Well, right now Ibani is confused about her username. :-D It will make sense to her after a certain plot OOM happens.

Kreyu likes her username of brave_kreyu, because she's been called that before and it fits!

Annabelle Newfield approves of hers too. She was a member of the AEon Society and her nickname was "Crackshot", so Aeons_crackshot is a good match for her.

(Oy. Somebody stop him, please.)

"Ah, you're just jealous, cuz I'm n ur base, bein l33t."

(I believe I have created a monster.)

"J00 m4d, br0?"

(Pray the Alternians don't hear you. Your accent is terrible.)

Lucas wouldn't mind a change, feeling a bit like the Needle thing was something he didn't fully understand. And he's not the only one who can pull the Needles, either. I should see if "sunflowerkid" is taken. He'd like that better.

Lohengrin would rather forget being "theknightoftheswan," but it's not changing. That's his name in Arthurian legend, so it's staying.

Mia loves "gorgonfondness" and wouldn't change it for the world.

Ooh, interesting one!

Enjolras would entirely approve of [personal profile] pro_patria_mortuus. He'd take it as a compliment, and as a truth that he's proud of. (It means died for (his) country, so, you know.)

Trowa, on the other hand, wouldn't especially like [personal profile] 3nanashi. It's outdated, he thinks -- 03 was never an identity as such for him, even if it's classified-but-accurate now, and nameless no longer fits.

Cosette would find [personal profile] lark_in_flight a charming image.

Thor would be a little wryly amused by [personal profile] mjolnir_retriever. He wouldn't find it the most accurate name -- he'd probably have a lot of other suggestions -- but he wouldn't actually object. (He wouldn't get the dog breed pun, and it wouldn't much change his opinion if he did.)

River would like [personal profile] river_meimei fine. It fits.

Regan's username is [personal profile] regan_tam, so... there's not much to object to in her actual name!

Clare wouldn't care much either way about [personal profile] demisemidemon, except maybe to quibble a little about the 'demon' terminology. She wouldn't love it, partly because she wouldn't see the point of a username but partly because it doesn't really speak to the parts of her that she considers important; she'd rather something with Clare in it, or something that refers more explicitly to Teresa.
genarti: Thor grinning enthusiastically. ([mcu] thor says :D!)

[personal profile] genarti 2014-06-06 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Probably yes! :D

I don't think he'd think it was very much like himself as dog breeds go, though, privately -- I mean, they're soft-mouthed, all their breeding is to not harm things, and uh. That's not what Thor's necessarily about. (I just like the visual joke too much to give it up, all the same.) But a noble breed yes, and he wouldn't be bugged or anything. Just amused.

Ellen would like it known that she is not agoraphobic any more. Much. At least not to the degree of freaking out in the big blue room to the point where she has to put her head between her knees and hyperventilate for a while, anyway.

Gordon's fine with acts_of_gord as his. It was never all that big of a thing, anyway.

Shephard says his (hecu_marine) is accurate and that he prefers it to the one he had on LJ (remindmeof_me) since it isn't a ripoff from that grayfaced assfucker sheep dog bastard shit in the suit.

Varric is quite happy with his (igetthatalot) since it is, after all, something he says in his canon when he's bantering with Isabela.

Stacker Pentecost is also fine with his; he has, as it says, never believed in the End Times.

Santo sees nothing wrong with his (el_enmascarado_de_plata); it's what people call him anyway.

Medic's not sure about the pun he thinks hands_of_blu is making but it seems about right to him.

Edward Kenway is fine with jackdaws_master, because he is.

Knox really doesn't get "Gotham Knocking." Plays on words aren't his thing.

Kirk appreciates "Works in Space" with a wry smile. Reminds him he hasn't talked to Gillian in too long.

Charlie would need me to explain what the "52" comic book was. And then he'd complain that it really has nothing at all to do with him.

Howard assumes the "The First Stark" will mean something to future generations. He's fine with that.

Gibbs is a pirate so "Pirate Gibbs" makes utter sense.

And Cy gets that he says "BOOYAH" all the time, but surely I could have done better.

Noriko thinks hers is a bit obvious, but she's not unhappy with it; she is an electrokinetic, so it works out.

Ganymede thinks his could be easily far worse than it is, and will take 'the_cupbearer' quite readily, thank you.

Finvarra likes his. (It has to do with him, of course he likes it.)

My possible app for next month just rolls his eyes at his username.

Hannibal would not be pleased at all to be known under a user name that states his great amusing secret so plainly upfront; Father Harman would make a slightly sour face at being named for an offhand nickname his snarkiest and most difficult team member refers to him with behind his back; and Katrina Crane, much as she loves Ichabod, would argue that she is more than somebody's wife, and doesn't get the trope-y reference at her undetermined state of existence.

The rest would have no problem plainly identifying with what their user names say about them. For Margolotta and Poins it's their names, for Teja his people, Madame Thénardier would say of course she's a soldier's wife, Lorenzo is named for his favourite exclamation (and has no idea about the historical connotations) while Tamara, for all she is concerned, is named for a song she likes.

Ugh, Bossuet's username comes from a ridiculous off-color history pun.

So this dork is probably really really proud of it. Probably one of the great high points of his life was telling his buddies about the one time he made the most perfect joke. High-fives all around.

Okay see so his nickname comes from this one really famous orator, right, so one time he said this thing to a girl that sounds like a phrase from one of the orator guy's big speeches, right? But then there's a sex joke and that's kind of a reference to another speech this one guy made and--

hey--

Enjolras is listening!

...Okay, that's a lie, we are all 100% aware that what's actually happening is Enjolras is thinking "I'm glad this amuses you" in all earnestness and then tuning out to think about France. BUT HE'S GLAD YOU'RE HAVING FUN WITH... WHATEVER DOUBLE ENTENDRE EXISTS IN THAT SENTENCE, HE CAN TELL ONE DOES, AND WHATEVER HIJINKS FOLLOWED IT THAT HE DOESN'T REALLY NEED THE DETAILS ON THANKS.

You bet correctly.

...Although he might've been in the corner fuming in detention-equivalent anyway for protesting about the teacher making them read a royalist's speech. I'm pretty sure "pick your battles" was something that took young Enjolras KIND OF A WHILE to learn. (Tiny ball of rage! Then less tiny ball of teenaged rage! Then eventually Walking Symbol Of Noble Revolution, as one does.) But nonetheless.

A Good Example Until You Look At All The Rage Happening: the wee Enjolras story.

Really you could have a themed set of them: A Good Example Until You Look At.... And then, er. Bahorel.

(Boo, DW! :O I have no idea what's going on there. It keeps ignoring one of my Cosette icons, but I think that's because I gave it two sets of keywords and it doesn't like the second or something; it displays the icon fine when I use the first keywords. Come on, DW, why are you denying the world Bossuet's sensual leaning?)

Amascut is currently 'death_gone_mad'. She objects to the notion that she is mad. Honestly, she would object to any username that isn't her own name, though. It is a protest against those who want to force the world to forget her. Of her epithets only Scourge of the Desert appeals to her. I could probably grab the username 'Amascut' for her but I like 'death_gone_mad' too much.

BTW, Amascut on Pintrest or WoW or RuneScape or MapleStory or Steam (or many other places besides that) is not me. It is mildy surprising that I was able to grab the name on twitter and that it is still available on Dreamwidth. :D

Fairy Fixit ... well, her username is Fairy_Fixit. No nonsense there, but she is disappointed it isn't more creative. It could have been bad creative, however

Eric was once a Viking so in that respect it fits him fine. He still thinks of himself as a Viking, so the "once a" doesn't fit perfectly.

Elrond is very happy with starrydome. Tolkien seems to have changed his mind about the meaning of Elrond's name, giving it first as Elf of the Cave and later on as Starry Dome or Vault of Stars. My personal head canon is, that when given the name by The Sons of Feanor it was indeed presented to him as meaning Elf of the Cave ( carrying with it connotations of hiding and thus cowardice). He hated it.
Then he joined Gil-Galad and the King offered the other interpretation to a young-ish person with identity issues. Who loved him for it.

Henry ([personal profile] operates_cobra) thinks that's pretty awesome.

Eriond ([personal profile] completederrand is wryly amused and admits it is fairly accurate, and is unobtrusive enough that he rather likes it.

Lois ([personal profile] presspasskey) understands the first half but not the ending of hers and goes 'Whaaaa?' about it. She'll get it one day. She doesn't mind it, she'll probably like it more when she's further in canon. (She does kind of envy my comics!Lois her journal name--[personal profile] wherethestoryis)

Tavi ([personal profile] student_of_impossibility) likes his much better than previous incarnations of it. It's also not florid enough to gain is ire, has a little adventure in it, and is fairly descriptive. He doesn't know who says the line about him, but he's willing to accept it with a raised eyebrow, some amusement, and that peculiar unreadable Tavi-face. I think he likes it. I think he's mildly smug. Hard to tell.

Joshua (damncompass) would grump at his, but he doesn't mind.

Helena (and I) aren't fond of hers (timelessinventor), but it does work. (Every incarnation of what I wanted (some version of is_a_woman) was taken.)

Valentine (empath_wiggin) can't deny that hers is apt, same with Mark (bohemian_mark).

Peter (notthewolf) wears his punniness with pride. (Because he's not the wolf!)

Fantine (dreamed_a_dream) is just bemused, but she secretly likes it.

Also, I am SO SORRY that I've been fail!DE this week. I've been hella sick and not thinking of anything. Damn anemia.

Will and Ivan like theirs as they're simply their names. (will_scarlett and vorpatril) Though Ivan would prefer being more than just his last name, but its better than a variation on Ivan, you idiot.

Charles finds his very appropriate and I like it even better after seeing Days of Future Past. (balancingminds) It wasn't my original idea for him, I don't even recall all the combos I tried until I found this one but its perfect.

William is kind of mixed about his (not_his_pa) because yes his father defines a lot of his life but not all of it.

Moist finds his (morethanprops) works well enough, he'd like something snappier as would I but I find it fits him.

Sameth (makesthings) likes his because its how he thinks about himself.

Jane (janebecomes) approves of hers as she enjoys the idea of moving forward to some future.

Demeter (wheatencrown) likes hers, because its one of her favorite artistic representations of her power.

Tumnus (friend_of_lucy) loves his as Lucy is the one who helped him and Narnia find a better future.

The Pirate King loves his (agloriousthing) as its the best way to sum up his life.
