DE: Job interview edition
Sorry for dropping the ball yesterday; I was on a somewhat spontaneous job interview (and will be again on Thursday, but Thursday isn't mine).
So, on that theme: Your character is applying for a job inside Milliways, either for the bar or for another patron who runs some sort of service or organisation.
What kind of job is it, and how would they describe their abilities and strengths that makes them a good candidate.
Bonus fun interaction: you see one of your charries as the potential employer / boss, and jump in to flesh out the interview a little.

Also, he could potentially build a card catalog worthy of the Milliways library - one that employs divinatory magic and shikigami to help people find the right books. You would write what you're looking for (author, title, subject) on a card and put it in a catalog drawer. It would emerge as a little paper person and lead you to the appropriate book(s).
...I have clearly given way too much thought to this.
Anyway. Good luck on your job interview, and hopefully we can pick up the thread with Dōji and young Margolotta again. I have an idea for that and I'll send you a PM.

Javert - wellll, the only job he'd apply for here would also be Security, but that's never going to happen. He'd be a good fit in that he will enforce the rules, always - but he's far too unbending for the leeway they give. If he were applying he'd be all 'I have given my life to apprehending and guarding criminals', etc but there's not a chance he'd apply these days.
Valjean - gardener. I'm going to get him out there sometime soon, not even for money. He would point out his experience as a pruner, which is his original profession, and five years doing the job in the Paris convent.
Courfeyrac - would probably make a great tutor for kids of some sort, though his cheerful demeanour is strongly underlaid with 'yes kids, it's totally OK - no, necessary - to pick up a gun and bring down the government if they don't listen to you', so, y'know, there's that. He would totally list that as a plus point in an application though. He could always lawyer for someone too, but he's already dead so why kill himself further?
Bruce Wayne - is only really suited to Security in-bar. Not that he can really cite Batman as an application strength...except he totally can now X is head of Security.
Bruce Banner - would not apply for anything. He'll volunteer science services on an ad hoc basis if someone needed help, but no more than that.
Jack Aubrey - only knows the sea, the stars, music and - when he's a bit further along in canon - mathematics. Not really applicable to M'ways jobs, though if someone needs a sea captain, he's your man. Later on in life he'll also be something of a politician (inherited, not through choice), but God knows he wouldn't want that as an actual job.
Jim - lolololol will not be applying to work for anyone else, no. He's an employer of specialist employees.

...to send Bahorel into an spasm of horror and disgust, maybe! Just for the lulz, and then he'd quit. :D

Henry is just a kid. He does like reading, though, so maybe in the library? His qualifications are "I like books."
Lois might go for bartending, but honestly she'd probably just decide to start up her own Milliways Digest and write that. She's very Lois that way.
Evelyn is probably the librarian type at this point in her life. It might change. Her qualifications that she would awkwardly describe are that she's a student and spends a lot of time in libraries, and knows about organizing and book up-keep and loves them.
R2-D2... uh. I don't know? Maybe working in the garage--he's a helpful handyperson assistant--or in the Bar. Whatever his qualifications, they would be delivered to Bar in words only she can understand.
Anakin well and truly wants to be on Security. He's a Jedi! They are all about order and keeping peace (or at least they are when they aren't fighting a war but never mind that). He is powerful and trained in combat and has no fear of facing down things. He would gladly talk about this at length, explaining some of his duties and how he wants to help out in the Bar and why he'd be good at it. Secondarily, he would want to positively swarm all over the garage. He wouldn't even bother describing his strengths. He'd just show, both mechanical and flight demonstrations.
Tavi, um. He actually likes occasionally doing a bartending session, but he'd want to make it clear that he just wants to be kind of an emergency back-up bartender for irregular shifts. He's got experience in it at this point, he is good with memory, and he likes talking to people in Milliways. But anyone actually having authority over him... is not a thing he does anymore.
I do actually want to answer Bonus Fun Interactions, or at least one, but that will take some time.

Ahsoka - Funny enough, i pegged her as Security or working in the garage before even reading Anakin's answer above. I can also see her working in teh stables for some reason. I get a vague feeling she'd be okay with animals; a mix of her people's connection with nature and the Force.
Sabine - Forge or Garage; she's very technical minded. I might see her doing Security in the future but not while she's being a bounty hunter.
Rollo - Stables or Forge. He's good for manual labor and might even know a thing or two about working a forge. I don't trust him not to try and abuse a position of Security to his advantage.
Eliot - First thought is bar tender. He is very good at mixing drinks and chatting people up. He might work out in the magical library as well, since he has experience with books that behave oddly. (Love wins)
Izana - They'd be good working in the garage or tending bar I think. Possibly serving out on the floor as well. They don't have service qualifications but they are friendly and polite. They do have a lot of technical know how, almost having become an engineer before qualifying for the pilot program. (In fact, I was tempted to tag them into Jay's building party but RL was being too demanding.)
Selina - Dish washing or serving? I don't think there's much call for thieving skills in the Milliways staff
