One more from [personal profile] halfemptyglasses :

Tag in with your pup and the song they can't resist belting out in the car. Find the songs that match up and plan a road trip.

Though with the number of pups from other worlds and different times than ours, how about adding songs you associate with them and can't resist singing along to?

I can totally see Emcee behind the wheel and belting out "Lola" by the Kinks, "Tear Me Down" by Hedwig & the Angry Inch, "Rebel Rebel" by David Bowie, and of course "Sweet Transvestite" from the Rocky Horror Picture Show. (It seems he's very into classic rock and classic rock-influenced music.)

I can see Emcee absolutely loving that one line in "Lola" that can be read either way ("I know who I am and I'm glad I'm a man... and so is Lola").

I saw a clip of Ray Davies the other day singing that line with the biggest shit-eating grin on his face.

Heh. of my whole crew there are only two who'd actually sing in the car, and one of them is Santo; I don't know what was popular on Mexican radio in 1967, so I honestly can't say for him. Shephard would be bellowing Metallica stuff, most likely. "Enter Sandman" usually works for him. (He also has a habit of singing under his breath when he's ordered to pilot something, but that's to distract himself from the fact that he is at the controls of a murderbird that actively hates him. He has been forbidden from singing "High Speed Dirt" while at the controls of anything whatsoever, ever again.)

It's a terrible confession to make, but I can't hear Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" on the radio without snickering to myself about (a rather cracky interpretation of) Hannibal and Will Graham's relationship. Because really:

"Nice to meet you, Where you been?
I could show you incredible things
Magic, madness, heaven, sin.
Saw you there and I thought oh my god
Look at that face, you look like my next mistake,
Love's a game, wanna play?

New money, suit and tie,
I can read you like a magazine.
Ain't it funny rumors fly,
And I know you heard about me.
So hey, let's be friends,
I'm dying to see how this one ends,
Grab your passport and my hand..."

And

"So it's gonna be forever
Or it's gonna go down in flames
You can tell me when it's over
If the high was worth the pain,
" etc.

"It'll leave you breathless,
Or with a nasty scar.
Got a long list of ex-lovers,
They'll tell you I'm insane.
But I got a blank space baby,
And I'll write your name."

And, of course:

"Screaming, crying, perfect storms
I could make all the tables turn
Rose garden filled with thorns
Keep you second guessing like oh my god
Who is she? I get drunk on jealousy
But you'll come back each time you leave
Cause darling I'm a nightmare dressed like a daydream.
"

I can't help it. *still snickering* I need someone with vidder skills.

AFI's Miss Murder reminds me of Amascut, especially since the lyrics match up so well with her backstory.

It isn't the kind of song I usually sing along with though, because of screaming.

I don't have much of a play list for Dejah, but I can totally see her jamming out to the Awesome Mix Volume One. Like silly stupid top down hair blowing drive too fast kinda jamming out.

You just know the Chief finds herself singing the Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego theme song in her car on the way home from work, and then looks around hastily at the stop light to make sure no one saw.

Feuilly is a huge nerd who has just discovered modern music recording stuff and one of his first stops has been Chopin. You know, Polish, Romantic-era nationalism, all that. Feuilly is rocking out to the "Heroic" polonaise these days, getting all emotional while he translates stuff.

Someone on tumblr found Lanlaire, by Vent du Nord, as a Bossuet song, and it's perfect. Scroll down for English translation--and "va te faire lanlaire" more or less means "piss off, go to hell." (oh hey okay so it's actually a 19th century thing (not really surprising) by Gustave Nadaud, who was a contemporary of Victor Hugo and wrote a lot of satirical/political songs, so uh, you know)

Gredya does not sing. Gredya does not approve of car trips.

Clem: Kiss by Prince. This is canon. She also can't resist any mid 70's hard rock bands.

Dixie: Any traditional ballad. Especially if she can extract tears with them.

Juliet: Proud Mary. Any version.

Pinkie: SMILE SONG.

Eponine: Hah, well - that is her life..
