DE: Truth or dare

 Two options for this Friday, both based on the dangerous game of truth or dare. Be sure to note which you'd like to plat.

Option One: In character truth or dare
1- Tag in with a pup or list you'd like to play with
2- Get a request for either a truth or receive a dare (don't forget to tag others with truths or dares)
3- Answer in character, perhaps using dares as EP ideas

Option Two: Truth or dare fic meme
1- Tag in with a pup or list you'd like to play with

3- Write a fic, however long, based on what you get

Jay considers the question, trying to work out what Eric might answer and settles for something he actually wants to know. "Did my blood taste different after Christmas?" What he really wants to know is what does Drake's blood taste like? After all, the transfusion came from him.

Eric considers this. Then he says, "A little. The burned taste was less pronounced."

"Huh." Jay looks thoughtful, and a little distant.

[onceaviking]

"I think I prefer your own taste," he adds, in a low tone of voice.

[runningred]

"I'm sure it won't last. Was only down a couple of pints." Maybe more than was safe but that's not the point. Jay is preoccupied enough with his own thoughts that for once he misses the invitation in Eric's tone.

[onceaviking]

"To me it won't. It'll quickly become part of you."
He doesn't know if science would back him up but he doesn't care.
It's the truth.

Jay cocks his head at that. "Huh? You don't say." He drums his fingers a moment. "I'd apologise for changing my taste but I was well out of it by that stage." And letting it all drain out and wash away in the rain would have been a terrible waste.

[onceaviking]

"I'll live," Eric says. Dryly.

[runningred]

"And thanks to Drake, so will I." Jay muses. "And I'm not sure that's a debt I'm going to be able to repay any time soon."

[onceaviking]

"Will he ask you to?"

[runningred]

"I doubt it. Which almost makes it worse. There's something about him, something..." Distracting, maddening, getting inside Jay's head.

[onceaviking]

Eric lifts an eyebrow.

He knows what wiould drive him to distraction, after all.

[runningred]

Jay shakes his head, trying to shake off the thought. "It's stupid. I only met the kid once."

[onceaviking]

"And you're well known for your non-stupid way of being," Eric says.
Dryly.

[runningred]

Jay chokes a bitter laugh and sips his drink. "You got me there."

[onceaviking]

"I would imagine," Eric remarks, philosophically, " that almost dying fucks even more with you than with most other people."

[runningred]

"I don't know. This time it was different. I was just so fucking tired." He closes his eyes, remembering the rain on his face, washing the blood away. "I nearly just let it happen."

[onceaviking]

"But it didn't."
Pragmatically.

[runningred]

"No, it didn't." Jay agrees, just as pragmatic. "I get another shot and this time I'm damn well going to make it a head shot."

[onceaviking]

He nods.
"Yes. Taking the time it'll take. No rushing things."

Pot. Kettle. Black.

[runningred]

Jay chuckles, amused by the hypocrisy of that. "We're both great at giving sensible advice but not at following it through."

[onceaviking]

Eric shrugs.
"Isn't that the definition of advice?" he asks.

[runningred]

Jay chuckles darkly again and nods. "You're right there." He cocks his head. "How's your hunt going?"

"I'll get him," Eric replies, seemingly calm.

[runningred]

Jay nods. He doesn't doubt it. But then he had the same tone in his voice before he left. "I know I've offered before but if you need anything, let me know."
