Happy Thursday, all, and Happy Thanksgiving where applicable! So, on that subject...

Your character has to gather people for a party. If they could grab anyone at all--I mean anyone, absolutely including actual canon friends of theirs, but also we're talking politicians, dead people, Milliways friends, movie stars, characters that are fictional to them--who would they bring together for the occasion? Are they thinking "cosy times with family and friends" or are they more the "this is my big chance to get Captain Amazingest Superhero's autograph and ask what her favorite book is" type?

Or do they just want to set up drama and see it unfold? Because I'm just saying, Spider-Man, Doc Ock, Namor, J. Jonah Jameson, and Aunt May would be fun at Thanksgiving, and it's not even my fandom.

Hal is 100% the kind of person who'd pull together...Hotspur, Falstaff, Ysalwen, Viola, his brother John, the Archbishop of York, Joly, Ancient Pistol, Hotspur's little French friend, and Noriko--and then disguise himself as part of the waitstaff to see what happens.

Djehuty assembles a gracious feast for his pantheon. He could also be talked into a nice party for all the dead people in Milliways.

Lesgle gets together all the friends and random fun-seeming people he can afford to feed.

Feuilly, after long thought (and many fantasies of feeding ALL THE REFUGEES FROM EVERYWHERE, or hosting The Most Serious Political Dinner of All Time), realizes he probably owes the people at his workshop and puts together a nice picnic out at one of the barrière parks.

The first one I can think of is Charles who would want; Gregor Mendel, Charles Darwin, Watson and Crick, John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr., J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. He probably could think of others for a different kind of party but this is the one he'd like to attend.

Hank: Carl Sagan, Martin Luther King, Jr., Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke, Mary Shelling and another scientist or two. I am afraid I am not as up on the stars of 50/60s science as I could be. Charles and Raven would be there of course.

Selina: Her mom, Jay, Bruce, and Ivy. I guess Alfred would have to come too (evil Selina in my head is putting him between Pam and Hannibal). Oh and Bridgit Pike.

Seimei would invite all the mages in Milliways (whether he's met them or not) to a party where everyone shows off their favorite frivolous magic tricks. He would also like to have legendary mages such as Queen Himiko, Merlin, and the Raven King at the party - but he knows that is highly unlikely.

Brienne: Party? She doesn't want parties. She wants to go off in private to do weapons practice so she won't have to deal with people.

...but okay, she would probably have a fancy feast with minstrels singing songs about True Love and Great Deeds, and all kinds of pageantry, and everyone would wear gorgeous clothes, and there would be a tournament, and she would invite every single person in the world who has ever been not-mean to her, plus one or two people who she'd really like to trounce in a joust or mélée. She likes the big chivalric spectacles a lot.

The list of people who've been not mean to her: Catelyn Stark, Renly Baratheon, Jaime Lannister, Podrick Payne, the Elder Brother, Septon Meribald, and a few others from canon. Plus lots of people from Milliways, including Alanna of Trebond, Sonya Blade, and (oh god) Bahorel. It would be a tense gathering, especially among the canon people. Catelyn would likely slap Jaime at some point.

Fantine: In canon, Cosette. Bring her back Cosette. In Milliways, post-canon? Cosette and Valjean, so Valjean can be MADE TO TALK TO HER, and Cosette's new husband, so Fantine can meet her son-in-law.

Combeferre: SCIENCE PARTY. Science and politics. He'd invite all his canon friends, and then some of his French Revolution heroes (definitely Condorcet), and a whole bunch of different doctors and public health heroes (Pasteur! Lister! Florence Nightingale! Mary Edwards Walker!), and then he'd say something controversial, and watch everyone argue, and join in the argument himself, and it would be fun.

...he might remember to have food and drink at this party, but I wouldn't count on anything besides coffee, really.

Jehan Prouvaire: all his canon friends, all his favorite writers and artists INCLUDING Victor Hugo, and Djehuty. The party would devolve into his friends, in varying degrees of sobriety, yelling at Hugo. The other artists would likely join in on general principles. Djehuty would likely be upset at all this chaos, so Jehan would slip away to have a quiet conversation with him away from all the shouting.

Awww, Prouvaire. Djehuty can handle parties! The Egyptian pantheon is a pretty partying crowd! But yes, he would probably rather chill at a side-table with Jehan for a bit.

Emcee would invite all his Kit Kat Klub boys and girls, Marlene Dietrich, Greta Garbo, Rudolph Valentino, Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford, Chalie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, and the Marx Brothers. From Milliways he would invite everyone who he'd ever had a drink with, had sex with, or...like, talked to.

And also Dr. Frank-N-Furter. Because.

Oh, and Ziggy Stardust-era David Bowie.

Yes, it's going to be a big crazy party.
