Oh, Anakin
"I just don't have enough hours in my day!"
"Are you even listening to me?" She asks finally, having heard nothing from her roommate. He was in the room, she saw, but he was busy staring at his phone, at a picture of Padmé. "Oh, Anakin!" She yelled and threw a pillow at him.
(I don't know that I RomCom well.)

Entertaining a foreign Other was a nice change of pace for Sam, though hunting for "real" vodka instead of the reported coven of witches seemed a bad use of time. Katya was rather insistent though, and since patching things up between their respective countries was high priority, Sam played along. Bar, after bar, after bar.
When the bars all played out, they tried the liquor stores with an equal lack of success. Then Sam had the bright idea of hitting Russian delis and while Katya seemed to enjoy all the kitsch and laughing at what passed for authentic Russian food, they did finally find some vodka she deemed "worth a try".
Now they were officially on the trail and driving over the Arlington Memorial bridge when, about halfway across, there was a loud thump that send the car careening. Katya laughed and rolled down her window to try and get a good look, yelling about how finally they were going to get some action, while Sam fought the car and got it under control. Looking up, he saw four witches on brooms banking for another attack.
Distracted by the four, he missed the three that were carrying an uprooted sapling, which they flung at Sam's window. Katya, however, saw and grabbed him, pulling him down to her side of the car so that the sapling passed straight through. Sam poked his head back up, just in time for the car to hit the center divide and bounce up onto its left most tires.
The witches took advantage of this, casting spells to pick the car up and preparing to fling it into the Potomac river. Katya, thinking quickly, slashed hers and Sam's seatbelt and threw herself against her door while clinging to Sam. The door gave way, to her delight and Sam's horror.
Sam stood shakily once the door slowed to a stop and looked up just in time for a witch to hit him square in the chest, sending him over the side of the bridge. So much for making a good impression with the visiting Watch.
Katya turned to face the witches, who were now hovering in a staggered line (they knew her too well to provide one big target). Screaming, Katya shifted and charged, but they just cackled and summoning a massive swarm of biting insects. Just as the swarm was to met Katya, it was parted by intense winds.
Somewhat confused, Katya look about and saw Sam come flying up the side of the bridge on a whirlwind. He quickly knocked the witches out of the sky and as soon as you could snap your fingers, all were in custody.
"Jinn?" She guessed once Sam rejoined her.
"Both my mothers." Sam replied with a nod.
"Good. Now let me teach you of vodka!"
"Only if I get to teach you of tequila."

He found the streets, while not a real home, were much better than the system. Here he could find his own protection and truly help people. Not with food so much, or shelter, but with a story or just a kind ear.
Then he started seeing demons.
The first had been a friend, Tony, who had done too much heroin one night. Sam was sure he had died, and while it had been too late for him to get to an emergency room, he had stayed and help his friend's hand so he wouldn't die alone.
The next morning, when the demon opened opened Tony's eyes, Sam saw the change right away. But rather than run, he talked to the demon, listened to it, and then, for no reason he could think of, he offered to bless the creature. Funny thing is, it had worked. The demon suddenly had its own will and didn't care so much about causing violence or corrupting people's minds. It just wanted to see what mortal life was like.

Blasting through
"Can't do that, Ensign," Her voice was ragged and he heard her anxiety creeping through so he stood up, drawing the Guard's fire.
"Run, I'll cover you, get her safe," They would save the true Queen's brother even if they went down.
She looked over to him, a smile showing through the soot on her face from when they'd blown through a door and she dashed to a side corridor.
As he lined up another shot, there was a change of air beside him and Raj fired his gun of claws, "My uncle's already there, we just need to hold them off."
"Easy," Quentin grinned and the Guards backed away slightly at the manic gleam in both their eyes.

Burnt rubber
"You've got the best crew out here, Rob, stop worrying," John said as he patted Robin's helmet, "Now get out there and win the arrow."
(Basically Robin and his men are a racing crew, Robin's from a racing family that hit hard times. His father was killed in a horrible accident and he's trying to prove himself as Guy and the Sheriff are the ones in charge who are doing all they can to stop them. Marian owns a racetrack and so is trying to be neutral while worrying about what might happen.)

Seeding life
From her pack, she took out the seeds she had created and set them in the soil before pushing down, "Grow, grow, you are needed, too many are hungry."
Under her hands, the seeds searched for water, for life and finally found some and reached towards her as she nodded. It was a beginning and enough to start proper terraforming.
Re: Seeding life
Discipline
Then he would get a lecture on the need for true discipline, which he didn't need. Discipline and cruelty walked hand in hand and while Lensherr was one of the finest captains, he was ruthless and pain moved below the surface.
He wasn't going to think about that or the way Lensherr's shoulders moved, instead he was going to help the surgeon with punished men and look ahead to where the would land.
