Inspired by waking up to Social Distortion's Ball and Chain, and realizing it would fit in a Rollo playlist...

What music do you listen to that you think your pup would enjoy? Song, band, genre, whatever.

Hah, me neither. I can listen to a few bars and say ooh this kicks ass, but then I have to switch to something else.

Playlists? PLAYLISTS.

Dinah's massively into bright, pop-y music like Katie Perry, Kelly Clarkson, but also pop-punk a bit like Fall-Out Boy, the Whit Stripes, etc. She just likes a beat.

Korra - well

Dick - actually I think Dick loves show tunes :)

There's a surprising amount of overlap between classical music motifs and heavy metal. The right kind of thunderous classical (say, Night On Bald Mountain or O Fortuna) would probably catch Shephard's attention. That or the crossbreed stuff, like Apocalyptica (where you get two cellists who went to Finland's equivalent of Juilliard doing acoustic covers of Metallica) and Trans-Siberian Orchestra; pretty sure that'd go over well with him.

Gordon is into country music although he does not willingly admit to it. Most of his favorites are from Kenny Rogers albums my parents owned when I was a kid or that appeared on the Muppet Show.

Ellen is very, very fond of the music Miss Agatha broadcasts across the Capital Wastes; Miss Agatha owns the last known Stradivarius violin in the world and is very good with it. I expect Ellen would probably be quite happy with the less thunderous classical stuff, but I think she'd also like Vangelis (and that he'd be her introduction to music played with synthesizers or other non-acoustic instruments).

The only music I listen to that I think Stacker would like all falls into ambient/dark ambient/space, more for after-hours mental step-down than anything else- Steve Roach, Markus Reuter, Pete Namlook, stuff like that.

not really sure about the others, alas.

Floki would listen to Björk. Definitely Björk. So much disjointed and discordant ethereal weirdness.

John would listen to folksy stuff. Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Steve Earle, etc. Lots of Americana, too.

Mako would listen to jazz and swing, big-band stuff.

Connor would listen to Americana, mostly. Can't imagine him listening to much else.

Voodoo likes aggressive stuff. Thrash metal, punk rock, hip-hop (especially underground and East Coast stuff). Death metal he can tolerate but would prefer to leave to dumb grunts like Shephard.

Taking my cue from the Man Out of Time comics that Steve likes Radiohead, I think he appreciates modern rock quite a bit, as well as the classic rock he missed like the Beatles. (One of my favorite fics has him partial to "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" and "Norwegian Wood" in particular.) I also have started every Steve-related playlist I've made with "I and Love and You" by the Avett Brothers, for the chorus, "Brooklyn, Brooklyn, take me in."

Cecil likes The Weather. :D.

I don't really have tunes or playlists for the others at this point. Sadie would like standards; Merlin would feel at home with early music and spare compositions that resemble it; Groot's people wouldn't make music as such, I think, though he would appreciate classical music quite a bit; Jack plays lip service to liking classical music, particularly of national composers, but in actuality he likes to get down and jam sometimes.

I have a Vikings playlist on Spotify. Ragnar would ride around blaring Turisas and Nightwish and Therion and Solstafír -- totally will, most likely, come AU week.

For all your serious Nordic Metal needs, I recommend Zed's huge-ass Viking Metal playlist (which was the reason I even got a Spotify account in the first place).

Thor would listen to pretty much all my music with the polite interest of somebody Appreciating Other Cultures, I think. He'd like especially dramatic or bombastic classical music (which I don't have a ton of), certain kinds of electronica (ditto), and really narrative songs (which I do have some of). Mostly he prefers music performed live, though, I suspect.

Enjolras doesn't really... listen to music. Or care about music. He likes certain revolutionary songs, obviously, but it's not for the musical aspect. (I think my Enjolras has the double whammy of zero musical interest and perfect pitch, so nearly everything always sounds at least a little out of tune to him, too.) A lot of my music would sound weird to him and some of it would sound familiar, but he wouldn't actively enjoy any of it. I don't think I have anything that would sound so very familiar that it'd make Milliways!Enjolras surprised by faint nostalgia, either.

Cosette would find a lot of my music kind of weird, but some of the more traditional-style folk stuff and dance music she'd enjoy. Even if it was in an "oh, you say this is Scottish dance music? How peculiar and exotic!" kind of way.

River would like anything she could dance to. So: a lot of stuff.

Clementine is a known total rock fangirl. She has tons of tattoos all over her back telling the world how much she loves Led Zep.

Dixie loves the popular music of her time; stage tunes and the like.

Juliet loves modern dance music, new wave and hip-hop.

Pinkie composes her own songs and is EXTREMELY musical.
