Weekend Entertainment: Pup testing ground

 I'm busy this morning, but with Missy(?) being on hiatus and it being so long since we've had a weekend entertainment, I couldn't resist. Tag in to test out pups you're thinking of apping in the coming cycle, old pups, AU versions of your pups or just whatever pups.

"I don't know", he admits. "It's all wide open now."

[wanderingsin]

"You feel freer, in yourself?" He asks, kissing Athelstan's throat because he can. "Are there still things that trouble you that I could help with?"

[athelstanthescribe]

"Oh, I'm not done yet." He smiles ruefully. "Just getting started, really."

[wanderingsin]

Sin laughs warmly and gives Athelstan's hand a squeeze. "I'm sure you are."

[athelstanthescribe]

"Which is to say. Yes, I still need help. I just don't know what kind, if it's a different kind."

[wanderingsin]

"Then I hope you remember that you can ask me anything, any time." Sin looks deep into his eyes.

[athelstanthescribe]

"I know", he promises, not looking away.

[wanderingsin]

Sin smiles, the sort of smile that lights up his eyes. "We should go and do something daring. Like ride bareback around the lake or dance in the rooftops."

Athelstan blinks.

"Well, um... are there horses for anybody to ride?"

[wanderingsin]

"I think so. Shall we go find out?"

[athelstanthescribe]

"Let's", Athelstan agrees, Sin's encouragement making him bold.

[wanderingsin]

Sin packs everything back into the pockets of his jacket and bounces to his feet, all bright colours and energy. He holds a hand out to Athelstan and kisses his cheek.

Athelstan laughs and takes his hand.

"The necklaces can wait, then?"

[wanderingsin]

"We're here where time is ours to use or waste as we please." He shrugs, "They can wait. Unless you'd like to take something now?"

[athelstanthescribe]

"No, I want my wits about me if we're going to be riding", he demurs. "Maybe after that."

[wanderingsin]

"No pressure, sweet one." He smiles and walks down to the stables, arm slipped though Athelstan's. For anyone who didn't know them, they would look exactly like a couple strolling in the evening air.

"Hello, beautiful creatures." Sin calls, walking to the stalls to give each of the horse a stroke and a handful of oats. "Which of you will let us ride today?"

Athelstan follows behind him, stroking a nose that prods at him curiously.

"Have you ridden any of them before?"

[wanderingsin]

"Not here, no." Sin finds a notice to say which horses are okay to ride and picks one. "Hello beautiful. Will you take us on an adventure?"

[athelstanthescribe]

The horse whickers and noses at Sin's neck.

"I think that might be a yes."

[wanderingsin]

"I think you might be right." Sin laughs, reaching for a bit and bridle but ignoring the saddles.

[athelstanthescribe]

"Will she take both of us", he asks, trying to judge the mare's strength, "or should I choose another one?"

[wanderingsin]

"I don't weigh much and neither do you. She'll have no problems with us. And riding bareback is easier with two." Well, it's easier for the person riding behind anyway.

[athelstanthescribe]

"All right, then." He eyes the bridle, trying to work out how to get up.

[wanderingsin]

Sin climbs up, quick and easy. Clearly he's done this before and guides the horse over to a mounting block.

"Step up there and then use my shoulders to steady yourself. Swing your foot over just like you would with a bike."

[athelstanthescribe]

That makes sense, and he nods and quickly obeys, trying not to lean too hard on Sin's shoulders.
