DE: There's not a title here that rhymes with anything

So last night I was up to my wrist watch in grease, learning how to take apart, clean, and reassemble a bicycle tire hub. I even did the rear tire and so had to deal with the cassette (i.e. the gears).

Inspired by this, what new skills are you or your pups learning?

Ahsoka is learning to herd nerfs. Fun times.

Izanna is going to be learning how to use a spear.

Hank is in the middle of training and accepting his unique physiology.

Dejah's teaching Ysalwen basic physics. (And possibly chemistry?) I suspect her teaching style is more didactic than by rote. She also has a bad habit of picking out a stack of books on a subject and handing them to her students. She's used to a level of student who is as deeply interested in a subject as she is. As Regent of the Royal Helium Academy of Science, she only has a few direct students, and they're all working towards their own advanced degrees. Most of the rest of her duties involve defining the curriculum and making sure her own professors are educated on the subjects.

As far as learning something new, she considers herself a student of human culture and society, as she's only met the one human before she came to the bar and he was a hot mess of cultural and psychological issues. She finds humans fascinating. She finds learning fascinating. She's always looking to increase her knowledge.

I'm resisting the idea of letting her study Magic (I'm looking at you Djehuty). Because Issus help us all...

I don't know, Dejah Thoris, techno-mage, has a nice ring to it.

She already tinkers with the fabric of the universe. Do you really want her crawling behind the scenes and taking things apart just to see how they work? REALLY?

Quentin is learning how to be a good noble, swordfight from Etienne, magic theory from Duke Sylvester, all sorts of things from Toby that tend to come down to how to survive and shift the odds into your favor, also how to fight from Beauford in Milliways.

Sameth is constantly learning more about the Charter and what being Wallmaker means. Through helping Ysalwen, he's been learning about her magic and about science along with her.

Charles is learning exactly what is possible for all of the mutants, how best to teach them and he's always working on honing his own abilities. From X, he's learning how to realize that there's a lot he has to learn about what's possible for mutants and that he has to keep a look out for those who need him.

Moist is always picking up new skills, its how he keeps himself sharp. On his last job, he learned how to cheat at croquet and how to make the kind of drinks that are preferred by the rich on the plains of Sto Lat.

In an OOM, Will is learning about the world of celebs in a way he never expected in Minx's world, he doesn't like the press.

William is currently learning how to fire a new type of gun and what a Navy SEAL is with Voodoo.

Tumnus is always learning more about Narnia's history, the world that the Pevensies' came from and what's required to keep Narnia doing well, politics are hard.

Emcee is learning to speak Swedish with the help of the Duolingo app and Sinric, because Eric won't teach him since he's a big ol' meanie. I've been learning it, too, but I've kind of fallen off my lessons, though I still can read it better than I can speak it, since I don't have an actual human being who speaks Swedish to practice with.

(Btw, I know I have a bunch of dangling threads, but I have been sick and working on backlogs at work, so please bear with me while my brain turns into mush.)
