DE: Degrees of Separation
I just discovered that my Degree of Separation from Mads Mikkelsen is 1 (and hence, 2 to everybody else involved in creating the 'Hannibal' TV canon) -- because a photographer who has taken a very good picture of me (that I use on all my more official realname channels as user pic) also has an interesting picture of Mads Mikkelsen in his portfolio -- the same lens has seen us, and the same acute and kind photographic gaze.
So, talk about your degree of separation from the creators of your canons? Any of you got down to a zero, that is, met them?

...though I did confuse AJ a bit by asking him to sign a drawing of a kazoo. Long story.
EJO's also got a link to Chris Evans, thanks to Agents of SHIELD, so that puts me...what, three or four degrees from everybody involved with Snowpiercer? Sadly, I've got no idea about any of the Legends of Korra crew.
(And in canons I adore but don't play in Milliways, I found out yesterday I'm two or three degrees removed from the entire Hamilton cast -- a HS classmate of mine made it to Broadway a few years ago, and it turns out she was in a play with Okieriete Onaodowan, aka Hercules Mulligan/James Madison. This will delight me unaccountably for a long while.)

Zoe does the same thing all the time.
I am surrounded by Hamilton references.

I have met the creator of the Tracksuit Draculas, the illustrious Matt Fraction, when he and Chipper came to my comic shop last year. I asked Chip to lick Matt, on behalf of a friend. There's a video.
(That's totally diegetic music, btw. True story.)
A couple months before that, I met then Carol Danvers scribe and general writing hero Kelly Sue DeConnick at Dragon Con. I took a duckface selfie with her and Patty. So we have also been seen by the same lens. Sometimes she reblogs me on Tumblr and I freak out.
Also at Dragon Con, I met Eaddy Mays, who played Allison's mom on Teen Wolf, and is also a really kind, funny person who really gets fandom more than many actors. I can't remember if Victoria and Stiles even had any scenes together, but still, that's 1 to the other actors and creative team.
As far as I know I have no connection to anyone involved in Downton, and I've never met Seanan McGuire.

I used to live in tiny Conyers, GA, which is where Holly Hunter is from, and a friend used to point out her house all the time. Does that count?
Also I thought about apping Lagertha for a while, but then decided it would all be a bit weird because Tony has, with the help of my second cousin's ridiculously detailed and extensive genealogy research, worked out that Rollo is my ancestor. XD

I think it was the link through William the Conqueror. I think. I was too busy facepalming to pay much attention. We had just started watching Vikings, and T was very amused about it. XD

If I had ever played Aloysius Crumrin, I could have claimed a 1 degree as I used to hang out with his creator long ago.
When I was playing Brimstone from A Daughter of Smoke and Bone, I did email the author for a question and asked if she minded if I played him. Does that count? And for the record, she was onboard and seemed to love the idea of someone playing her characters.

I am 98.5% sure Tammy has read Some Stuff in Milliways due to comments she made on her journal ages ago. I am both intrigued and horrified at the idea. Mostly I would flail and babble at her about how important she was to young!me if I ever knew for sure. XD

I honestly don't remember if I mentioned Milliways by name or gave links, as I know Seanan Mcguire doesn't/can't read fanfic, so thought it'd be more polite to wait for Lani to ask if she were interested.
I don't know how I'd react if an author found my portrayals of their characters. Likely complete chagrin.

And I ... saw, but did not speak to, Bryke at NYCC. And not actually a canon I play here anymore, but Grim Fandango creator Tim Schafer liked my tweet about being the only person in the world who likes the original tank controls.
Really, I'm pretty sure the only celebrity I've "met" as in spoken to at length for any period of time is Martin Sheen, which then-14-year-old me was super excited about given that I was really into The West Wing at the time. Which gets me to Korra through the degrees of separation game through Jennifer Hale via Mass Effect, and Hannibal through Laurence Fishburne (it took me a really long time to get that one, I haven't seen Apocalypse Now in a long time okay).

I guess the closest it comes is that I've had conversations on twitter or DW or LJ with people who are probably a degree or two from Patricia C. Wrede, though that's just an educated guess. Victor Hugo: no. The Les Mis movie and Broadway/West End/etc shows: not to my knowledge, and anyway the musical isn't really the version I'm pulling from, icons aside. MCU: again, not to my knowledge, though that's a big enough movie industry that I do probably know someone who knows someone who worked on them somewhere.

And way, way back (literally ten years ago) when I played Trogdor, the Brothers Chapman and I lived in the same Atlanta suburb -- Decatur, GA. They frequented the same bowling alley we did.

I've met one of the creators of Life of Mars and tweeted with the other. Also been about six inches from Phil Glenister in a theatre, who plays Gene. And PG was in Kingdom of Heaven, directed by Ridley Scott, who leads on to RC and Les Mis again.
I've met an actor who has done movies/is friends with Robert Downey Jnr, so three steps to Mark Ruffalo's Banner and 4 to the MCU overlords. Actually, that same actor gives me a Christian Bale number of 3, so 4 to Christopher Nolan/Batman producers. And on checking the Bacon Number website thing, apparently that actor is actually two steps from Ruffalo, so...I'm getting very confused now.
....oh, I've just remembered an easier way. A friend of mine was in a movie with Colin Farrell, who was in Winter's Tale with Russell Crowe, and therefore is probs a quicker link to just about everyone else in Les Mis 2012.

Edit: Vicarious! That's the word I was trying to think of.

In terms of other actors and all, I've met John Rhys-Davies, Doug Jones and been at the same con that Kaylee's actor was at. I've also met Ursula Vernon and Tamora Pierce, they're both amazing.
I bought a purse from Karl Urban's Dad in Wellington, New Zealand. I think that's all. Oh and I've seen Alan Cumming in Cabaret.

But, as some of you may recall, I used to play YT from Snow Crash, and I have met Neal Stephenson, while he was doing a book tour for Quicksilver. I actually brought in my ratty old paperback of Snow Crash for him to sign, and told him I'd read it multiple times. I think he was genuinely touched. :)

Henry Mills - I've met several OUaT cast members at D*C, but not his. Nor the creators.
Lois Lane - I have met several Smallville actors at D*C! I even dressed as DCAU Lois for the occasion. So not er, but close! Never met the creators.
Evelyn Trevelyan - I probably actually have some weird contact through some games people I know, but I don't know of any off the top of my head.
Star Wars - I met Chewbacca at Dragon*Con! *endless squee* Other than that, no. ...I should never meet Lucas, I would thank him for creating the best space fantasy he should never be allowed to touch again.
Tavi - I regularly see Jim Butcher at conventions (especially D*C) or on tours and talk to him whenever I do see him. And might ask him detail-oriented questions he probably thinks are totally insane. I got to talk with him for like twenty minutes more or less one on one in 2014. Also my sci-fi group took him out to dinner once. Maybe one day I'll stop being so frightened that I just slide into auto-respect and call him 'Mr. Butcher' all scared and things.

And my dad used to be on a committee with Viggo's aunt, Tulle.
