I am about to post into the main bar with Sam leaving a note looking for sparring partners. All are welcome to take him up on the offer, if you'd like, and I am fine with hand-waved continued training; i.e. I don't feel up to threading every fight. = ]

Is it evil of me to consider throwing a certain Sith at him re: sparring?

I don't know if it will happen but Will Scarlett could be really helpful for this and I've finished my fact checking. Hopefully I'll have more time now. Of mine, he's the first one that comes to mind.

I'm not around a whole lot for the next few days, so I don't know if you want me to tag in or want to do this later, or want to put it off entirely until Sam's further into future canon since we don't yet know how they'll meet onscreen. But Thor is generally up for sparring, including with squishy humans who would like to get better at fighting stronger and less squishy people!

My take regarding future canon is that Sam will know who Thor is whether they met in bar or not, seeing as how Thor is such a celebrity. In other words, yeah, let's play!

I'd love a tag this time but if you're not available in the next few days, maybe we should wait until next time? I'd love to say I'd be fine with a slowtime but I know I drop those without meaning to.

I do plan on future sparring notices--ones he'll even mention where he is--so this will be easy!

Sounds good! I'm totally fine with Thor meeting canonmates before he does in canon, too, as long as he doesn't get spoiled about what Loki's gonna get up to. (At least, not about Loki's part in it.)

And yeah, I would love to say that I'm fine with a slowtime but I also tend to accidentally drop them, so it sounds as if it'd make more sense to hold off. Sam probably doesn't need all his new sparring partners to show up on the same day, either. I'll keep an eye out for the next one!

For future threads, is Thor up to the first Avengers movie? Knowing Sam, he wouldn't bring up Loki out of respect for Thor's feelings anyway, but best to make sure. = ]

No -- I need to take him through the first Avengers movie, but I haven't gotten around to it yet (or even to figuring how how exactly I want to play it out.) Right now he's still hanging out in Asgard in the couple of years between the first Thor movie and the Avengers movie -- Loki's presumed dead, the Bifrost is still broken, Heimdall can watch other world but they can't easily get to them, so he's pretty much restricted to Asgard and Milliways (and other Milliways patrons' worlds.)

OK. I'll play Sam as cautious with info, since he's now met Elrond and Rikki, thus knows people don't always come from the same world even if they look the same.

Sam can totally mention the Chitauri or whatever -- I don't care if he gets some spoilers, I just don't want him to find out that Loki's alive and being a supervillain before he canonically does -- and if he does and Thor reacts by having no clue who they are, that might be a useful tip-off right there. We'll make it work, however it goes down!
