So... yes. I was sitting in my thread, minding my own business, and the idea for the [livejournal.com profile] milliversity went and popped into my mind, nearly-fully-formed.

Kestrel has posted a notice on the board, here, and anyone interested in offering to teach classes, or in signing up for classes offered, is welcome to sign the sheet somewhere.

Depending on the interest levels in this - which actually seem to be decent, so far - I'd like to talk to mods and/or barstaff to see if this could become anything official.

Oops. Obviously, [livejournal.com profile] lady_yare's answer is supposed to be [livejournal.com profile] _dragon_fang_'s answer but I forgot to switch journals before replying. *headdesk* Bill's about to go reply in that other thread hee This was a neat idea and solves Bill's money problem perfectly (assuming people will actually earn money to teach?).

Connor will teach - and doesn't care if he gets paid or not. What? He's almost 500 years old, you think he never figured out what a savings acct was for? ;)

Bob will also teach - and, for payment, will 'learn' in exchange - he's been around awhile and knows lots of stuff, but is always willing to pick up tidbits here and there. (He doesn't have use for money or bar credit, so, teach-learn works for Bob.)

Martouf could use money or bar credit; but I'm not sure what he could teach - it's not really something he would do.

Van Helsing - could teach, but won't - he's too frequently injured or busy - ;)

yeah - though, IC, they haven't yet met - but 'tis a possibility - though I'm not sure Martouf would take it *shrug* -

we'll see ;)

Val wouldn't accept payment if the bar tried to pay her. She's already got (in her mind) everything she needs, so she'd probably try and scuttle it off on someone else's tab.

Bigby's got too much on his plate as it stands for me to keep up with... I don't think he'd be inclined to take classes or teach them either. The only notable exception that I could think of kind of got fixed way before this.

As for the money thing, I think it'd be good to have some other way of circulating cash in the bar given the problematic lack of a functional economy and a place for every character to place themselves in it.

... glee?

Anyhow, I doubt that. As more and more characters get added, more and more staff is theoretically needed. Because more and more money comes in to the bar. So, I can only foresee an inflation of staff placement.

Yeah, I know. We don't have enough to go around as it stands, so no reason that the increase in jobs will match the increase in number of players who need them.

I'm a what? :) Is this the part where I have to put a disclaimer and say that this is just my personal opinion and in no way reflects that of the people who actually can/will make the decision?

... ok. Nevertheless...
