Halloween is just around the bend! Anyone have Milliways plans?

For the benefit of those who are new and have never experienced a Milliways Halloween, we typically have two things that occur, both of which are completely voluntary. The first is costumes! Pups usually come in and their clothes change to whatever costume we muns find most amusing. Typically this doesn't cause a physical transformation, that is usually reserved for Cubefall, but hey, it is a magic bar right?

The second tradition is Conversations With Dead People and pretty much is what it sounds like. Often this one is written up as a dream within Milliways, but again, the only rule is to have fun.

So anyone have any plans? Anyone need suggestions? Tag in and let us know!

Amascut as Force-Captain Catra from She-Ra. But first I have to resubscribe and I promised myself not to do that until I get a job. So. yeah. Might not happen. Hopefully it will! If it doesn't though, Amascut will be happy I am not shoving her into another Day of the Dead celebration. :3

((Joly and his friends pretty much *are* Conversations With Dead People, so that's probably not going to be too dramatic a shift. But dressing up sounds great! It's mun's first Halloween here too- Are there usually parties in Milliways, or do people just wander the halls in weird outfits? Because either way sounds great. (Also please tell me there's Halloween Evil Karaoke.))

I am tempted to have Quinlan come in dressed in orange and green swimwear, for no reason really. ;p

Aside from that, I can't think of anything. This may change of course.

ETA: And dressing Tybalt in a pet costume is making me snicker. For instance, Dracula, batcat, Elizabethan cat, or (oh gods he would kill me) Puss-In-Boots.

If I had been playing Sam Wilson, I'd be tempted to do a CwDP and have him reconnect with Riley but that will have to wait until next year.

Only one I am doing anything with is Tavi. He will not get a costume, because he will be in from one of the worst days of his life in canon--but he will get CwDP. I need to write the blasted thing.

After all, he has a relative who died six months earlier he never got to say goodbye to...

I expect one or two of mine might get CwDP. Javert will definitely get stuck in some kind of costume. Valjean...I am actually going to be nice for once, and spare him. That poor chap's got enough on his plate at the moment. :(

I don't have any major ideas for mine yet.

Quentin will possibly get a costume, a variation on a Disney prince and no human disguise. I have a conversation I want to do for him but the person isn't technically dead, he just has to act like they are. Somehow I'll figure a way to do it.

Charles is one that's always fun for costumes considering how many things James McAvoy's been in, I just have to pick one. Will's been in many of these outfits too, so now its Charles' turn.

This is also true for Moist with Jude Law's amount of roles, but again need to pick one.

I've been thinking about doing more with Jane so I might put her in her outfit from Twelfth Night again as she enjoyed wearing breeches.

Those are the only ideas I have at the moment.

Hmm, yeah, between the Actual Dead Guy and the Actual Werewolf, my characters kind of already have Halloween covered. But Bossuet, at least, is down for any form of partying!

The lowercase half of the Goth alliance has been busy with PLANS for this Halloween since she missed last year's on account of Sigyn's murder and Loki's slow recovery. Self-replicating gold plus bored perkygoth plus her favorite day of the year... trouble is coming. ^_^

I don't know about the rest of mine yet, but I'm definitely dressing up Mirai and have a CWDP ready to go for her.

Halloween being a Friday sort of interferes with my timing. But I probably will do something with Cyborg on Saturday evening.

Ibani will be getting a costume and Kreyu will be turned into a plush dragon!Maleficent, to her ire.

I haven't decided if anything's going to happen for Sariel yet. Possibly a costume, though I'm not sure what. A CWDP might break her or me, so probably not that this year.

I'll try to put in at least one person with a costume! I haven't totally decided who, though, because I haven't come up with any genius ideas. Thor and Enjolras are the most likely people for an EP, followed by Cosette and Clare, and I'm willing to hear costume suggestions for any and all of them.

Conversations with Dead People, I'm mulling over. Enjolras and Clare are the only ones who live in-bar and thus the easiest to arrange, but I dunno... I did have an idea for Enjolras that I didn't do last year, but I'm not sure if he's currently in the right emotional state to have impetus for that one. We'll see if inspiration strikes, I guess.

My recollection of Conversations With Dead People is that the way it's been done in the past is that the character has to fall asleep somewhere in Milliways, and then they have a dream of this conversation -- which genuinely is a dream in that it occurs while they're asleep and no one else in the room would see it. But it also feels much more 'real' than the usual sort of dream, and doesn't contain any wacky dream logic other than the dead person being there and possibly the dreamer being calmer or having more clue of what's going on than they otherwise would.

But as you say, it's Milliways, so variations can definitely happen!

Sonya's costume will be this. Something dark, frilly and doesn't hide the fact that her left leg is covered in old burn scars.

Matilda..she's going to be a ghostbuster of course.
