Thursday DE: getting to know you
Hullo! I believe it's been a while since we've done one of these, and we've got some new people and new characters and life events and all, so let's go, a bunch of (TOTALLY OPTIONAL) questions:
Who are you?
Who do you play?
What's a good way to contact you?
Is there anything you want people to know about your characters that might not be in their profiles?
Anything you want people to know about you, the player?
What are good RP times of day for you?
What kind of threads are you looking for?
Anything you try to avoid?
What's your style--do you like longterm slow threads, dropping things if they peter out after a day, plotty paragraphs, quick dialog...?
And while we're at it, is there anything your characters have added to the Milliways physical environment that other people might want to know about? Structures, gardens, pets...?

I play...oh god can I list them all, I really should drop a couple of these people...
Feuilly and Bossuet/Lesgle (Les Misérables)
Gredya (werewolf lady from Nick O'Donohoe's Crossroads books)
The Chief (Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?)
Harry Monmouth/Henry V (Shakespeare history plays)
William Douglas (James plays)
Helen Ramirez (High Noon)
Ursula (Kiki's Delivery Service)
and Djehuty/Thoth (Egyptian mythology)
I think most of my profiles are fairly up-to-date? About half my characters are more or less permanently in Milliways, mostly because of being dead.
I'm in the US, East Coast, and I'm an early bird with small children, so RP times for me are roughly 7am EST-9pm EST. But I'm pretty patchy throughout that, because again, small children.
RP style: I'm always always always happy to have new characters come say hi in any of my posts! RP-wise, I don't have the brainspace for this that I did in Days Gone By, alas: I'm gonna admit right here that I tend to drop threads after a day or two if I'm out of inspiration for them--I especially have a hard time keeping up momentum on one-line dialog threads. But you can always always nudge me to get back to something if you want. I'm usually looking for conversational RP and relatively short-term plots, but hit me up if you have ideas for something bigger. I mostly kind of suck at fighty action even though I wish I didn't, and I'm not very interested in sex or graphic violence. (Perfectly happy for my characters to talk to characters who do lean that way, but it's not my thing and I struggle to make my pups suitably interested.)
As far as alterations and additions to Milliways: Bossuet and Joly ran with Camwyn's suggestion that Milliways has some rooms in the style of the Madonna Inn. They live in the Blue Cherub Room. And Bossuet buses tables and does a bit of waitstaff work, with the blessing of the Bar staff.
Feuilly and Harry Percy are working on a small jousting/quintain ground in the woods. They also have a couple of doofy houndy dogs that are not really all that well-contained, and are likely to be roaming more than they ought.
Harry Monmouth has a dark bay horse in the stables.
Gredya and her kids live in the woods, so if anyone wants a pack of werewolves, they're there.

Who I play: My roster's pretty small these days -- Alistair Theirin (
I try to keep everybody's profiles as up to date as possible, especially regarding their appearance. I also kinda tried to Cliffs Notes some of the DA worldbuilding that applies to Alistair, but seriously, I cannot recommend this primer enough if you need help keeping all the factions straight. I've been playing DA:I for over forty hours and I'm maybe halfway through it. There is a lot of canon.
How I play: I'm usually around from about 10 PM to 11:30 PM ET most evenings, coupled with the occasional tag during work if things are quiet. As you can probably guess from that sporadic schedule, slowtime and I are BFFs! I will happily keep a thread chugging along for a while if the other party's amenable; that said, sometimes my brain shorts out and I lose track of a thread, so if I haven't tagged back in, like...weeks, and you want to keep going, just give me a nudge. <3
I like threads that forge unexpected connections. I'm always game for throwing two characters at each other and seeing if they stick. I also love plotty stuff; stories that unfold over multiple threads are pretty great.
...also, I not-so-secretly love things that let Curtis and Alistair fight baddies and beasties, because they're both warriors who don't get to show off that side of themselves very much anymore. If you need a tank for your battle? Hit me up. :D
(And I was about to put in my standard "prefer to FTB on NSFW stuff unless I know you well" disclaimer, but then I realized all my characters are in committed relationships nowadays, so never mind that!)
What I don't play: I prefer some warning if the topic of suicide comes up. I also don't do dubcon/noncon; passing mentions are okay, but nothing detailed or graphic. Other than that, I think we're good! LET'S THREAD STUFF, MILLIWAYS.

Adrian Shephard (Half-Life: Opposing Force), Ellen Park (Fallout 3), Quicksilver/Peter Maximoff (the X-Men movie version), El Santo, Varric Tethras (Dragon Age), Gordon Freeman (Half-Life), Stacker Pentecost (Pacific Rim), Fawkes (Fallout 3), and Hernan Guerra/Superman (Justice League: Gods and Monsters). I should probably drop Hernan, as I've only put him in once and haven't really been able to get things together to want to play him more. My apologies for that.
The best way to contact me is by private message on DW, or by email if you have it. I'm on DW and on tumblr as camwyn. If you need to contact me for reasons related to Milliways but not to my characters directly, I'm one of the mods; milliways.mods at gmail dot com works for that.
I'm in the US, on the East Coast, and I don't have as much time to tag after work hours as I used to. I'm more likely to thread during the day and I have no objection to long, drawn-out slowtimes, although if I lose track of things and forget to tag back after about a day or so (this is common- I work in IT and the job comes first) I may need prodding.
RP style: I'm generally quite happy to have random people drop by my characters' posts. I'm also fond of threads or plots that take other characters back to my pups' worlds, including plots where this happens by accident or mistake. (Surprise post-apocalyptic hellholes
full of nuclear monsters are fun for the whole family!) Okay with violence of varying degrees of graphicness, not a big fan of RPing the sex foo.
I don't mind characters getting into relationships, I'm actually quite fond of that, but I prefer to see it happen organically through interaction rather than through OOC pre-arrangement or fiat.
As for alterations, etc.: Several of my characters have rooms upstairs. Ellen's is room 101, and it resembles a Vault room from the Fallout games, which is to say it's marginally nicer than a berth on a 1960s-era American submarine and has a closet full of guns and armor. Shephard's room number eludes me at the moment, but it's crammed full of notebooks and textbooks and sharp objects and occasionally exudes very bad smells because he uses the bathroom for tanning hides.
Stacker Pentecost has set up a training room that strongly resembles the kwoon in Pacific Rim, and is probably going to be offering to practice with people there fairly soon so I can get back into playing him more.
Ellen regularly has her Brahmin with her at Milliways. Being from the Fallout universe, this is not a modern Brahmin cow, but a pinkish-brown two-headed bovine monstrosity named Shiphrah and Puah (Ellen names each head separately) that is more than big enough to ride. Shiphrah and Puah are quite capable of defending themselves from most predators and they are not spooked by gunfire, so if you want a 'fucking Milliways' background moment, there's always the possibility of a two headed cow wandering through your field of view or turning up in the stables.

I am Alex W
Who do you play?
Currently?
Hercule Poirot
James T. Kirk (original Trek)
The Question aka Vic Sage aka Charlie (DC Comics, 1986-2011 era)
Cyborg (Teen Titans cartoons)
Swamp Thing (DC Comics, 2011-present)
Alex Knox (1989 Batman film)
(I also have a Joshamee Gibbs in my head somewhere, and have not retired him but I suspect that between the misery of the 2011 film and Johnny Depp being reprehensible, PotC is not going to be fun to play for a while)
What's a good way to contact you?
Email - simondelmonte @ gmail; or pup journal messaging. I am still lurking on AIM but rarely use it much.
Is there anything you want people to know about your characters that might not be in their profiles?
I don't think so.
Anything you want people to know about you, the player?
Been in the game since 2004 and try to make some time to play every week, but it's not as easy as it once was. But I am still here and still loving it.
What are good RP times of day for you?
Some weeknights after 6pm, Sundays, some Saturday nights, and way early in the morning most days. (Eastern time!)
What kind of threads are you looking for?
Depends on the pup, but conversation is the main engine. Really, it depends on where things go.
Anything you try to avoid?
I am a fade to black sort of player, though given that one of my pups is a swamp monster and another is functionally asexual, I am not sure that is much of an issue a lot of the time. Also not big on lots of violence.
What's your style--do you like longterm slow threads, dropping things if they peter out after a day, plotty paragraphs, quick dialog...?
I try not to drop threads. I tend towards shorter posts. But I am fairly variable. I used to be lousy at anything but rapidly played threads that started at dawn and ended at dinner, but I am now a slowtime master. I think.
no subject
I play:
And some other characters who are very much back-burner.
My work schedule is Saturday-Wednesday, so my best playtimes are Thursdays and Fridays. I can't really tag in during the work day. I'm on mountain time.
I like good conversations, plotty stuff, and action to a degree (I'm not very good at fights). There are days when I just don't have the bandwidth for deep conversations, though.
I'm better at spoken dialogue-style than multi-paragraph, internal dialogue stuff. Slowtime threads are fine if it's interesting, but I'm also fine with letting things fade if the thread has run its course.

Hi!
Who are you? I'm Adiva! I'm on PST and work several jobs with bizarre schedules.
Who do you play? I play
What's a good way to contact you? Dreamwidth PM or email is the best way these days.
Is there anything you want people to know about your characters that might not be in their profiles? Beverly's the one who's gotten the most play lately, and though it's in her profile I always feel like it bears mentioning: Beverly lost three fingers on her right hand and usually wears a passive silicone prosthetic. It's probably not noticeable to a casual glance, but I'm fine with observant characters spotting that it doesn't move like a real hand/she favors her left hand/whatever.
Anything you want people to know about you, the player? I don't RP a whole lot anymore, but I do miss it and all of you! As other people have said, I tend to drop threads after a couple of days if I run out of inspiration; that said, if a thread is petering out and there's something specific you want to get out of it that hasn't happened, please get in touch with me!
If my pups can be helpful for a specific kind of thread (Nita is a wizard and can do healing; Epimetheus is good with animals and is also a Greek god; Kim is a really good housebreaker and pickpocket; etc) I'd love to try and make them available.

I'm at a double shift myself, but I've got some time this weekend! Maybe we can coordinate then?

no subject
Definitely! It's a date. Kim is at a nebulous pre-canon point where she's trying to stay on the right side of the law in her own world, otherwise I'd offer to let Selina come steal stuff in magical Regency London. A field trip might be arranged with or without criminal activity, though!

Childermass doesn't much like the useless members of the upper classes either, so. :D
no subject
Do you want to keep the Beverly-Childermass thread going, or let that fade out? I'm good either way -- they're at a nice place to continue -- but I suspect I'll be able to focus on new shiny threads better.

I'm up for continuing! But don't force it if you'd rather fade.

Who do you play? - Nobody at the moment, but I'm planning on apping this guy next week.
What's a good way to contact you? - Tumblr, probably. I'm Miles-y over there. Follow me if you want, but it's mostly an "I'm feeling old, so let's look at pretty young men" blog. I've forgotten my DW login, and can't be particularly bothered to sort it out again.
Is there anything you want people to know about your characters that might not be in their profiles? - For those who might not remember me, or weren't around when I was here last, I'm drawn to the crackpups. The ones that make no sense, even within their own canon. I am not sorry.
Anything you want people to know about you, the player? - I now own my own business and work from home, which means I'm pretty much always about, but also kind of not really, since I'm pretty much always working. About twice a month, I have a "fuckit day," where I literally do nothing but fuck around on the internet, though.
What are good RP times of day for you? - Between about 10am-10pm (PST), sporadically, as I have time. It varies widely day to day. After 10pm, I'm here until I fall asleep.
What kind of threads are you looking for? - Threads that are fun. Which is super vague, I know. I'm a bit demented, and I think my pup choice tends to reflect that, so yeah.
Anything you try to avoid? - Not really? If I'm super not feeling it, I'll let you know, but it's pretty rare when that happens.
What's your style--do you like longterm slow threads, dropping things if they peter out after a day, plotty paragraphs, quick dialog...? - I depends on the thread itself, usually. And the pup. Some are more suited to quick dialogue, others are more suited to involved plots. I haven't quite got to know Wilford well enough just yet to determine exactly where he'll fit on this scale.
And while we're at it, is there anything your characters have added to the Milliways physical environment that other people might want to know about? Structures, gardens, pets...? - Oh, I'm sure there's some rude graffiti up in the rafters from a few of them. Somewhere, there's a table that's been completely coloured on in a sort of pictionary improv style when... Teller? I think? and someone else whom I can't remember, went to town and drew all sorts of weird scenes on it.

Seems like there's been a lot of shuffling over the last few years, but also not as much as I'd have expected.
no subject
Time goes so quickly around here, I honestly can't tell what's changed or not. It's sad, really - but the bar is always the better for having you in it! :D
no subject
Yeah, I kinda feel bad about all my purged pups, but at the same time, I'm probably not gonna be picking any of them up again. At least not any time soon. I figured if I was gonna come back, I'd start fresh, and then maybe if I start to get time, re-app some of the old ones. I know I had Plans for some of them, but whatever they were, I can't even begin to remember now.
I think of all the changes, the Fight Club is the most exciting. That's right up Wilford's alley, I think.

Who do you play? I have played a lot of characters over time, but my current roster is:
Teja --
Dr. Hannibal Lecter --
Ragnar Lothbrok --
Father Pearse Harman --
Dorian Gray --
Lady Margolotta von Überwald --
Katrina Crane --
Madame Thénardier --
The jólasveinar --
What's a good way to contact you? DM me through the journal of the character in question, or ping me on AIM at sootymun
Is there anything you want people to know about your characters that might not be in their profiles? Hannibal doesn't do narrative, as the fandom has very convincingly metaed about how he is always The Other, and seen through other people's eyes. He can be observed, sometimes by an unseen narrator, but is never the PoV character. I never tag a new person with Hannibal without asking first, and when I do, I will describe what your character sees or hears. That includes calling him by whatever name or description your character uses to think of him.
Anything you want people to know about you, the player? I live in Munich, Germany at GMT+1, I have been in Milliways as long as it existed, on and off, my AIM is named for the nickname of my first lasting character, Asar-Suti, and my tagging times and habits vary over the years.
What are good RP times of day for you? At this point in time, my evening, AKA the afternoon in the US.
What kind of threads are you looking for?Almost anything. I am adventurous.
Anything you try to avoid? Pointless chatter.
What's your style--do you like longterm slow threads, dropping things if they peter out after a day, plotty paragraphs, quick dialog...? I actually do all of these things, apart from where I never drop things after a day, unless the other party does -- which I am completely fine with, either.
And while we're at it, is there anything your characters have added to the Milliways physical environment that other people might want to know about? Structures, gardens, pets...? Oh dear, where do I start? Asar-Suti founded the magical library together with the wizard Eskarina Smith from Discworld, and started the trilobite tank by the fireplace. Urquhart, another ex-charrie of mine, planted the asparagus in the garden. Teja runs the forge, but didn't start it; however, it is very much influenced by his style of working, and the techniques of his time. He's been in charge since early 2008. Moreover, he has four cats that roam the outside. Father Harman has taken over the running and maintenance of the chapel in the woods that Javert built. Oh, and the mermaid in the lake used to be a character of mine as well, Tamara from PotC4; she can still be assumed to be around there.

Don
Who do you play?
Ahsoka Tano (Clone Wars), Sabine Wren (Star Wars Rebels), Sam Wilson (MCU), Rollo (Vikings), Shinatose Izana (Knights of Sidonia), Ato Touji (Tokyo Ravens), Selina Kyle (Gotham), Hank McCoy (X-Men movie-verse), Amelia Heartstriker (Heartstriker series), and Eliot Waugh (The Magicans (TV))
What's a good way to contact you?
PM through character journal or email (delmcatee at gmail). I'm on tumblr as well with the same name as this journal. Chats stress me for some reason so any time on AIM or whatever needs to be arranged ahead of time.
Is there anything you want people to know about your characters that might not be in their profiles? It's all in their profiles.
Anything you want people to know about you, the player?
I try to keep up with things but fail all to often. I'm sorry. It's me not you.
What are good RP times of day for you?
Typically banker hours, 8am to 4pm Pac Standard Time (US). I can do some tags at night or the weekend, but things can be random.
What kind of threads are you looking for?
Anything? I'm good for conversations, light or deep. Canon shares or fixes. I'd love some off world time for Selina and Amelia keeps telling me she can take people on adventures to the outer planes if only I'd move her through some story. I used to be good with fights but lately I seem to fail at them.
Anything you try to avoid?
I'm not good with romance tbh. I'm fine playing up to PG-13 but would need to fade to black if it goes farther. It also needs to make sense for the characters.
What's your style--do you like longterm slow threads, dropping things if they peter out after a day, plotty paragraphs, quick dialog...?
Quick dialog seems to be my jam since my free time and mojo seem to be sporadic. I feel like I just need to accept that if I leave a thread for more than two days that it likely needs to fade or be dropped.
ETA: By quick dialog, I mean a few quick sentences, like dialog and actions mixed, not the almost chat-like play I see from time to time. I could do that, but I tend to play around work and home life.
And while we're at it, is there anything your characters have added to the Milliways physical environment that other people might want to know about? Structures, gardens, pets...?
Izana rediscovered the flight simulator room and Sam has set up several fighting rings outback for use during the fight clubs.

Who do you play?
Gene Hunt
Javert
Jean Valjean
Courfeyrac
Bruce Wayne
Bruce Banner
Jack Aubrey
Jim Moriarty
What's a good way to contact you? Email is best - writetolive at gmail dot com. Or through character journals, either way. But I prefer email for ease of finding stuff later.
Is there anything you want people to know about your characters that might not be in their profiles? I talk about my pups far too much as it is, so, nope. If anyone has questions, I am always here to be asked.
What are good RP times of day for you? I'm a Brit and I'm working from home these days, so am literally pretty much around whenever. That might change come September, but for now, I'm reachable and generally up for playing.
What kind of threads are you looking for? Literally anything, as long as they evolve naturally through character interactions. Stuff doesn't work for me if it's planned out beforehand too much.
Anything you try to avoid? Nope, not actively. If it makes sense for the characters, I'm usually good with it.
What's your style--do you like longterm slow threads, dropping things if they peter out after a day, plotty paragraphs, quick dialog...? Timezones dictate that showtime is inevitable, so I'm used to it. If it's just a casual conversation I'll probably peter out after three or more days. If it's a relationship/plot/character-important thing, I'll be there until the bitter end. And I can't do just quick dialogue, it just doesn't grab me. I'm verbose, sorry.
And while we're at it, is there anything your characters have added to the Milliways physical environment that other people might want to know about? Structures, gardens, pets...? Javert built a church, but it's now handed over entirely to Father Harman. Jim will probably start building something come the autumn, but we'll see. Bruce Banner contributed a wide trail of destruction once upon a time, but that will have grown over now. :D

Who do you play? Karkat Vantas
What's a good way to contact you? DW Inbox works ok, or camacammal@gmail.com
Is there anything you want people to know about your characters that might not be in their profiles? It can always stand to be said again--Karkat's not always *yelling*, he's just got a LOUD, HARSH VOICE that manifests as capital letters. Think of it as the greyness modifying the capsness.
Also, it's in his profile, but please remember: Karkat is a kid! He looks like he's about fourteen, tops, and despite his language, history and superior alien knowledge of some topics, that's probably a good milestone for his emotional intelligence.
Anything you want people to know about you, the player? I have been playing here for a long time; I used to be known as John, but I'm transgender.
What are good RP times of day for you? I'm on CST and usually go to bed around 10 pm. Other than that, all times are pretty much equally good. I can often thread and work and usually have some time in the evenings, but nothing is ever promised.
What kind of threads are you looking for? Most things are good! Topics Karkat can reliably have a conversation about are romance, romance movies and novels, movies in general (because his definition of romance is very broad), destiny and other dirty tricks, alien technology, sickles, grim commiseration (without hugs).
Karkat has access to Homestuck manufacturing technology and can probably make that thing you need; he will probably do it, too, if you ask, despite the bluster. Part of successfully talking to Karkat is realizing that very little of the noise he makes really means anything.
*I* like world-building, exploring canon resonances, helping facilitate others' plots, and Jokes.
Anything you try to avoid? I don't do smut--Karkat is a minor so I try not to think about his sex life if any, but even he wasn't I wouldn't be hunting to thread it out. If your adult character hits on Karkat he will probably a) lose his shit and b) go around loudly declaring that so-and-so is a pederast, so, fair warning.
Karkat will talk pretty grimly and freely about his shitty backstory but reacts very uncomfortably to unsubtle sympathy; I don't necessarily try to AVOID these threads, but please don't be confused if your character tries to comfort him and he bites their head off.
What's your style--do you like longterm slow threads, dropping things if they peter out after a day, plotty paragraphs, quick dialog...?
I prefer for threads to resolve rrrrelatively quickly? I get stuck in characterization limbo if there's a major conversation hanging fire, and if it's not a major conversation then, well, maybe we should wrap it and pick it up in the present then? Having a SUPER DEEP conversation with someone once a year is kind of a weird model for making friends.
I usually have plotty stuff running some place but you shouldn't worry about it when it comes to tagging; I try to provide any relevant information, and there's nothing more fun than when random interactions end up playing into or influencing the direction of plotty stuff.
Homestuck walks a line between incredibly tragic and incredibly ridiculous and I love camping out there. There *will* be jokes, and silly graphics, and canonical memes being re-capitulated.
no subject
Oh right--Karkat and the rest of the trolls are responsible for the three alchemiters on the grounds, two of which are in public spaces; one in a clone of the forge adjoining the forge proper and one tucked away in the greenhouse. He also expanded and renovated a cave up the mountain for Nepeta, but that's not really a public zone.
He also maintains and distributes the T Minus network, although Dave has horned in with his iShades and the network basically runs itself, because the server blew up a long time ago and all the messages are technically time-displaced.

Who do you play? Lady Mary Crawley of Downton Abbey, May Daye of the Toby Daye books, Stiles Stilinski of Teen Wolf, Carol Danvers of Marvel comics, and the Tracksuit Draculas of Marvel comics. (FYI, the Tracksuits, as a general rule probably won't just be hanging out in the bar chatting with folks, but do let me know if you're interested in involving them in shenanigans.)
What are good RP times of day for you? I work multiple PT jobs, so my schedule is erratic, but generally the best time to catch me will be somewhere between 4-11pm EST, because my brain doesn't function so well in the morning.
What's your style--do you like longterm slow threads, dropping things if they peter out after a day, plotty paragraphs, quick dialog...? Take my schedule and adding a chronic illness equals sometimes I randomly disappear. If it appears I have flaked on you, I promise, it's not that I wasn't enjoying threading with you, my body just went into fail mode. That said, slowtime is my friend. If you'd love me to tag back on an old-ish (or even new-ish) thread, please let me know. Seriously. Heather, Bing, and I recently posted a thread we'd been working on for over a YEAR. (Conversely, for all your fast people, I'm not always that slow. If you want a quick convo thread or short plot, just let me know, so I can throw some attention at that for a bit!)
As far as style of tags, I usually mix a few lines of dialogue with some narration, and lately the narration tends on the cheeky, meta side. (That's at least partly because of the damn Tracksuits.) I am utter crap at describing the character's surrounding because I am just not a visual person, so, uh, don't expect a lot of detail in that respect.
no subject
I'm a fan of plotty or at least more involved paragraphs as RP goes, and I have a *ball* when playing with imagery and callbacks in narration, especially if I'm not the only one doing it. Sariel is also one of those whose actions can say as much as or more than her words do, which affects how I write for her. What I'd sooner avoid... I'd really rather not play out sex scenes, if that ever becomes relevant in a thread I'm in. FTB, please, and I'd much rather keep any written-out sexy elements PG-13. Also, violence on the level of what's termed 'violence porn'. No thank you. What's realistic/canon typical for many given universes is fine.
As for things about the mun that should be known, there is one. Sariel's vision is human standard, but her player's is not. I'm totally blind, so I will miss things like icons intended to add a certain effect to a thread or undescribed graphical posts, and I have *bleep* all clue about what anyone's PB looks like! You will get mega kudos from me if you describe a relevant icon or larger image OOCly, seriously. Oh, and please forgive the occasional moment of '... Wait, those are orange? I always thought they were green,' or similar. My mental images of things/places/people sometimes don't match up with the visual standard, and once in a while it can be a pretty spectacular mismatch! Yeah, guess who got her pup's ethnicity wrong when starting out? ... Mega facepalm.
no subject
Best way to get in touch with me is a journal PM. I am BookBeast4 on AIM but I've restricted it to friends only. I encourage people to contact me OOCly if there's something specific they want to do, or they have a question, or they have an issue with a tag I've made. I like feedback even if it's criticism - I prefer to know where I stand.
I tend to be most available Monday through Friday, and in the evenings on other days. But be warned, slowtimes are always likely verging on inevitable.
I am mostly looking for threads where I can bounce my characters off certain other characters in ways that would produce interesting results. :) But I also like to develop relationships between my characters and people they already know.
While I tend to avoid really lengthy OOMs where I'm just typing by myself, I am fine doing an RP OOM on request. My characters are fine with flirting but if things get, you know, NSFW, I prefer a fade-to-black rather than something explicit.
As for my RP style, I tend to have slow-ish long-term threads. I am learning the virtues of doing shorter threads. I like to mutually agree that a thread should be faded or wrapped rather than leaving it hanging, but I understand that other people aren't picky like that.
Abe no Seimei has added cherry trees to the Milliways grounds! Sort of. The trees appeared and bloomed for ten days last April, then disappeared. They seemed to be a hit so I will definitely be doing it again next April!

I am TL! I've been here for a long time (10.5 years?), but idk how many people remember me.
Who do you play?
Probably too many people! I'm on mobile, so not super able to link, but:
Chuck Hansen
Clint Barton
Darcy Lewis
Melinda May
Quatre Winner
Legolas Thranduilion
John Connor
Oh my goodness, obviously Sebastian
are the ones leaping to mind
What's a good way to contact you?
Tlfandom@gmail.com is the easiest way. I can usually get into gchat or AIM (TLvop) if you e-mail me :).
Is there anything you want people to know about your characters that might not be in their profiles?
I guess I should just reiterate that Legolas is an extremely short-attention-spanned guy, and will randomly decide people are boring. I can't really predict it.
Anything you want people to know about you, the player?
I had a condition like a brain tumor for a few years, which messed up my memory & general health (improving!), so I am accidentally SUPER FLAKE-Y. Please feel free to e-mail, as long as you don't mind if I reply saying I might not be up for it for a bit.
What are good RP times of day for you?
This varies. I'm PST/MST, and my work is very variable.
What kind of threads are you looking for?
I love character development & general "let's see what happens" threads.
Anything you try to avoid?
Unless I know you well, I'm likely to be uncomfortable with our characters flirting (especially if I'm playing a woman). I also prefer to avoid out right gender-queering-as-the-point of a thread (versus just agender/trans/genderqueer characters), as gender essentialism can trigger anxiety attacks here.
Also I mostly avoid long plots, so as not to drag anyone into the pit of my flaky Ness.
What's your style--do you like longterm slow threads, dropping things if they peter out after a day, plotty paragraphs, quick dialog...?
I love threading, but unfortunately must regularly live in slowtime. If we're in at the same time, I really enjoy conversing during threads!

I'm Kate or Fi, I answer to both. This is my mun journal, please feel free to friend me as I love connecting with Milliways' folk. If you check the sidebar of my journal, you can see who I am on other social media sites. Again, I'd love to connect but especially on Tumblr, tell me who you are as I can never keep the various names straight. My email is bardlark (a) gmail.com.
I'm a librarian looking for a full time job which means currently I play mainly during the afternoon and late evening EST unless something comes up. If you want anything researched or where to look for odd facts, just ask me. I love figuring stuff out. Many of my pups are from different eras or worlds because I love the concept of the past is a different country and poking at how ideas of how to act and what's important shift.
The best ways to contact me are on AIM where I'm FionaLl8, a message to this journal or a character journal.
My roster at the moment is in order of how often I play them:
William Evans
Quentin
Sameth
Charles Xavier
Demeter
Moist von Lipwig
Ivan Vorpatril
Jane Austen
Will Scarlett
Tumnus
In terms of thread preferences, I go for what feels right for the characters and the world. Basically I enjoy most styles of threads as long as they're moving forward a relationship or fit. Its hard to know what won't work until its tried. That's why for me communication is key. I'm happy to stop a thread or do a short one if two characters don't hit it off as those can be intriguing and then later be built on. In terms of sexual content, a few of my characters are far more willing than others; Moist and Demeter, with the others things move slower and I think intimacy is the best part of RPing relationships. Tumnus is a no go for anything sexual, it doesn't make sense to me. Sparring and fighting threads can also be great when they fit. It all comes down to talking and trying. In terms of timing and length of threads, I don't have a preference, some threads are short and some are long just like conversations. If there's a great movement to a thread, I'm all for slowtime but that works best when there's enough to build on. Writing style, I do a bit of everything.

I play X-23 and Ysalwen Surana the most often. I also have Wonder Woman (vol 2 comics), Michael the Archangel, Flemeth, Dean Winchester, Galadan, Raven, and Nynaeve al'Meara on my roster as well.
E-mailing me at varadia [at] gmail is good, or hitting me up on IM when I'm on there.
I think I hit most of it in the profiles, but Ysalwen's hair is really literally white, not just pale blonde.
I guess yay science? I dunno.
I am best for RP in the evening as I am on EST/EDT, but I can occasionally tag in from work when days are slow or I have breaks.
Initial small talk, deepening friendship threads, adventure, action, sparring -- everything but sex, really. And gratuitous torture or violence. I know it when I see it, and when I don't want to be a part of it, but -- it's different for every storyline.
I like to think I'm pretty good at most things, or good with most things, but I tend to primarily enjoy a mix of quick dialogue bits and longer exposition tags within one thread. I'm good for slowtime, especially when growing a friendship, opening up more issues/areas of contrast, or something. Less so for plain old small talk.

Who do you play? Tess Mercer and Kylo Ren
What's a good way to contact you? PM either journal.
Is there anything you want people to know about your characters that might not be in their profiles? Not really but I'm open to questions from the curious.
Anything you want people to know about you, the player? I am Canadian, which makes me so awesome I can't even begin to tell you about it.
What are good RP times of day for you? I'm at home a lot right now, but I hope to change that ASAP by getting a job.
What kind of threads are you looking for? Unfortunately, neither of my crew known very many people, so I'd be looking to make connections.
Anything you try to avoid? Action. I cannot write action to save my life.
What's your style--do you like longterm slow threads, dropping things if they peter out after a day, plotty paragraphs, quick dialog...? I'm good with back-tagging within a week, but I prefer quick dialog threads with narrative as required or wanted.
And while we're at it, is there anything your characters have added to the Milliways physical environment that other people might want to know about? Structures, gardens, pets...? Nope.
