A great idea from vance_prime  for our Friday:

In the spirit of the various "incorrect[canon]quotes" blogs on Tumblr, post a quote that isn't from your pup's canon, but sounds like it should be. If you can't think of anything, just post in your pup and let other people suggest incorrect quotes!

It's only really been since I started this re-read of all of the Discworld books - my first reread in about seven years - that I'm realizing how much Rae's beliefs and views are developing into something very like Granny Weatherwax's philosophy. Mostly about one's personal responsibility to the world and the people in it.

Ah! I found the exact quote I was looking for, in Wee, Free Men:

Which is remarkably similar to the lesson Sunshine's grandmother (who taught her magic) gives her in a dream near the end of Rae's canon:

“What we can do, we must do: we must use what we are given, and we must use it the best we can, however much or little help we have for the task. What you have been given is a hard thing--a very hard thing... But my darling, what if there were no one who could do the difficult things?”
