 What are your characters' preferred domestic animals, and why? Bonus if it's canon, like Ragnar and his baby goats.

Bruce Banner likes dogs! Annnnd, not a single other one of my boys has a pet.

Actually Jack likes dogs too, and loves horses, but he's rarely on land enough to enjoy them.

Jim would never have a dog or cat because God, hair all over the suits. No.

Courfeyrac had a Marius for a while.

A Marius is a pretty good low-maintenance apartment pet. Like yeah, a Marius can be emotionally needy, but they're quiet and clean, they walk themselves, they don't eat a lot...

A bit closed off though, and hardly ever up for play. Still! Courfeyrac has no complaints. He was certainly pretty, and a source of affectionate amusement. *pats him*

YT is fond of dogs, particularly Pit Bulls. In canon she had one, briefly, but for various reasons couldn't keep it at home.

(In a canon full of pretty horrible things, YT losing Fido is probably the most emotionally wrenching of said horrible things. At least to me.)

Man, now I'm trying to think if any of my characters have canon domestic animals. Gredya gets to know a cat that she isn't particularly inclined to kill...

Feuilly, in Milliways at least, likes dogs. He'd also like cats, pet birds, anything really, in a quiet and casual way. Bossuet and Joly have cats, but it's Joly who's really a cat person. Bossuet also has a friendly appreciation for horses.

Djehuty thinks ibises are domestic animals. Heck, they were farmed at some Egyptian temples, so why not? (I love this picture, silly as it is.)

William is a horses-and-hounds kind of guy. And he owns a lot of wet sheep and stands to inherit even more. Yaaay.

There was one very small mention of the existence of a Kit Kat Klub cat in the recent version of Cabaret, and I don't know if the Emcee was joking about it or not, but as far as I'm concerned it's now canon. And he did seem fond of it. So I'll say Emcee would prefer cats, probably because they're independent and all you have to do it give them food, water, and a scratch between the ears, and they'll go on their way and hunt mice or something.

Ronan has a pet raven named Chainsaw. She's almost always with him. He talks to her like she might be a person at times. He also grew up on a farm and recently has been able to move back to his childhood home. For being a bit of an asshole and a guy who likes to think of himself as a badass, he's a pretty big softy for just about any animal.

Tess likes fish.

Kylo...probably liked animals as a kid, but now? They have no place in his life.
