What sort(s) of armor, whether metaphorical or physical, does your pup rely on?

Gene - his .44 Magnum, his fists, and his own magnificence.

Banner - Hulk.

Wayne - Batstuff.

Valjean - uses no armour, he just lets shit hit him.

Javert - he is shielded by the LAWR. (This is not a joke, it's canonically a symbolic Thing.)

Aubrey - handy with a sword and fists, but has no actual armour. His ship often carries Marines though, and it's their job to shoot shit and do the land fighting, at least in principle.

Jim - his own intelligence, planning ability, and propensity to be a chameleon. Plus, invisible teams of snipers and assorted criminal types who watch his back. But he wouldn't wear anything so crass as body armour. So amateur. If there was a situation where such a thing might be necessary, he just wouldn't put himself in that situation. He plays the people, not their weapons.

Canon says trolls find the concept of a defense offensive! Despite this I am working up to getting Karkat to try sword-and-board.

Metaphorically, Karkat's entire personality is a defense mechanism. It's a Knight thing. DAVE.

Dave has no idea what you're talking about, and has never even heard of that river in Egypt.
