'sup guys! So I'm considering apping Rikki Barnes from Marvel Comics into the bar. This doesn't necessarily affect anyone Marvelverse, but I figured it might be a good idea to put up a "wait, what?" post about her. Because she's from an alternate universe where she's the granddaughter of Captain America's sidekick Bucky who wound up taking on the mantel herself, sacrificed herself to save her universe and wound up in the 616 universe instead.

It's a thing.

So yeah, posting here if anyone has questions, especially since she's pretty close with Steve Rogers, Natasha Romanov, Sam Wilson, and related to Bucky Barnes. Etc.

I'm not familiar with the character, but I am intrigued with the possibilities. (Head!Steve is fascinated with the idea of Bucky having children, let alone grandchildren.)

Ahahah oh god. Okay, so technically in her home universe, Bucky was Richard Barnes, who married Peggy Carter and wound up raising her and her brother. I mostly go with "grand-niece" for the familial connection, because fuckin' Marvel, man.

ANYWAY, I would love exploring Rikki and Steve at Milliways! Home-universe Steve was her mentor and kind of a father figure, and they are adorable and ridiculous and go bowling together. So she would most likely approach him at some point, though it might be kind of a mess since she hasn't had to meet a Steve Rogers yet who doesn't know her. And she might secretly stalk him for a little while beforehand. You know, with love.

ohhhh yes. Also, due to Wacky Alternate Reality Shenanigans, her grandfather was a Richard Barnes, so I mostly tend to roll with James being more-or-less her great-uncle. Possibly through a sibling that didn't exist in his world.

I like the great-uncle type of connection - especially given the fun cross-universal factors involved. :)

God, they would have the weirdest "families come in all shapes and sizes" info graphic. "Some families have a mom and dad. Some families have two moms, or two dads. Some families have just one mom or dad, or uncles, or grandparents. And some families span realities and include great-uncles who were brainwashed assassins for decades and children who took up their superhero mantel and now can never go back to their home universe again. All families need in common is love. ♥"
