DE: The weekend edition

Today I am traveling by train to a Maker's Faire about 20 miles or so from my house, which has me thinking about travel.

If your pup had to make such a trip, how would they chose to do so? This is part what technology exists for such traveling and part what type of means do they prefer if they had the means. For example, I could drive but am instead choosing to take the train as a sort of vacation.

Ibani takes a spaceship or a speeder bike when she's not stuck walking from place to place.

Kreyu prefers to fly under her own power.

Teleportation magic for all three of mine. It is pretty common and there are various kinds of it; non-magical teleportation is something that is being researched in canon, even. Amascut tends to enter and leave in a dramatic fashion via tornado, but sometimes via a puff of smoke. The fairies use the fairy ring network of course. And Evil Chicken vanishes and appears in a puff of smoke always.

I suppose 20 miles is still in the "maybe I can hitch a cheap ride on some passing wagon for most of it, there's gotta be a bunch of people going between Paris and Versailles (or Meaux), and I guess I can walk the rest" range, but mostly Bossuet is a diligence man. France had a well-developed national road system and a well-developed stage/post/diligence coach system for getting from one part of the country to another.

I believe Bossuet's lines in the book, when everyone's sticking around the we're-all-going-to-die-here barricade, are "Soon we'll be taking the diligence for another planet."

interstellar space diligence of the afterlife
it's canon

Felix walks, unless it's far easier to get there by water. Wagons exist, but appear to be mainly a merchant thing, and Felix is... well used to walking. Over the course of canon he literally walks on every significant landmass on his world, and all the way across most of them.

Fluttershy... these days the writers would probably have her take the train. We don't get any specific distances, and travel time even to Canterlot is immensely inconsistent, but more and more the Confectionary Railway Friendship Express is the transport of choice.

Kain would likely take an airship.

The Balladeer's a walker, but for distances that long, he might try hitching rides. He likes meeting people and is frequently a little careless about his own personal safety even if he wasn't largely from a period of time when people did that regularly.

For some reason I also see him really loving trains or Grayhound buses. And trying to make friends with all the other people on said trains/buses. This may or may not be irritating in the end.

Clementine Luxury jet, no contest.

Dixie Prefers luxury travel to, but would take a coach - depending on her companions.

Juliet No particular preference TBH.

Pinkie No preference either, she just loves to GO.

Eponine Anything but on foot.
