DE: Up all night to find Bucky
Well, it's after 12am where I am, so here's Monday's topic:
Which of your character's tropes is your favorite? Apologies in advance if you lose time looking things up on tvtropes.

- It's Personal between them? Check. Moriarty is obsessed with Sherlock and Sherlock keeps his own version of Moriarty in his Mind Palace.
- The Bad Guy Wins: Destroys Sherlock's reputation in "The Reichenbach Fall", forcing Sherlock to fake his own death for a full 2 years.
- Victory Is Boring: As Sherlock points out, there is nothing that Moriarty can't already steal or buy. No problem presents a challenge for him. And Jim absolutely can't stand it. (This is one of the creepy Holmes/Moriarty parallels.)
annnnnd
- The Mad Hatter: He's out of his damn mind and proud of it.
Though lets be real, there's nothing on that list I don't enjoy. (NB: I'm not linking to the individual trope pages, because I refuse to click on them even to get the link address. I have stuff to do today, damnit!)

Anything That Moves -- Yes. Emcee has broad standards about who he'll have sex with. He does have standards, but they are broad. Very broad.
Stripperiffic -- I usually like to point out what Emcee is wearing because I envision him having a very stripped down sense of style. He would rather not wear any clothing at all, so what he wears has to be minimal and easily removable. (This ties in with Mr. Fanservice.)
Mood Whiplash -- Given how cheerful Emcee strives to be in the face of evil, this is going to happen. He can be wonderful and make you laugh, but let's face it, you're going to be kicked in the gut when something happens to him. I rely on this a lot in my OOMs. I hope it works!
Suspiciously Specific Denial -- "There are no troubles here!" When I started playing the Emcee, his denial was in full force. A couple years later, he's had to face that reality. He may still deny his true feelings to most people, saying that he's fine, everything's fine, everything's marvelous, but really, he's scared shitless inside. That's how he copes.
Those Wacky Nazis -- More and more I'm incorporating them into his storyline because unfortunately, in a historically specific timeline, they can no longer be avoided.
So hard to pick just one
Sabine - Art Attacker: Quite literally; she uses an explosive paint she can detonate at will. Her promotional short is even called "Art Attack". Highly Visible Ninja is a close second. Also, Renaissance Man: A female example. She's the designated Demolitions Expert and her passion is art, but she also serves as the team's translator, hacker, electronics expert and combatant.
Sam - Badass Mustache: A highly trained, competent superhero that sports a goatee. A Friend in Need: Does not hesitate to open his door to the fugitive Steve and Natasha. The Heart: He's a PTSD counselor and fellow war veteran, and in Winter Soldier, one of his key roles is helping Steve open up emotionally.
Hank - Adorkable: In X-Men: First Class. Soft spoken, stutters, asks Raven out on the pretext of getting a blood sample and then apologizes for being forward. Battle Butler: He essentially fulfills this role for Charles. In addition to looking after his ex-mentor's needs and maintaining the mansion, McCoy also serves as Xavier's bodyguard. And eventually, Cultured Badass.
Izana - The Lancer: Becomes one in the course of the story to Nagate's Hero. Eventually will also have An Arm and a Leg, and Artificial Limbs, with the sub-features of Badass Transplant and Swiss Army Appendage.
Selina - Badass Adorable
Eliot - Can't decide between Camp Guy, The Chosen One, or Drowning My Sorrows.
Rollo - Byronic Hero: He's cynical and jaded, intensely passionate and ambitious, driven by his perceived inferiority to his brother, and is quite charismatic. Genius Bruiser: Takes a level in this in season 4, showing an exceptional strategic mind. He outmaneuvers or matches Ragnar move for move. Although, Cool Uncle is what won me over.

Alistair: Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass. "Moron" is a bit too harsh, but yeah, this is one of my favorite tropes in any canon, and Alistair's got it in spades. Runners-up are Adorkable, The Dork Knight, and Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking (for his comments in DA2 that being king consists of "Oh the usual: attempted assassinations, uprisings, fancy parties with stinky cheeses...").
Gaeta: Cast Show Off. The whole reason Gaeta sings to distract himself from losing his leg? Is because the producers discovered AJ was a classically-trained opera singer and went, "Let's work this into the show somehow!"
Curtis: Badass Beard. Hey look, Dejah, there's a reason he doesn't shave! I mean what. Runner-up: I'm a Humanitarian, just because I find that trope name hilariously awful.

Sunshine - Too many to pick! Sunshine is my favorite Cowardly Lion, Girl Next Door, Chef of Iron with The Power of the Sun, who lives in a Close-Knit Community in a Crapsack World, tries to Refuse the Call, fails, then teams up with her Friendly Neighborhood Vampire to try and avert The End of the World As We Know It.
But I particularly do love the use of the Unreliable Expositor trope in Sunshine's story. Rae explains how society understands the world to work, and as she goes through canon, she learns more about the way things really are, which contradicts a lot of what she (and everyone else in human society) has been told to be true. Several things that "everyone knows" turn out to be proven untrue by canon's end.

For The Grey Warden in Dragon Age -- I like The Gloves Come Off. Also Archmage. Because I am ridiculous and it makes me laugh? Also they nerfed the mage class in later games, so. Yeah.

Eriond - A Boy and His X, Phosphor-Essence.
Henry - Let's go with Genre Savvy (as it is basically a weapon for him), Luke You Are My Father (for the lolz, see below), Guile Hero, and The Cassandra.
Lois - The Lois Lane. She is a trope unto herself.
Evelyn - A little hard for me to pick! Right Man in the Wrong Place, Unluckily Lucky, Touched by the Vorlons (partly because lol trope name and partly because of who the Vorlons are in this case), for mine Adorkable totally applies, and Weirdness Magnet. Because these are basically the things that make her life totally bizarre.
R2-D2 - Only Sane Man, Sir Swears-A-Lot, The Unintelligible, Undying Loyalty.
Anakin - ... let's go with Indy Ploy ("What's the plan, sir?" "Follow me." etc), because otherwise I will be here all day as I comb through his pages. Yes, multiple. Because it's Anakin. Oh! Except for Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot, that's just great. And Physical Religion because it cites "I find your lack of faith disturbing." And Luke I Am You Father because trope creator. And Pet the Dog, and-- okay okay I am stopping now. *runs away from Star Wars pages, straight into...*
Tavi - Crazy Enough to Work, Beware the Nice Ones, Nice Job Breaking It Hero, The Plan, Person of Mass Destruction, Refuge in Audacity, Like Father Like Son, frankly the entirety of his entry, and, of course: Names To Run Away From Really Fast. Seriously, the last one.
...someone rescue me i'm stuck in the alera trope pages

Gordon- while I probably ought to say Badass Bookworm or One Man Army, I'm kind of fond of No OSHA Compliance. If only because it's so very easy to hear poor Gordon wishing death and destruction on every ninnyhammer responsible for the architecture and layout of the Black Mesa Disaster Factory.
Shephard- does not actually have a whole lot of tropes to himself as they don't have a page for Opposing Force. I'm going with What Happened To The Mouse? because Valve's avoided doing anything with him for even longer than they've avoided doing anything with Half-Life 3.
El Santo- Humble Hero and Big Good. With a side of Becoming the Mask, because as Cracked.com said, they buried him in the El Santo mask so St. Peter would realize who was coming and get out of the way.
Stacker Pentecost - Defiant to the End
Varric Tethras - Undying Loyalty and The Anti-Nihilist
Hernan Guerra/Superman, Son of Zod- Pet the Dog. Seriously, if you watch Justice League: Gods and Monsters, and then read any of the tie-in comics about him or watch the "Bomb" short about him, you'll see what I mean.
Fawkes- Gone Horribly Right. He's got supermutant killtastic rage issues like the rest of his kind, but he's found a very good use for them instead of trying to deny them altogether. It is not a good idea to be evil in a part of the Wasteland where Fawkes can find you.
Wee Mad Arthur- Heroic Comedic Sociopath

Will: Composite Character-completely accurate with how I play him and oh the Robin Hood page is well done. I may take a longer look at that another time.
Quentin: Puppy-dog eyes, yes, I love that though he hasn't them that much in Milliways, also Bi the Way, great trope name, Genre Savvy and this is another fun page and a lot of his good tropes are spoilers.
Charles: I'm only going to look at the XMFC tropes page so I don't drown in all of his tropes. Adorkable, Artistic license-Biology, Big brother instinct-a number of mine share this trope or brotherly tropes, Care-bear stare-that's perfect, Foe Romance Subtext, I Am Very British-that's been interesting to play with. Moving on as even for the movie, so many tropes.
William: Combat Pragmatist, "Well Done Son!" Guy reversed
Sameth: The Berserker, though I haven't done as much with it but I've been thinking about it more of late, Magitek-which canon doesn't give helpful descriptions of, Gadgeteer Genius, Royals Who Actually Do Something-another trope I like
Moist von Lipwig: Refuge in Audacity-so much fun to play, Actual Pacifist, Blatant Lies, Emergency Stash, Even Evil Has Standards
Becoming Jane doesn't have a page but Jane Austen does and I play Jane as a Deadpan Snarker and she talks about Truth in Fiction
Ivan: Badass Bureaucrat, Brilliant but Lazy, Early Installment Weirdness/Characterization Marches on-grateful for this, Hero of Another Story-love the name of that trope
Demeter-Ooh she's a master character as the nurturer which works. In the mythology section: Fertile Feet, Gaia's Vengeance, Reasonable Authority Figure, Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds-I love that
Tumnus: Bookworm, What Measure is a Non-Human?, Platonic Life Partners-yes, I get disturbed by actually shipping him

Gringoire- Butt Monkey and Loveable Coward both fit him just. So well. Yeah, he's nobody's hero. Esmerelda tells him flat out she doesn't expect him to be any sort of protection and he totally agrees with her, and they're both unfortunately right.
and agh there's been another edit war on the LM pages, so there's not a lot to choose from, but I guess that makes it easy
Joly-Hugo is really definite about Joly being Adorkable. And the
HeterosexualLife Partners situation with Bossuet is important enough to be part of Joly's introduction repeatedly.Bahorel -Boisterous Bruiser, down to the rural background, good grief, though Emotional Bruiser possibly fits even better). Big Brother Instinct probably actually comes into play even more, though- he really can't turn it off. He gets exactly one conversation where he's not in that mode at all, and it's because he's yelling at invisible bourgeoisie. As you do.
