"You do know we're in Gotham right?"

"The door on the right, or possibly the skylight in your case," Yes, Jay spotted her coming in, "leads back to the place you left at the second you left it. Time doesn't pass when you're in here. The people are friendly and mostly safe, the first drink is free and there's always somewhere warm and dry to sleep with no strings attached."
He shrugs. "I wish like hell I'd found this place when I was on the streets. Would have been a hell of a lot easier than ducking the cops and the gangs for somewhere safe to crash!"

And holds it.
"Is that real?" Cause if it's not, that is the most high definition screen she has ever seen.
no subject
"Yeah, it really is. As messed up as it sounds, it really is. I've been living here on and off for the better part of a year. I'm kinda the bar's unofficial mechanic. The name's Jay."

She manages to tear her eyes away from the visions of the end of everything and blinks a few times. A bit shell shocked, she leaps down to the floor, landing in a crouch with barely a sound and then winces as she realizes she left his food up in the rafters.
"Sorry, would you mind grabbing the plate?" She could get it but she'd have to climb up on the booth and the management might not like that.
no subject
"Yeah," He manages to answer calmly. "This place is no end of weird." He hands her the plate, careful not to put himself between her and the door.
no subject
"Man, I've seen lots of weird shit of course, I mean who hasn't who lives in Gotham, but a bar outside of...well whatever it's outside of. I'm not even sure what to call it. Space?"
small>[OOC: Sorry Jay. ;P ]

He nods to the door. "Out there is the gardens, the lake and the mountain. Beautiful clean air and actual stars at night." No permanent smog layer.
"There are rooms upstairs where people live or just say for a bit. The Bar is alive and magic so all you got to do is ask and what you want appears. Although there are a few things she won't hand over no matter how nicely you ask. Downstairs is a garage containing every vehicle ever made. And my workshop."
{ooc: never be sorry for torturing him. It's far too much fun!}

"That seems silly and unlikely. I mean why not say 'Abracadabra'? But if it works, who am I to argue."
"Why were you on a motorbike trying to outrun a sandstorm? Didn't you know one was coming?" Cause obviously sandstorms can be predicted, or so this city girl thinks.
no subject
"The sandstorm, no but I knew the goons of a very pissed-off drug lord were. The gamble seemed like a good idea at the time."
no subject
"Why were they pissed off?"
