To no one's surprise, Caitlin has a cup of coffee and a medical report to thumb through in-between watching the world explode and wrinkling her nose a little at the waitrats.

Sorry, she just hasn't gotten used to them yet. Even if they are a little bit cute.

Not far off, Howard is reading the financial section when he spots the young woman. And greets her with a grin.

She smiles back vaguely - does she know him? She feels like maybe she's supposed to know him.

"I'm not interrupting, am I?" Always smart to check on such things.

[bleakmidwinter]

"Oh, no, you're not." Caitlin quickly closes the folder she'd been thumbing through. If he's quick enough, he might notice a picture of a young man in a hospital bed and some medical notes on his condition. "Did you want something?"

Howard sees the notes. They don't mean much to him, though.

"Just saying hi to someone I haven't seen here before."

Oh good, she doesn't know him. For a moment, she'd thought he might be one of the Star Labs' investors. He had the look.

"I'm Dr. Caitlin Snow."

"Howard Stark. No doctorate to speak of." Yet. Honorary ones are forthcoming, of course. "New here?"

[bleakmidwinter]

Of course.

"Relatively speaking." She's had the spiel about what it is and what the rules are, but she's by no means comfortable in the place.

[thefirststark]

"It takes a lot of getting used to. I've been here on and off for three years, and it still surprises me." And he is not one to be surprised easily.
