OK, I posted this question when I subbed a DE about three years ago, so have no qualms about using it again.. PLOT. What plots would you love to see? What have you had in the back of your mind for years, but never got around to organising? What do you think would just be excellent crack, whether feasible or not?

I'm not talking stuff that you definitely want to make happen, I'm talking stuff-of-dreams. Though hey, if you have an idea that other people want to run with, so much the better! For my part, I still yearn for a midsummer elf invasion, a la pterry's Lords and Ladies. That would be some awesome fun, with kidnappings and iron and blood and someone wielding an axe while wearing a wedding dress, and whatnot.

Also, Lego plot. I need to get back on that idea.

So, what do you think M'ways? If players and pups were no option, what would you like to see?

I haven't been in the game long enough to know how plots even work, much less want a particular one, but Lords and Ladies Elf Invasion sounds AMAZING. Count me entirely in if it happens. XD

1. Someone says OMG HEY GUIZ WOULDN'T THIS BE FUN
2. Everyone else (hopefully): YES, YES IT WOULD LET'S DO IT

I haven't listened to any of WtNV (foolish of me, I know), but I am lol'ing at this image. Any particular antiques, for any particular reason? Because the notion of antiques just randomly showing up and then just as randomly disappearing and no one knowing why = hilarious. :D

I kind of miss the original Stone Angels plot, where we had the Stone Angels from Doctor Who running around the Bar and throwing people into other pups' worlds because their ability to punt people into the past didn't take into account which past it was supposed to be. Not sure how we'd work that now, between one thing and another, but it's always fun to see people flailing like hell in a world they're totally unprepared for.

YES. That was so fun to read, and it should definitely happen again if we can make it so. Is it mostly just a case of getting the Stone Angels here, so they can prey on people? Because after that, people can run with it themselves IIRC? OOM getting themselves home, with or without help?

I'd love to see revisited Mary Sue or Silent Hilliways plots, because those were some wonderfully done plots back when I was an early small tiny mun which I didn't get involved in because plots scare me a touch.

Was Silent Hilliways the Slenderman plot? Because that was brilliant. I also tend to shy away from huge plots because I can never guarantee RL won't intervene, but I read some of that one and it was fab.

Another one I want - invasion from the labyrinth! Something/one appearing out of there and the bar having to organise to get rid of it.

And a canon thing for one of my pups - I'd love an Amis trip into the Labyrinth for some reason. Maybe to try and find modern Paris like Bossuet did? Or for any reason at all really, just because it'd be fun.

I've been watching The Librarians on TNT, and last week's episode centered around the Apple of Discord. Anyone who touched it turned into "the worst possible version of themselves," which in context basically meant turning into a supervillain. There could be a fun Milliplot in there, or at least a DE.

This is the kind of bar-wide plot that would be hard to do because it's hard to create an opt-out, but I remember some people suggesting a plot where the bar's translation magic broke down, so the characters could only speak/understand whatever languages they already could. Hence a lot of communication difficulties that could be interesting.

There's always the contagious-disease route! :D Some kind of...nontranslation flu! That would let people opt out.

I don't know if this counts as a plot per se, but a part of me really, really wants to see an in-Bar tabletop gaming group get set up. Sadly none of mine are the type to set it up, I think, at least at this point.

But I don't know. I just feel like a cross-universe tabletop gaming group would be hilarious, even more so if they accidentally play with cursed dice that somehow do something to the Bar.

My only worry with this would be the risk of canon puncture, so which game would have to be carefully thought out. Of course, knowing Milliways, the character could do something like the Exiles comic and just have the PCs hopping from genre to genre. I do love the idea.

Recently, I've imagined a manga magic girl plot, something like Cube Fall, but everyone's clothing suddenly becomes very Sailor Moon-esk. I blame this artist lovely work in turning Marvel heroines into magic girls.

And yes, part of this crack is imagining Gene or Javert in the clothing of Tuxedo mask. =p

For next Christmas, I am going to bring the jólasveinar; I'm already planning how I can make their appearing and leaving a fun event each day.

And we definitely need to do the IMDb flu again, as Saph and I just decided via IM. Father Harman needs to turn into Javert this time, and Hannibal needs to meet Lady Edith, the British persona of Amy Adams' character from 'American Hustle'.

And I just had another crack plot occur to me. It's a virus based one, like the Imdb flu, but instead of characters thinking they are someone else, they get a narrator!

This can either work with pairs, one person plays the narrator, or the same mun plays both.

POV can be different per victim as well, i.e. are just actions noted or are thoughts as well?

Whether the host character hears the voice can be different, too!

It also reminds me of the Liar, Liar plot that the 24 muns+friends were playing just as I joined the bar. I forget the magic that caused it, but they could only tell the truth for a few days and it was completely hilarious. :D

Well, I threw this idea into chat so I might as well throw it into this box.

Next winter, I'd like to set up an arena for snowman battles. So at both ends of a very snowy field, boxes of enchanted armor are set up to dress up the snowmen as wizards, archers, or sword and shield warriors. The snowmen come to life when dressed up and start marching toward the other end of the field, attacking any enemy snowmen that get in their way. :D

It's a rock, paper, scissors type thing where magic beats swords, swords beat arrows (if they get close enough), arrows beat magic, and everything else is a matter of luck. But, spectators can throw snowballs at the snowmen to keep them from melting.

So would the snowmen act on their own or would this be like Wizards Chess and require two people playing against each other?

And my mind being what it is, I just imagined this working perfectly for a week or a few days before the snowmen become semi-sentient and attack anyone within range; thus began the snow wars of 2015.

There has been talk between Tom and I about Werewolf Skullball, with Kai's head as the ball. I would need to reapp him, and I feel his body would have to be tied up somewhere. I mean, a ball that can bite back? Who wouldn't love that?

I would love to see another version of the critter plot where a magic chair turned people into animals. Those strange and cracky plots were some of my favorites though another one that probably would only work once but a variation might be possible is the Midsummer Night's Amnesia Plot. That went in some interesting and complicated places.

Lords and Ladies would be fascinating as I'm currently playing a Fae from a world with some scariness, his interpretation of the plot would be interesting too.

I can't decide if Tybalt would too much of an interference for the plot or would be funny as all hell. THen again, he did prove vulnerable to the Queen's magic, so maybe he's not as immune to the Lady as I'd like to think.

ceitfianna's comment about the critter plot reminds me. If there were some way to work it without screwing people up permanently, I'd kind of love to see a plot erupt wherein people wound up at least temporarily saddled with His Dark Materials/Northern Lights-style daemons. Granted, most of them would have to have the daemons disappear or fade back into unity with their people when the plot was over, just to make life simpler.

I want to do a Halloween related plot based around Disney's haunted mansion (the ride, not the movie.) I think it would be like a dungeon crawl, but beyond that I haven't figured out the logistics.

I still occasionally bring in seven-year-old Sariel because of what that plot started off.

Part of me still occasionally wants to run the organic-mall subplot of Reaper Man as a Milliplot. Let the dead patrons and assorted supernatural creatures save the day for once!

But that would be damn difficult to pull off properly.

And if Quinn and I ever do a pair of apps we'd sort of like to, Midnight Channel: Milliways Edition would really be something.
