Three days of winter wonderland and I'm ready for spring to come, Milliways. So warm us up with tales of threads! Share your holiday adventures! Or even a really good Christmas cake recipe! I don't know, it's cold!

I made it home from New Jersey yesterday, and have a new jacket, a Handbag of Holding, and a history of aviation from kites to the Space Age to show for it. My nephew and oldest niece are clearly being raised in the proper cinematic tradition, because when we played the Monster Game (a version of tag in which I lumber around the hard going "grr, argh" unenthusiastically and they run away screaming), there was a pretty fair bit of shoving the other one ahead and yelling "RUN FOR IT! SAVE YOURSELF! I'LL HOLD IT OFF!" despite them being nine and seven respectively. Gotta appreciate that. Also one of my younger nieces decided she really liked the Heartskull Hat I knitted and has been wearing it, which is extra adorable given that she's three.

As for the game I'm happy with Shephard accidentally setting off a boxsplosion. And I have seen a trailer for Jackie Chan's new movie Dragon Blade, which comes out in China in February, and which includes Adrian Brody and John Cusack as ancient Romans; there will be some holiday or plot or something next year that will include Shephard stumping around irritably in Roman legion armor.

I celebrated Saturday with friends from out of town by going to a Broadway show double feature of Cabaret and Hedwig and the Angry Inch, quite possibly THE best back-to-back combo ever. We had a fantastic time. I also managed to RP a little from inside the theater using the Kit Kat Klub's wi-fi (I love that this exists), which means I was tagging while in the same area as my pup. Super-meta. Then at the Cabaret stage door I told Alan Cumming that this was the 6th time I'd seen the show, and he called me a groupie. Win!
