DW: It's blood orange
Today, let's talk about your character's fashion! How would you describe it? Given a chance, would they opt for a different fashion? Does aspects of their typical wear mean anything to them? Is it all just ways to keep warm and out of jail for indecency?

Thor dresses like a warrior prince. A relatively casual version of a warrior prince -- he shows up in Milliways as often as not in what passes for casual wear, i.e. loose garments and no armor but his vambraces -- but still. Rich materials, plenty of decoration, easy to move in. Thor's outfits, unless he's borrowing Earth clothes or something, are designed to proclaim that he's an Odinson.
There's nuance in what version of his armor he's wearing, whether he's wearing the mail sleeves, etc, that carries significance within the court about level of formality and/or serious battle intent. (This is how I fanwank the way his armor design keeps changing for different movies.) That's why I try to specify what he's wearing a lot of the time -- to him, it carries social signals, even if he knows people here generally don't catch them.
Enjolras, at home, wore what was very much standard menswear of his day and his social class -- tidy, well-made, on the drab side, not particularly fashionable. Tailored, but that's because getting clothes made for you or altered from hand-me-downs was the standard thing in his day. He doesn't care about fashion, and he definitely doesn't care about showing off his looks; he would like to be clean and socially acceptable and get on with more important things, thank you. (Some of his friends despair.)
In Milliways, he wears the same sort of clothing, but in mourning black and grey. (He hasn't been asking Bar for new suits, so it's starting to get a little shabby, but at the moment is still in "they're not brand-new, but they're still totally fine, okay, I don't have to look fancy for anything" territory to him.) To anyone from his era or a while before and after, the colors are a statement of grief as loud as a shout, just like the cockade on his lapel is an extremely in-your-face statement of political affiliation. To people of the 20th and 21st centuries, I suspect it tends to get parsed as just old-fashioned formal menswear with a LOOK I'M FRENCH sticker on the lapel -- and to people from other worlds, who knows?
Cosette likes fashion, but she doesn't really have a great grounding in the subtler nuances of up-to-the-minute fashion shifts; her primary tutor here was the family's servant Toussaint, who's middle-aged and happy to work for a very quiet isolated family. So by her society's standards, she dresses like a pretty and reasonably fashionable young lady, but with the occasional OH HONEY NO moment of accidentally dressing like the middle-aged lady she isn't.
By Milliways standards, of course, Cosette wears acres of petticoats and poofy sleeves and a bodice structured enough that it has to have a corset underneath (which it does, of course), and her hair in ringlets and a topknot, and generally oh my god so much dress, what, how.
More probably later, as work allows!

Selina dresses for warmth, protection, and street cred; leather jacket, cotton hoodie, denim jeans, and combat boots. Street kid chic if I had to put a name to it. She likes the look as it makes her feel strong and independent, if not armored. It's been long enough, I don't know that she'd want to change it.
Quinlan dresses with an eye for movement and fierceness. He deals with smugglers on a daily basis and so needs to project "don't double-cross me". He sometimes misses the loose robes of a jedi, to be honest.
Hank is a true square when it comes to fashion. He dresses as if he were at least 10 years older than he actually is. This is because he is trying to get people to take him seriously and more often than not, he fails. I think he would like to dress more like the Mod fashions but he just doesn't think he can pull it off.

He also demanded his own icon for his answer, which is why I replied instead of editing the original. ;p

Jean Valjean - is more comfortable in labourer's clothes, but also has a lot of fine gentleman's attire because it's necessary to meet society's expectations. And match Cosette's finery, of course. Left to himself, he would not dress up at all. He probably spent the five years in the convent dressed always as a gardener - but on the flip side, he spent five years in Montreuil dressed entirely as a gentleman, so he can pull off either disguise. And they are disguises, for the most part. Valjean wears whatever will keep him best hidden, and has wigs and various hats to help this if necessary. The only item of (his) clothing he owns that is actually important in some way is his horrible old yellow coat. That's because he has thousands of francs stitched into the lining, as well as a wig or two in case of needing a disguise in a hurry.
Given a chance, he would be happier dressed always as a peasant, left alone in a garden somewhere. As long as Cosette was close by.
Javert - clothes are a big deal to him, but not in the sense of fashion. They're a device used to reflect his inner state.
Any one who was thoroughly acquainted with him, and who had examined him attentively at the moment, would have shuddered. The buckle of his leather stock was under his left ear instead of at the nape of his neck. This betrayed unwonted agitation.
Javert was a complete character, who never had a wrinkle in his duty or in his uniform; methodical with malefactors, rigid with the buttons of his coat.
That he should have set the buckle of his stock awry, it was indispensable that there should have taken place in him one of those emotions which may be designated as internal earthquakes.
He has little care for fashion or trends, though he is perfectly aware of them in others as a way of classifying their status. What matters to him about his clothes is that they are perfectly neat, just as he is perfectly neat. His clothes are serviceable and clean, chosen for utility rather than fashion. So in Milliways, they're the standard shirt-cravat-waistcoat-jacket on top, rough trousers and boots below, hat on his head if he's outside.
Though he does rather like jeans. They're useful for working, and surprisingly comfortable.

MAYBE IT'S MAYBELLINE
(or a really good tailor)
i uh didn't realize I was logged in as Feuilly for this particular conversation
i don't think feuilly cares very much about courfeyrac's corsetry situation

Feuilly's completely into it, what are you talking about? I imagine he keeps a weather eye on how many waistcoats Courfeyrac - and Bahorel - have on, at all times.

I've read in some places it could be up to seven! Of course, I'm assuming vest is being used in the American sense, and is what we would call a waistcoat. Seeing as a vest as we know it would not need to be red and/or blue, and would not actually be visible.

But there are plenty redheads in the world.
Fairy Fixit and the Tooth Fairy General, who I suspect and have practically headcanonned is Fixit's sister, have a very distinctive manner of dress. They are the only two female fairies in game that wear pants, and their pants are quite poofy. Not even the queen dresses that distinctively, but I guess her full set of wings and crown are distinctive enough. All other female fairies wear short skirts or full length dresses, even Chaeldar, the badass slayer of beasts. But anyway, back to Fixit. She seems comfortable in her work closes, since she hasn't really demanded costume changes from me. So, it looks like she wears very form fitting knee high boots and elbow length gloves that look like they might be leather of some sort. I wouldn't be surprised if they were, since the fairies don't seem to give a damn about killing or even treating talking animals as property, even though the free floating magic in Zanaris turns people into animals occasionally. There's her poofy pants which I mentioned before, and then her top which... hmm... sleeveless. I think it's either a camisole or something like the top of overalls. But her arms look deliberately bare above the elbow, so I think sleeveless tops with straps are definitely her fashion preference. Most of the other fairies wear sleeveless tops too, but they are usually strapless.
Also! Fanny pack but I think she takes that off when she's not working. It looks like she is wearing some sort belt around her waist already.

William: Will pretty much always be in the uniform of a British naval officer, or some permutation thereof.
Jemma: Is a not so secret fashionista with a tendency to wear more preppy styles.
Glorfindel: Tends to show up in bar while wearing gear fit for the wild, rather than anything for court - still gorgeous, but harder-wearing, and he's probably armed.
Owsin: Is a fan of the KISS method of fashion - simple dresses, slacks, blouses. She saves her complexity for her computers and mental problems.
Bones: Will probably be in StarFleet uniform, or standard-issue blue scrubs. When he does get a chance to wear civilian clothing, he leans toward jeans and flannel.

Teja -- early medieval clothes in black linen, a Tyrian purple cloak.
Father Harman -- black or dark grey clothes that look as priestlike as they can without being full clericals. Also, late 90s.
Dorian -- late 19th century hedonist dandy. His purple silk shirt is something we see him wear several times in canon.
Katrina -- for the first season, black 18th century underwear, for the second season, beige 18th century underwear at first, then corset and tight jeans, most recently, black corset and a flimsy short black skirt. Really, she wears far too little for historical accuracy (much as I love her and her canon otherwise), and no woman in her time would have gone around with her hair entirely undone like that; that is the fashion of today, say sorry.
Lady Margolotta -- canonically wears clothes that attempt to be as dowdy as possible, including a pink knitted jumper with bats embroidered on it.
Madame Thénardier -- slovenly, raggedy early 19th century finery.

Raven wears dusty blue jeans, a raggedy black coat, a black button-down shirt, black dusty boots, and has a star braided into his hair.
Dean wears jeans, a leather jacket, and a lot of plaid over T-shirts. Yeah.
Ysalwen wears mage robes, generally in the Tevinter style (in-game), boots, gloves, and carries a staff on her back. Her robes have gotten fancier over time. Some things must be done for appearances.
Nynaeve wears dresses, the more form-fitting the better, these days. Green is a color she likes to wear, because Lan likes her in it. She has a yellow-fringed shawl on, occasionally, as well. She has a leather thong around her neck that holds Lan's signet ring, yay! Also a ki'sain on her forehead, which is a red dot, more prosaically.
Michael wears jeans, T-shirts, and Doc Martens. Sometimes the Docs have a Union Jack on them. Sometimes they don't.
Wonder Woman is usually wearing her uniform and lasso. It's safest to always be prepared.
Galadan wears black and gray predominantly, though sometimes he's got on a leather duster if he's come from Firefly-verse, or chain mail/leather mail of some kind if he's come from Fionavar. He always has a green, gray, and pale pink friendship bracelet on his wrist, however. Even if most people wouldn't notice it tucked up under his sleeve.

Charles tends to wear suits or at least a collared shirt. For a man of his age in his era, he's fairly conservative in his dress especially compared to Erik who is more European or Raven who is rather daring. All of his clothing is of the finest quality, I imagine a lot of his suits and shirts are custom made if not all of them are.
Quentin is a remarkably neat teenager in how he dresses which is a by product of growing up within the court world of Faerie and taking his duties seriously. In his human disguise, he's almost always in jeans and a t-shirt with a few t-shirts with funny sayings. When he's dressed more formally, its in the livery of Shadowed Hills, which looks medieval though with heightened colors and at times strange fabrics.
Sameth has two outfits depending on what he's doing. His working outfit that's a comfortable shirt, boots and pants, all of it well made but tends to be grimy due to his work. Then when he's being prince, he wears his surcoat, though he always has a bit of a rumpled feel to his clothing.
Jane dresses as a daughter of the gentry though not terribly rich. She is aware of fashion and likes to look nice but her family also lives on a working farm. Most of the time when she comes into Milliways, its in one of these day dresses sometimes with an apron on top as she tries to not get ink on her good dresses.
Ivan is a working military officer though he's currently serving as a cultural attache on a far flung outpost. Barrayar is a planet where what you where communicates a lot. In uniform is his default but there are a variety of uniforms from the casual green, to the more day to day, dress and then truly formal dress with the two swords and he also has a House uniform for the Vorpatrils but he doesn't wear that much. His clothing is always well made, the kind that someone who knows will be able to see that while he's a soldier, he's one with money and who enjoys looking well.
Moist's suits change depending on the job he's working but his basic outfit is always a suit of some sort. The difference comes in how well kept the suit is and the quality. There's the three piece pinstriped banker's suit for impressing people, the slightly worn down tweed suit for gathering pity, the summer suit for country house parties and he does have an outfit that's not a suit, flannel trousers and a sweater. I pattern his clothing choices off of a combination of Victorian male fashion and male fashion of the 1920s which fits with how he's written and how his clothing is mentioned in the books.
William's clothing is basic as he doesn't have much money to spend on it. Everything is made to last for a while and tends to be of rougher material since if there's extra money to be spent on clothing, it will be used for his brother or mother first. He knows his clothing marks him as poor in his time but it does what he needs it to do.
Demeter dresses simply, the fabric of her dresses changes with the seasons but she always wears a green dress and rarely gold, her feet are always bare and in the summer, she has a black shawl.
Tumnus' outfits are his scarves, his basic scarf is a wool one and I think it has a pocket in it and then he has fancier scarves for court.
I love thinking about pups' clothing.

Katara is also a cartoon character and thus doesn't change her outfit much. But she also dresses much more simply than Asami, really only having a few changes of clothing that get a lot of use. Typically she's in a blue-white hanfu-like dress, with blue trousers beneath the skirt, and probably some kind of animal-hide boots. She also sometimes wears (often fingerless) gloves, as well as a longer-sleeve top or even a heavy coat depending on the weather. Her clothing is mostly about practicality and availability; the exceptions are her mother's engagement necklace (a blue ribbon with a small pendant that was actually her grandmother's engagement necklace, but was passed down to her through her mother), and her "hair loopies," or small ties she uses to loop two locks of her hair on either side of her face.
Will mostly wears a lot of plaid shirts and jeans, and then sometimes a suit and tie if he's teaching or on trial for murder. Up until recently it was frankly about meeting a sort of minimum standard of professionalism while also drawing as little attention to himself as possible (because attention at either end of that is just more trouble for him), but now he's at least put a little more effort into looking... better. But um, I'll also quote Hugh Dancy in saying that Will's version of trying to look nice kiiinda still... ends up with him looking like a "tramp."
Elle likes looking pretty and getting dressed up, and also likes just wearing jeans and t-shirts, so. She's fashion-aware as much as she needs to be to get by in the world, and has enough of her own personal preferences and creativity that this is really one aspect where she'd be pretty hard to distinguish from anyone else. She does like to wear a lot of blue, and anything shiny will also be likely to attract her eye.

Henry wears plaid surprisingly often. A Maine thing, maybe.
Eriond dresses very simply; when he's not in basic brown or maybe grey, he's in blue.
Lois has a wardrobe. Currently, late 2000's business casual; she's in a stage of button down shirts and vests. I love it. She will wear various colors, though she likes red and blue. Off-work hours it's tank-tees and jeans, and rarely plaid she stole from a farmboy friend of hers.
Tavi currently wears military uniform, specifically in Aleran colors AKA realistically the Imperian/Gaius colors of red and blue. Also armor. Never super-fancy, not at this point, though he occasionally does spring for dress uniform if it seems called for. Of course, this will change drastically in his future when he ends up being, you know, emperor and not in the field general all the time. But for now he can get away with simple military uniforms. He'll always edge on the simple side, almost always his family's red and blue. Formal occasions will end up different, but he dislikes it. As long as he can get away with simple, he does. Besides, the steel circlet will generally say most of what needs saying there.

David's blue three piece suit and fedora are something not unlike a mask, a specific look designed to convoy his position as Chief Inspector. On his own, at home, he tends towards the Japanese style that pervades most of his aesthetic. He owns a lot of simple cotton robes and soft, loose fitting pants.
Diaval had never understood the human obsession with coverings and will forget clothing unless reminded at times. The rest of the time, he wears the black pants and long black jacket taken from the scarecrow in the field where he was first changed into a man.
Minx fairly naturally loves clothes. Her favourite is a simple, flowing red dress designed as a gift for her by Gianni Versace himself before his death. She had several copies made by Versace's studio so she doesn't ruin the original. She wears the most up to date fashions when she's working as a model but as a carchitect, tends to get around in a lab coat or her father's old coveralls. Her racing suit, the few times she's needed it, is red with a black spade over the heart in tribute to her father. Her police uniform working for David is simple, utilitarian black.
Olivier dresses simply and according to need. He, as with many other crusaders, often keeps the red on white cross tabard. He has the fur from the first cloak given to him by the bar which has been sewn and resewn as need requires.
