DE: It's coming right for us

There’s a natural disaster and it’s moving in fast! How does your character prepare for it? How does your character deal with the aftermath?

Enzo would help as much as he possibly could with the evacuation beforehand and the rescues and cleanup afterwards. This is assumed to be in a Dani's world or some other User world that he's visiting; in his own world, the closest thing they have to natural disasters are system errors, the mending of which is part of his function anyway.

Gordon primarily deals in unnatural disasters, I think we can safely say that. Laying up supplies and sealing the windows are probably on his list of things to do, though.

Shephard's primary experience with natural disasters happened when he was six- the Cheat River had a century flood or worse. He's gonna be evacuating as many people from the area as possible, preferably on Borealis so he can keep count of them all; if there's an actual flood involved he may contribute to sandbagging efforts to protect property until the owners come back. He may reluctantly do search-and-rescue in a helicopter afterwards to look for survivors and the dead.

Stacker Pentecost, like Gordon, primarily deals in unnatural disasters, and if you do not know what he does in the face of them then go watch Pacific Rim already.

If the first five minutes of his canon and the Treasure Fleet section of his canon are anything to go by, Edward's response to natural disasters is to attempt to ride them out, then steal something from his fellow survivors and run away. There may be identity theft involved.

Sunshine can batten hatches with the best of them, and will work to protect herself, her people, her home, her workplace, and the homes of those she cares for. She's able-bodied enough to help haul sandbags where they need to be, and is competent enough with tools to affix storm doors and reinforce windows. If some of her elderly or poorer customers need help in protecting their home - or even if they need a place to shelter - she will offer what she can.

Afterwards, Sunshine's first responsibility will be to make sure all of her people are safe and well. Dealing with potential property damage comes second to making sure lives are safe. Then, she'll first make sure the coffeehouse is okay, and check to make sure their stores aren't contaminated or can be gotten to adequate refrigeration if the power is out. She'll help in the cleanup, and with Charlie make sure all of the clean-up crews in the area are provided with free food and drinks while they work.

In short, Sunshine takes her responsibility to her community seriously, and will help in whatever way she can.

Yrael, likewise. He has somewhat more resources at his disposal in this area than Sunshine, able to set magical protection on places under threat as well as able to work tirelessly to help prepare for whatever is to happen. He has weathered hurricanes in New Orleans, and helped with both preparing and clean-up afterwards. He has also held benefit concerts to help raise money for disaster relief, in the wake of damaging storms.

First priority is, of course, evacuating people and/or building what they need to protect them. Tavi rarely does that himself anymore, however; he organizes the people to get it done. Once he's got that in the works, he can turn his attention to the disaster itself.

Then he declares war on them, finds their weakness, takes them the hell out.

Afterwards he organizes the clean-up, helps personally where he can, all the while drawing up plans in his head for how to make it better while rebuilding.

(Applicable to both natural and unnatural disasters. I think he might count as an unnatural disaster.)

Zecora's hut, in the forest's embrace,
is more vulnerable than a more settled place.
She would take what she could, the rest batten down,
and go to join her friends in town.
Then she'd aid with medicines and invigorating brews
for the rescue teams and weather crews.

Joshua and Helena would get everyone they care about into the Warehouse and activate whatever weather-diversionary Artifact they have (because there has to be one), and just wait it out. Afterwards, they'd both probably dig in and help Univille rebuild.

Valentine, Peter, and Fantine would all hide as best they could.

Mark would be that jerk out in the middle of it, filming and narrating.

Mark will be out in it, trying to evacuate/save people that he can. If it's a disaster caused by supervillains, he'll be dealing with them. (One of his Rogues Gallery is a guy named Doc Seismic. Guess what he does.)

Afterwards, he's out, moving debris and looking for survivors. His powers make him a pretty effective "crane with a brain" (as he explained it to an Army Engineer after San Francisco got leveled), so he's willing to lift, move, and demolish as needed, as well as discourage looters (and possibly jerks with cameras who are filming and narrating when they could be helping).

Thor: Depends. Is it a natural disaster he can punch? Or one where having some storm-related powers is useful rather than a thing that would destabilize weather patterns catastrophically? Then he'll punch and/or storm-control at it!

Otherwise, he's on evacuation duty if we're not on Asgard. If we are on Asgard, he's still working to ensure as much evacuation and magic shielding as possible, but he's doing it as the king's heir and a war-leader of the realm.

Enjolras: is a lot more used to street riots and epidemics than natural disasters, but he's very, very good at mobilizing and directing people. He would do so. (He's a last-in-the-retreat kind of leader by inclination, so whether he'd actually survive into the aftermath depends on a lot of factors, but if he did he'd be working to mobilize there too, and consulting a lot with his more medically-minded friends about what needs mobilizing where.)

Cosette has already been whisked out of the way by Valjean and told not to worry her pretty little head about it. Uh.

River is another in the "mobilize and direct" category, although I'm pretty sure in her case it's "mobilize, direct, flee on Serenity with the rest of the crew when it comes to that point." And then come back with, ideally, some kind of relief supplies. Call on her father and other Core connections if the situation warrants it and they're not already sending the relief supplies ASAP.

Regan: is a minor public figure, which means a certain amount of mobilizing people and Being A Good Example, but also means she's probably getting evacuated relatively early in the process since she does have bodyguards etc and doesn't have a lot of immediately useful skills. In the aftermath, leveraging as much as she can for relief to be brought and coordinated.

Clare: is, like Thor, on punch-it-in-the-face-or-evacuate-the-humans duty. Unlike Thor, she has no storm powers and no real leadership skills to bring to bear.

Trowa: is somewhere between Enjolras and River on this, except without their Leadership Charisma™. He'd definitely be a guy on the ground helping to mobilize and evacuate/sandbag/etc and triage, though, and then a medic in the aftermath.

Carol has excellent taste in disaster response! PUNCH ALL THE THINGS. :D

(They really should meet in-bar sometime.)

Jay - it depends were he is. If he's in his own world, no worries. Jay's basically a nomadic loner. When the storm hits, he'll be bunked down somewhere safe, waiting for it to pass. He'll help with the recovery but only so long as it takes to help people and move on. Here in the bar, he has too many attachments, too many friends to protect and defend. It'd be different in the bar.

Olivier - has known war and siege and knows how to deal with both but has no experience with natural disasters. But he's calm in a crisis and useful so he'll at least be useful in the aftermath.

David - spent several years in the jungles of Vietnam during the war so he's a survivor. He's level-headed and steps easily in to command if needed.

Minx - is completely inexperienced in disasters and she might be a bit useless at first but she's a trained agent, she'd get on top of things quick enough.

Clementine: Shirk work, openly steal from abandoned businesses, head for high ground at first opportunity.

Dixie: Would likely lean on her Gryffindor side and help people beside Brisco versus giving in to her Slyth side and profiteering or simply smashing her way to safety.

Juliet: Would be on the front line sandbagging and on the relief effort after.

Eponine: Would hide like a shadow, steal when and if she could and try to be opportunistic but her heart would betray her.

Pinkie: At Twi's side, helping and fighting and making great donuts to keep their bellies full.
