So has anyone else noticed pups that don't seem to want their canon stories told? For example, Selina started with a few OOMs covering events in Gotham, but now she just wants to stroll into Milliways and not bother with events back home.

Does this happen for anyone else? If not, how about other surprises your pups have given you in how you expected play with them to be?

I was planning for post-canon plot with Father Harman, but he's been content to just be the Milliways parish priest, which he finds very relaxing, compared to his usual duties. He is slightly amused by the whole thing himself.

Oh, man, that has happened to me so often. Alana Bloom has absolutely no desire to go home and face her Hannibal, and Tahno is stuck in limbo, too.

I set up Moist with the plan of not hurrying him into canon which has worked out.

Ivan's surprised me as much younger him from canon points with more canon but don't match up are where he keeps being louder. Mainly I've been playing that version over in sandboxes.

None of the others have been that much trouble as I knew that canon would be going slowly or I wasn't going to rush to it.

I've definitely had my plans/interests change after I started playing a character, and some on my roster are more loosely tethered to canon than others.

Sometimes the difference is all me, like with Carol I've found I hair like randomly throwing her in rather than trying to reconcile the timelines of her various canon stories and trying to adhere to that. Sometimes the difference is the canon itself. All my characters come from open canons, and sometimes those canons very away from my interests. In the case of Teen Wolf, I feel like the later seasons are basically a different show, not just because some original characters are gone, but because the tone has dramatically shifted. For Downton Abbey, Dan Stevens wanted to leave the show, which meant Mary lost her husband suddenly and violently, and I'm not a huge fan of how her character arc played out after that.

It's Mary that will ultimately branch of the most from my original plans. I'm sure Bing remembers conversations about not doing such and such because it would disturb canon events. At this point Mary is already off book... she tells Matthew a secret about... eight years too early? That's going to have fallout. And of course friendships she's building in the bar will cause her to stray away from her cold, unfeeling canon persona.
