Daily Entertainment, Shocking Edition!

In honor of a few things that have happened at work over the past week, I bring you today's Daily Entertainment:

Shock and Offense! What, if anything, shocks or offends your character? Is it something global like nakedness, or something very specific like people who wear pink hats on Tuesdays? Is there a reason for this, or is it just vague?

A lot of the things humans get up to, frankly, but one of the most everyday is sexism. Sprites simply don't have that, not having had to evolve from hunter-gatherers, and what with all the powerful, intelligent, in-control women in his life, he will laugh in the face of anyone who uses the phrase "the weaker sex." (That's not to say that female sprites aren't physically weaker than males on average, or that this is not acknowledged, but what they lack in STR they usually make up in DEX. It doesn't make them inferior.)

This is why both he and Dani got engagement rings, by the way. The way he sees it, if only the woman gets one, then either the man is being denied his own symbolic bling, which is unfair, or else the woman is being marked as property, which is beyond wrong.

Welp, Bossuet will be unpleasantly surprised if and when he finally hears about the whole "that nice Dr. Lecter fellow who made you soup when you got here is in fact a horrible horrible people-eating murderer" thing, but in general, unflappability is one of his defining canon characteristics.

then again that was a canon without space aliens, giant robots, and microwave ovens soooo

(He may not be as totally suave as he likes to think he is.)

Ellen's ability to be shocked kind of broke a long time ago. It's that kind of canon.

I don't know that Jess has a shocked bone left in her body. Spending your adolescence trained by HYDRA and then becoming a super hero will do that to you.

Brimstone doesn't get shocked or offended, just disappointed.

Coming from a pseudo-Victorian world, Isabella was startled to find out Ellen Park was a soldier. I imagine a lot of woman's strengths in the modern or alternative worlds will be a shock to her in the future as well.

Andrea is another who doesn't really do shocked any more. Well, being faced with a Cthulu-esk beastie might do it but she wouldn't even be surprised by Hannibal's actions. She lives in such a fun world! As to offended, harm a child and you will find out how quick her draw is.

I don't think Mulan does shocked or offended so much as confused; although telling her she is weak or women can't be warriors will definitely offend.

Amascut has the obvious, cats, but she is deeply offended by the undead and otherwise resurrected and those that raise them. Unlike her fear/hate of cats, she can keep her hate of the once dead under wraps though. Part of what annoys her about Milliways are the variety of undead that walk around confident that Security will protect them.

She was once the Goddess of Rebirth. She left the office for reasons.

Mildly shocking to her is misogyny. But she isn't the type of person to get angry about it. She sees it as a weakness to be exploited and abused.

Fairy Fixit's rage button is religion. She will find it hard to be nice to anyone she perceives as divine or anyone worshiped by a mass of followers.

Clementine: Rudeness, intolerance, teetotaling, prudery.

Dixie: She's mostly cool with people. Unless they're murderers. And then sometimes even then.

Juliet: Rudeness. Slow drivers. Bad coffee makers.

Eponine: Injustice, hunger and poverty.

Pinkie: Meanness. Promise-breaking.
