DE: Choose your own adventure

Inspired by yesterday's great topic, what are some of the other AUs that you love? And if you feel like it, maybe write up a pup or two in those AUs.

And how did we get to the end of February so quickly?

Body Guard AU

[personal profile] isawit 2016-02-26 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
There's a new criminal organization that's come to town and has set it's sights on killing the son of Gotham, Bruce Wayne. Penguin hates any one moving in on his territory, let alone threatening one of his best playing pieces, so he sends one of his best body guards to watch over the boy.

The Wayne kid was just another job until Selina discovered how alone the boy was and how little he knew of being a kid. The games started as just another way to blend in but quickly turned into more than she was comfortable with. Too bad it was doomed from the start. How could the girl from the wrong side of the monorail ever hope to be with the boy from the manor?

Somewhere out there is a universe where Stitch is a cultured, erudite man about town. He's known for his dry wit, his flawless etiquette and his tastefully subdued fashion sense.

They're clearly ahead of their time. Someday pantslessness will be regarded as the pinnacle of high fashion.

But in that one he parts his hair down the middle! All the way down the middle. To his tail. Yes.

So basically he's Hank McCoy but with six limbs instead of four.

In some alternate universe, Seimei has completely rejected the human half of his heritage. He has become The Dragon for a powerful and charismatic demon who is well on his way to uniting the demon tribes of Japan into a vast and terrifying army. Seimei uses his powers of divination and spirit magic to spy for his master, perform covert assassinations, and take out any uppity priests/miko who may threaten his master's ambitions.

Seimei likes the idea of being the second-in-command for the King of Demons, but he's starting to think his master should have greater ambition - like taking on the gods...

i_am_your_host: (AU Emcee)

[personal profile] i_am_your_host 2016-02-26 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I still like the idea of Emcee surviving World War II. I need to tweak some things about his rescue and the immediate aftermath to include the fact that he had to get rid of the pink triangle on his shirt once he was freed. Or else the American soldiers would have no choice but to send him to prison again, according to German law. And that idea makes me physically sick. So he would have had to quickly make friends within the system to help him emigrate.

I also have a crack AU that has Emcee as Eric's progeny in the True Blood world, but that's staying firmly in my head. For now.

Personally, I like the double cross over between the first AU, Milliways, and Emcee's and Eric's world's turning out to be the same.

Although Pam might be really puzzled as to why they would suddenly be going to New York all the time.
(... because I liked middle aged Emcee, dammit, and I always enjoy conflicted Eric)

That's an interesting alternative! Middle-aged Emcee wouldn't mind being watched over by a big, hot vampire. And Pam wouldn't mind the frequent shopping trips, though she'd be sure Eric was taking care of a pet human or something. Squishy Eric.

And Eric would be all, ".... no, I'm not."

The sympathetic GI was what I was thinking of, too. I fleshed that part out a little bit in a thread with AU Noriko during the AU plot, where he tells that a soldier had to carry him out of the barracks during the liberation (and Emcee ended up naming his cat after him). I have to do more research on this part of the war, too. It's heartbreaking to know that it wasn't over for the camp survivors who were gay, as they faced continued imprisonment, or I believe deportment as an alternative, which I have to look into. Still a complicated and dark part of that piece of history.

Tavi is born 12 to 24 hours early.

As a result, his aunt Alia survives First Calderon (due to not bleeding out while helping Isana through labor).

Septimus has time prior to the battle to write a letter to his mother, but not send it; after his death Alia manages to stealthily send it to her. While it doesn't explicitly mention Tavi, it gives her hope enough to hang in there. Sextus' wife survives. Aleran politics are drastically changed.

With Alia as an extra healer, while Bernard's first wife Cassea still dies of the Blight, their daughters survive, though the older is left blind. Tavi becomes a highly protective surrogate older brother, and the girls turn into Toph Bei Fong and Arya Stark, personality-wise. Alia may or may not affect Tavi's furycraft developing, but four awesome women dead pre-canon come into play.

Space AU is always the best AU! :D

I, uh, I gotta be a lot more awake to write something up, though.

I kinda think that Tegid ends up in our world at some point, so Lewis can transcribe his side of the Paradise wars, though if I have my way, they are just gonna meet up in Milliways after canon. Which reminds me I need to app Lewis. But that isn't AU is it?

Um.... There are tons of AU Daniel Jackson and Vala worlds. I mean there is one where Vala is still host to Katesh.

I really don't think about them so much so I don't have many. Anyone wanna adopt a Naruto?

One that has been sitting in my head for ages:
In a world that has killed (almost) all its gods because they were more trouble than they were worth, one of the most productive power plants on the planet is catastrophically destroyed. Political conflicts coincidentally begin escalating and an old nearly forgotten organization dedicated to slaying monsters and the gods themselves starts making noise again. But what counts as a monster or a god in this world? What was once thought to be divine power is now replicated by science and technology. But is it actual rigorous science and not just half understood magic covered up by clever engineering?

What ensues is a political drama/monster of the week mash-up. It gets cancelled before the first season is over for being too confusing.

There's a world out there where Dixie became a nun.

Be very afraid, that universe.
