DE: Imagine...
Pulling from the suggestion box today, a question from
yinyangwizard :
Everyone (or at least most people) have idealistic dreams that they know are impossible to achieve - think "world peace." What are your pup's impossible dreams?

Brienne: earlier in canon, her dream would have been that Renly Baratheon triumphantly takes the Iron Throne. Somehow he does this without doing anything dishonorable at all. His reign ushers in an era of justice, chivalry, and prosperity. She herself gets to be his most faithful knight and also his true love, somehow.
Now that Renly's dead, her impossible dream has been replaced by a very difficult and unlikely (but not impossible) goal: find the lost Stark girls, if they still live, and protect them. (She is pretty sure Sansa is alive. Arya is more of a question.)
Combeferre: uh. World peace. More specifically, he wants worldwide democracy, including free education and freedom of scholarly inquiry, and he wants all this achieved 100% nonviolently. He himself considers this impossible, but that's what he wants.
Fantine: in life, she wanted Cosette to live with her and for them to be rich and to have pretty things. She also wanted a romance with a good dude. Given her luck, personality, and social status, all this was impossible. Especially the being rich part.
Jehan Prouvaire actually doesn't have impossible dreams! He has things he badly wants to happen but they are either achievable with a price, or else he knows they're not achievable and what he really wants is the struggle of trying for them.
He would definitely be thrilled at a tour of a divine realm (thank you, Djehuty) or a fairyland, but I don't know that this was an actual dream as opposed to a "this would be awesome but since it's not happening, a walk in the meadow is equally awesome, there is magic in an ordinary wildflower, etc" kind of thing.

No, well, a lot of the WORLD PEACE AND DEMOCRACY AND EDUCATION AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL HUMANITY he does think is achievable, even now, though that's taken a bit of a dent. It's just... the kind of aspiration that's achievable through constant work to bring it about and then maintain it. Nothing that you can achieve and then brush your hands off and call it good; even in his lifetime, he knew that.
But he's with Combeferre here -- he'd really like it if it could be achieved, and declared done, and all of that nonviolently. He's just much readier than Combeferre to wholeheartedly accept that it can't be.
Cosette would like everybody to be happy and well, and have plenty to eat, and have good lives.
Thor would like his brother alive and well and at his side, and the two of them working together for Asgard, as a team.
Kazul would like people to stop bothering her over stupid stuff, and wizards to stop bothering her, period. (Okay also she would like for everyone else to be able to live in peace too, but shhh. Anyway her world, at least the slice of it that we see, is... pretty G-rated.)

He would also like the mages of his world to stop bickering and work together to stop...well, all kinds of bad things.
But if he could only pick one impossible dream to achieve, it would be the first one, no question.

Javert: lol, dreams. No. Oh wait! Being accepted in society and guarding it proudly and not being hated because he's a cop who was born in jail NO WAIT of course he doesn't dream about that, he doesn't dream and anyway LOL IMPOSSIBLE, which is just as it should be.
Valjean: also mostly devoid of dreams, except being happy with Cosette, which looks like it may now happen. \o/
Courfeyrac: see Combeferre and Enjolras.
Bruce Wayne: a Gotham freed from the vice-grip of criminal tyranny, working for the good of its citizens, etc. He dares hope it's not impossible though, y'know, most evidence points to the contrary so far.
Bruce Banner: a world made better by Science. And a world where the Hulk doesn't exist, lol'ing forever, good luck with that one big guy.
Pearly: dreams of a room of solid gold, where he can sit and drink in the colour all day, and draw strength from its glow. But he's nuts, so it doesn't seem impossible. It just requires killing more people to get it, and the heist of the century. (This is canon, no joke.)
Moriarty: dreams of a world where people are not boring. No chance of that happening for him.
Aubrey: does not have idealistic fantasies. He dreams of the sea.
...OK OK, maybe also a sunny paradise with a lot of easy women to cater to his every whim, but that's about as far as his mind extends. He has little care for land-bound politics, or he state of the world. The last thing he wants is world peace, because then he'd be out of a job.
