DE: And now, the weather

What is the climate like where your charries are from, and what kind of weather do they like best? How do they deal with the weather in the Milliways outside area?

Sunshine: I have vaguely placed New Arcadia vaguely in the area of Vague, Pennsylvania. Vaguely. *grins* This is based on some of the geographical references and the few other town names mentioned in canon. It's not anything like certain (the "vague"s may have given it away), but that's mentally where I have it. Close enough to New York City that it might be considered odd that she's never been. Her climate generally matches that of the north-eastern U.S. Surprise, surprise, Sunshine's favorite weather is warm and sunny.

Yrael: The Old Kingdom is a metaphor for Scotland. The bar's climate suits Yrael just fine. His favorite weather is also warm and sunny, because that opens up a world of outdoor napping spots and the demon bunnies are more likely to be out, feeding in the nice weather. Cold rain and mist are his least favorites.

Pam lives in Shreveport, Louisiana, which is in the deep South of the United States, which means heat and humidity. Pam hates this. The humidity does terrible things to her hair, so she uses a ton of styling products to keep it looking awesome. She liked living in San Francisco as a human, since the fog reminded her of London where she grew up. But she doesn't like a lot of rain because that just ruins her shoes and clothes. Milliways weather has no bearing on her because she doesn't go outside. (No, really, she doesn't.) I think she likes dry and cool best. Whatever doesn't mess with her hair.

Eric seconds the urgh regarding the weather of the Deep South.

He misses the coolness of the high North and the bright nights

Eliot seems to live in upper state New York. Scenes suggest magical weather control as the climate always seems to be temperate and sunny, which suits him fine. Too hot and it makes his suits wrinkle. He might miss out on playing the debonair snow bunny, but Milliways can provide for that yes?

Ahsoka and Sabine come from canons with either monoclimates or artificial ones. Ahsoka seems to hate cold and prefect hot cliamtes which feature plains, while Sabine is a city gal.

That's about all I'm getting for now.

Enjolras and Cosette are both from early 19th century France. Milliways' pseudo-Scotland is somewhat colder than they're used to, but it's still in the same general climate. (Enjolras is "from the south" per canon, but I have him being from a pretty mountainous southeastern region, not from the extra-balmy Mediterranean regions. And Cosette has lived most of her life in Paris, and before that was still in pretty much the same climate.)

Both of them are pretty happy with any kind of weather they can walk outside in and not get drenched -- or worry about people dying of hypothermia or heatstroke if they're sleeping or working outside. Cosette notices whether it's a pretty day and Enjolras mostly doesn't, though.

Thor likes thunderstorms a lot!!

What we know about Asgard's weather is that it's sunny sometimes, it snows sometimes, and people sometimes wear warmer clothes but nobody seems really bothered by temperature changes, and Thor definitely doesn't. So. Basically he's good with any kind of weather, but his favorites are a) weather you can walk or picnic with friends in, and b) stormy weather of any kind.

Kazul's world seems to be generally sort of central European but milder, or at least there's no onscreen mention of winter at any point. That said, she's a big furnace with scales. She likes balmy weather; I think she likes snow pretty well, especially if she can fly, but in hot weather she'd overheat and get uncomfortable and cranky without at least a large water source to cool off in. Milliways is generally fine with her.

Kreyu has lived pretty much anywhere capable of supporting life at one time or another, and she doesn't have much in the way of preferences.

Ibani grew up Ilum, which is an iceball and then went on to Korriban, which is all cold desert. She'd like to live somewhere warm for a change of pace!

Hotspur is from northern England and spends time on both sides of the Scottish border and still insists that it doesn't rain enough in Milliways to be compared to Scotland.

Segundus and Arabella are likewise English, he from Yorkshire and ?? (I've said Oxford, I'm now realizing maybe it should have been Hampshire), and she is from Shropshire but has spend the last while in London. But in either case, Milliways is not terribly unfamiliar.

where is illyria no one knows

Seimei agrees with Hotspur that real Scotland is much rainier than Milliways' pseudo-Scotland. Also moderately colder.

(He doesn't live anywhere near the British Isles, of course, but he visits a lot.)
