DE: Oh, you like the thing, too? Sweet.
Quoth the Hawkeye, "Nevermore! "
Err, wait...actually it was:
If your character is from a world with active pop-culture: What fandom would people be surprised to find they're a fan of?
Or if you're not sure what their pop-culture is/it doesn't exist: What fandom in our world would you find the most likely to be a fan of?

She hasn't taken as much time to read/consume Earth fiction/media in the last few decades but I can see her loving all the space exploration sagas, Star Trek in particular. She can tell you all the names of all the prominent Jasoomian astrophysicists, though. And the details of every extra planetary expedition Jasoom has ever sent up.

Cosette, on the other hand, has been living under the rock of living with a reclusive father until very recently, and her husband is not exactly a social whirlwind himself. So she doesn't ignore the theater so much as has very little experience of it yet. (Yet is a key word.) Anyway, she certainly likes music and singing! And reading. I guess people would likely be surprised to learn that she (canonically) doesn't read novels about romance much at all? I rather like the idea that she's into botany.
Thor is definitely from a world with lots of pop culture, aaaaand canon gives us nothing of it and I haven't made up a great deal. Let's see. Nobody will be surprised to learn that he loves all Glorious Battle Epics, and has strong opinions on which of them are the awesomest. Not too many people will be surprised by his love of the Asgardian equivalent of ridiculous dance-pop, either. (Whatever that sounds like.) Hmm. I'm going to say that he also really likes choral music, too.
Kazul's world's level of active pop culture is unclear, but I'm sure it has some. There's probably some kind of bizarre complex draconic music she really likes. Also: human romance novels (or the equivalent.) It's not that they strike a chord in her romantic soul -- the entire family set-up is different for dragons, and I don't think they even have romance as such, let alone marriage -- but she gets a certain anthropological delight (and a certain popcorn.gif delight) out of how bizarre the whole thing is.

Vala- Well, I don't know. I know she has seen a lot of Tari TV.
Naruto- Well, I know he plays video games, loves Ramen, and reads comics.
Death really doesn't care about pop culture.

...I'm now picturing him cosplaying as Boromir.

Carol would like you to please by her books so she can earn some royalties! Like the other Avengers, she is addicted to Dog Cops, even though she also kind of hates it. (The internal continuity is terrible.) Oh, and Carol LOVES Star Wars. Like named her car Cheebacca quotes it to her teammates until they want to punch her in the face loves it.
Stiles might have downloaded 1989. But he's not talking. (He will, however talk about superheroes and Star Wars and WoW.)

Mark is also a fan of zombie films, and canon has shown he owns a number of classics on DVD, including the original Romero trilogy, "Dead Alive," and several Italian cult classics. Headcanon has declared he also likes kaiju films (and in-Bar has weirded Chuck Hansen out about it) and other cult movies and television.

Dixie actually uses Bar to find out about future pop culture trends. She admires Mae West, Julie London, lots of torch singers.
Juliet loves 80s synth pop; not too many surprises there.
Eponine has a secret fondness for opera.
If it's musical Pinkie adores it, period.
