DE: No hot water?!?!?

Somehow, your character has been stranded in another time. What do they miss most of their world, aside from friends and family?

Ichabod says everything. But he's adapting.

Her bakery, most of all. And then, easy access to a variety of vegetarian foods, her cozy little apartment, her own bed, her books... the list goes on.

Time is weird enough for him anyway that I don't think he'd even really mind a whole lot. It'd be fun for a while! He'd try to make his way back eventually, though, if only because he wouldn't know what on earth to do with himself stuck in one time.

If there weren't chili dogs, Mark would invent them.

The horrifying mutated homicidal wildlife? The need to carry a Geiger counter at all times? The incredible scarcity of important medications? The lack of flush toilets? The omnicidal conspiracies? The shambling skinless wrecks that used to be humans before they got sick? I dunno, there's just so much to choose from.

Valjean only has Cosette to miss.

Gene - football. His favourite beer. And pub. Manchester. The station. Basically, everything. He created his perfect world, there's nothing he wouldn't miss. (Except paperwork, but he never does that anyway.)

Javert - well, he was stuck in Milliways for a year, which is much the same thing. His problems stem from within, so missing things isn't really the problem.

Courfeyrac - apart from his friends? Paris, then. Cafes and late nights and wine and conversation... but most of those things also involve his friends. The food he's used to, perhaps? The political struggle too - it might be awful in its way but it gives him a worthwhile purpose.

Robin - is actually pretty adaptable. He's lived his life travelling, so doesn't get attached to things. At this point in his life, anyway.

Will's been in other times, not stranded, no, he has been stranded. For him its Sherwood and his friends and family. I once tried to play him in a game where there was no way home, it really didn't work with him, he needs a way home.

Charles is trickier, a lot of it comes down to people for him though he would miss his comforts of home. His books, his tea, his Scotch.

In someways Quentin is far from home as he's originally from around Toronto and has been fostered to San Francisco for about ten years. And from Toby he's learned more of the modern/mortal world. Many Fae don't interact with it a lot, he didn't until he met her. Now though he'd miss movies and cell phones that work even in the Summerlands.

Moist wouldn't miss too much, he's incredibly adaptable, maybe he'd miss some foods but otherwise you could plop him in another world and he'd do fine.

Jane would miss her family, her friends, and knowing all the societal rules but she would probably appreciate that she might have different freedoms.

William would miss Mark, his mother and the openness of the sky in Arizona but he wouldn't miss how tough life is. I keep wanting to get him stuck in a modern world for a while, that was going to happen with Bill and Kate then life happened.

Demeter has lived through enough times that it wouldn't phase her, what would bother her is if she didn't have a way to contact her daughter.

Sameth has actually had this experience as Ancelstierre is like 1920s England and the Old Kingdom is medieval. In Ancelstierre he missed most the connection to the Charter and small things like riding with a sword by your side.

Ivan, oh Ivan would miss his family especially his wife and lots of aspects of technology.

Tumnus is a strange one for this because it wouldn't be as much another time as another place and its what he gets a lot when he visits Milliways, the completely different context.

This is fascinating for me as most of my characters have that cultural shift of another time just by coming to Milliways, so putting them in another time/place wouldn't be that much more compared to Milliways.

Clementine: Makeup. Pot. Free-love. Her soap operas. The Dan.

Dixie: Being renowned.

Pinkie: It mostly WOULD be her friends. I think she'd even adjust pluckily to ancient or modern cooking methods.

Juliet: Coffee, cake, luxuries

Eponine: Next to nothing, except for the general excitement of life in France.
