DE: YOLO

I stealing the topic today. Inspired by Clive Standen's Instagram (wherein he's be trolling team Ragnar a lot)...

Social media has come to Milliways. I don't know how, perhaps through the t-minuses. What sort of social media would your pup gravitate towards and what would their content be? Feel free to make up a new Milliways specific type of social media. = ]

Yrael discovers SoundCloud and uses it to terrifying results primarily uses it to spread awareness of up and coming music talent. Fans follow his account for the occasional posts where the Bright Shiner shares his own original music, which blows everything else out of the water.

Sunshine would spend her time curating a fantastic baking vegetarian food blog, answering questions and demystifying some of the trickier aspects of complex baking.

Emcee would be so into Twitter and Instagram. He'd post selfies from everywhere and with everyone. Also the kind of dramatic glamour shots where he'd be like "all made-up and nowhere to go SIGH" and "woke up like this #nofilters #nomakeup"

Pam would be a Pinterest kind of girl, and her collections would naturally consist of fashion. And lots and lots of shoes. She would occasionally use Tumblr to reblog witty misanthropic/antisocial quotes.

I think Floki would take to Facebook. He'd be like that one overly religious friend you have, except instead of posting memes that say things like "Jesus saves, share if you agree" of course they'd say "share in the name of Odin the Allfather." He would read comments and then get into arguments. And he would repost HGTV and life hack videos.

Let's be real: Alistair would probably run something like [twitter.com profile] dog_rates, complete with companion Instagram full of #dogsofinstagram posts. (And occasional selfies when his hair was particularly on point.)

Jim - all of them. Literally all of them, and he would be the ultimate troll on every platform available.

Cyborg is probably on most of the major platforms, albeit under separate accounts for Vic Stone and for Cyborg (the way a close novelist friend has a public LJ account to talk with her fans and a private alias'ed account to talk with her friends). He tweets a lot, and is one of those people with lots of news feeds for obvious superhero reasons.

Are there specialized social media platforms for academics? Because that is what Swamp Thing would use. He would love to keep up with the wide world of botany and horticulture that he misses from the old days.

Charlie would be trolling every thing he could. Facebook is especially useful for such things to him.

Kirk has no interest in social media.

And Knox...reporters are expected to have Twitter handles now, and to be well versed in such things. But what he really likes to do is blogging.

Eric is the kind of person who keeps an eye on people - and social media is good for that.

(So what if he knows which filter makes him look the best on Insta?Total coincidence. )

Emcee would "like" all of Eric's pics without commenting.

Pam would do the same and realize that Emcee is doing it too, and later she'd tell Eric that she thinks he's stalking him.

[personal profile] onceaviking 2016-04-19 07:35 pm (UTC)(link)
And Eric would be all dismissive and disinterested.
(Except that he'd kind of be a little disappointed if one of his photos didn't get at the very least two likes)

Feuilly would have a very serious blog for very serious political discussion and book reviews, but he would also have two or three or five or six art tumblrs. (spoiler alert: they turn into political discussion and book review too periodically) (even the one that's supposed to just be football stuff)

Lesgle probably tries to informally coordinate with Joly about who keeps up with what. He's also a terrible evil meanie jerk who takes advantage of Joly staying logged in to take over Joly's FB and tumblr (...I mean I'm assuming Joly is -at least- on there) and post pictures of Joly sleeping with the cats on top of him.

Are you kidding? Of course Joly's on Tumblr. And Facebook. And Instagram. With pictures of cats and retaliatory pictures of Legle being inconvenienced by them, and oh gad, they're That Couple that never shuts up about their cats and their Cute SO. They're monsters.

Will would I think be on Twitter, that's how the Merry Men would organize and possibly Facebook too. Cryptic messages that rally people along with silly vines and selfies. Robin has the largest follower count and Will and John are always doing silly jokes. Allan posts on YouTube with his songs, the Sheriff is constantly trying to shut them down but it never works.

Charles would run a blog on mutant issues and be on Twitter to connect with educators and politicians. He still comments on science blogs and articles but under a pseudonym. His students convince him to get an Instagram and he has a Facebook and when he was at Oxford, there were pictures of science and fun nights out.

Quentin is definitely on various social media platforms as he's a teen who has access to a fancy phone that works in the Summerlands. He tends to post delicious food he's eaten, books, sometimes video games, not a lot of selfies because the one time he did that, he suddenly had a lot of followers going wow, you're hot. He still follows some of the people he knew from high school but under a different name.

William would post on Instagram, lovely and simple pictures of going out riding but not a lot about himself. Sometimes bragging on his brother who keeps encouraging him to actually do a blog about being a cowboy.

Sameth would have a Tumblr, Instagram and blog focused on what he's making and then a more official Twitter and Facebook for official stuff. He has an entire following of people who try to replicate the kinds of things he makes and people try to convince him to sell them, usually he gives them away when his workshops too crowded.

Jane has a number of different presences that range from polite and what the world expects to posts that get passed around the internet where she dissects society. People argue if the author and the person writing the posts are the same person, everyone knows they must be but she keeps everything just separate enough.

Ivan, hm, he's from a pretty technological world but I don't think social media ever comes up, there's clearly broadcast news. I think he wouldn't be on a lot of social things but he'd watch them, too easy to make a misstep and he's one of those guys who on his older Facebook and Twitter feeds are pictures of him drunk. Now he uses Instagram and Twitter to share more culturally appropriate things as an ambassador with lots of images of his lovely wife, Tej.

Demeter would run a food and farming blog, at the moment, there's a lot of discussion of refugees. Kore's on more platforms but between the two of them they connect and let people know where to find food or if they need help.

Tumnus runs a blog about the history of Narnia and baking with occasional pictures of the Pevensies or travels.

I could see Sameth having an Etsy shop for little handcrafted trinkets.

True but he would have to be persuaded that people are interested. Social media would actually be really good for him realizing how cool what he makes is.

I can see Sariel with an instant messenger of some kind - maybe IM, maybe something else - quite easily. Her friends and family miiiiight talk her into facebook or twitter, but I can't see her with much more than that.

Seimei would have an Instagram account for sharing photos of scenic views. (His mun, by the way, is not on Instagram.)

He would also have a Slashdot-style message board (remember Slashdot?) for discussing magical theories and techniques. I have a feeling something like that exists in his universe.

Steve has a DeviantArt account, where he posts works-in-progress under a pseudonym for critique and advice. Most people think he's a really die-hard fanboy. He also has a Twitter where mostly he reblogs charity announcements, and an Instagram where mostly he posts beautifully composed pictures of the Avengers and Orpheus without captions. He gave up responding to all the comments about two months in.
