful and his memory would be when he was saved from the gallows.

Charles would I think be an owl, one of the massive ones who looks peaceful and then you see the talons and go, oh shit. His memory would be either when he first met Raven or his first kiss with Erik.

Moist's would be a lipwigzer, a breed of dog that his grandfather raised, clever, fast. His memory would be the first time he got away with a job and made a profit.

Sameth would have a badger or a beaver, some sort of hard working animal that's not terribly showy but knows how to build stuff. The memory would be his first kiss with Kait or the moment he found out he was a Wallmaker.

Jane would have a cat and her memory would be the first time she read something of her own work aloud.

I'm not certain of what Ivan's creature would be, some breed of dog that's loyal, a good fighter and pretty. Maybe one of the sheepdogs and his memory would be hm, I'm not exactly sure. I think some point when his mother was clearly proud of him or Gregor was.

William's would be I think a cat, seems small and not that dangerous but quick and with sharp claws. His happy memory would be his father returning safe from the war or the first night when Mark breathed safely through the night.

Demeter is always odd for these and hard, I'm not sure which animal, one that's ferocious about their children and her memory would be when Kore came home.

Tumnus would have a squirrel, quick, intelligent and at home in the trees and his memory would be when Lucy and Aslan freed him.

The Pirate King would have a bird, a heron or a stork, something beautiful but that hurt you if needed. His memory would be when he was first called Pirate King.

I honestly don't know for Henry.

Eriond's is, obviously, Horse. As for happy memory... goodness. Maybe the first time he and Horse went running together, or that time with Garion and Chretienne? Frankly, with Eriond he probably just picks whatever he feels like. Not that he needs to...

Lois and Tavi's both go through changes.

Assuming Lois is even able to get a corporeal one early one, it would start out as a blue bird (the glass bird her mother kept in the window), focused on a happy moment with her mom. Eventually I expect her Patronus is, well, Shelby (her and Clark's dog). What memory really depends on what year she's from. I'm not sure when the change happens.

Tavi probably only manages a corporeal one after book 3, so it starts off the First Aleran's crow. Obviously, it ends as a tavar. Happy moments shift a lot; until book three it's easily 'when Gaius told him he could go to the Academy,' and between books three and six it's easily 'I CAN FURYCRAFT NOW.' Post-canon, his wedding.

Thank you <3.

I came up with an Animorphs battle morph for Thurlow, and I think that's similar enough to repurpose it: their patronus would be a Slavering Dream-Hound, a sort of enormous nightmare-dog-monster that can travel in and out of dreams and protect or terrorize dreamers. (One of the pay storylines in Fallen London allows you to breed one, which can help you reduce your Nightmares.)

Either that or a great white shark. They like sharks.

The trigger memory is harder to come up with. Possibly the first time they looked in a mirror with their new shark teeth?
