DE: Genre mashup

If your pup were to have a divine parent or ancestor, whom would it be?

Or, since that may not click or be appropriate for your pup, what would they be if they were in a urban fantasy? And since a lot of us come from urban fantasies, how about if they were in a different series?

Or let's throw the door wide open, what would they be like in other genres? Weird west, steampunk, Lovecraftian horror, fantasy mystery, whatever!

OK, let's get this ball rolling!

The first divine parent/ancestor that comes to mind for Selina is Bastet, which is mostly a good fit. I think Selina does have a protective streak but it's opportunistic, at least for now. In other words, she'll be protective as long as it doesn't endanger herself. Freya is another that comes to mind, especially with how her adult self is portrayed in comics and other media. Hermes could be a good choice as well given her thieving nature. As to urban fantasy, Tybalt would be the first to claim her as cait sidhe but I could also see her as an urban shaman with a stray cat as a totem.

Tybalt is ever himself and refuses to play. I can sort of see him as a Hermetic Mage/CEO type though.

Quinlan is another who doesn't fit the divine parent thing, nor the urban fantasy. I can see him as a wandering Shaolin monk in the Old West though.

Sam could perhaps be part angel?

Amascut already has divine heritage in her father, Tumeken, god of the sun (and radiation, maybe), and in her mother, Elidinis, spirit of the river Elid and fertility. If Amascut herself were the divine parent of anyone (most likely someone cat-like), it would be a very strained relationship if the eternally spite filled relationship between her and her head priestess is any indicator.

But for fun, if I shoved her into a Lovecraftian Horror, she would likely be the mad priestess of an elder god. Her actual canon might be headed that way anyhow.

Fairy Fixit... maybe Hephaestus or Wayland the Smith? I don't know if she would be considered progeny, but maybe more of a creation.

Oh, Evil Chicken goes away, but he always comes back. It's kind of like the universe ran out of monster ideas but still hasn't resolved its hatred of you. :>

I'm committed to the idea that the Master of Ceremonies is the result of the unholy union between Loki and Dionysus.

Can I call Raava for Aang?
Because...yes, that.

Also, I'm going to cheat and say Aang is already a divine parent for Bumi.
LOOPHOLES! MWAHAHAHA!

Raph and Mike could come from the world turtle, I guess.
And Splinter from...uh...Death of Rats, yeah I have no idea.

But I love the idea of them all in various places. Ugh so many to choose from!

Will would be someone like Herne, a forest god.

Charles would probably be Athena though I'm not sure there might be someone else.

Quentin, I don't know actually.

Moist, I think Hermes or Loki, some trickster.

Jane, one of the muses or someone like Athena.

Sameth, definitely a creator like Hephaestus.

I'm not sure about William or Tumnus and Demeter doesn't really count.

Kreyu could easily be the spawn of Bahamut or Tiamat, what with the dragon element of the mythology there.

Ibani doesn't really fit the whole god-spawned deal, but if she were stuck in the sword and sorcery fantasy genre she'd likely be the evil sorceress. (Who isn't really Evil, evil, but someone has to provide the lessons/trials for questing heroes.) There is, in fact, a character like this in one of Mercedes Lackey's Tale of the Five Hundred Kingdom's books named Arachnea.
